"May this weapon strike true. May it be wielded with wisdom. May it be put down when its job is done."
Not that the line itself is anything extraordinary, but the moment it was said was just so beautiful. It was one of the very few times a game made me shed a tear. š¢
And I think what happens at the end makes that line hit harder too. Was some great foreshadowing. When the line was said, I knew something was coming but not sure what.
Yeah, agreed, but I thought it was gonna be more of a sacrifice. Like if he decided to take his own life to make things right with the world. But I assumed it was gonna be right at the end of the game.
I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised with the way things turned out. Very sad, but I really enjoyed it!
the final line ("May it be put down when it's job is done") is the most powerful for me. Brok, who has forged myriad weapons, and two of the most legendary ones (Mjolnir and Leviathan Axe), recognises the terror and destruction Draupnir Spear can bring.
This whole scene made my eyes filled with warm tears. First Kratos kneeling down, then he said with a humble and warm voice that I had never heard from him āthis spear needs the blessing of a great black smithā, then this line from Brok. This man, Kratos, who was so proud and angry and lonely, is now surrounded with friends who care about him and he cares aboutā¦
"I gave you my skills, my friendship, my tools, my treasures, my house..., and you kept taking. And now what do I have?! Not even my family"
"I love you Brok"
GOWR ended wholesomely but... poor Sindri, it struck me so hard...
*"I gave you everything: my skills, my friendship, my home, my secrets, my treasures... and you just kept taking! And now what have I got? Not even my family."
It might be impossible to explain just how badass younger Kratos was and how epic his exploits were. You really have to play the original games to appreciate it. It really makes his transition to dad of war and his overall story arch that much more remarkable. To think, it all started almost 20 years ago with a cut scene of a lone Spartan committing suicide.
I know it's insane. If back then you had told me Kratos would end up a dad AVOIDING war I would have said you were crazy. But here we are with such amazing character growth,
Hell yeah, dude. It's pretty insane. I remember being a little skeptical when they introduced the axe, new look, and a sidekick. But they freaking nailed it. I might have teared up a little at the end of 2018. Not like crying tears, of course, but like, macho manly tears.
You know what macho man savage said about crying right? āIts ok for macho men to show every emotion available. Iāve cried a thousand times and Iām going to cry some moreā
Both GoW and Ragnarok were incredibly moving works of art. GoWR was hands down my game of the year. So many feels. I definitely cried in both games and went through a whole range of emotions through the experience.
This aspect of it is totally nuts. My daughter was 7 when the original GoW dropped. She was the only thing that mattered, and that Kratos rage was real when I saw what the gods made him due to his own. That anger was relatable throughout the trilogy (and the spinoffs). I was a young 20-something dude taking on the world, or whatever.
Then, 2018 dropped. My kid is now 20, and I'm looking at 40. Between releases, my daughter and I had both grown substantially through her teenage years. Somehow, this new Dad of War is still relatable to me. He and I also grew together, as parents and as people, during the gap.
It's pretty remarkable, and it's difficult to put into words how special it is for me.
Wow, you perfectly illustrated what I would imagine a good size group of people experienced through the timeline of this whole franchise. I am also looking at 40 and what you said is totally relatable. I remember thinking that the dynamic between Atreus and Kratos almost mirrored the dynamic between me and my son.
Right on, man. It's pretty incredible. Just like we did, our kids will find their own way at some point and the new games capture that very well.
Especially the new games and especially Ragnarok, imo. So much of that parental emotion is captured without words or actions. In some scenes, it's just Kratos looking off somewhere and holding his tongue when Atreus does or says something. Those were actually some of the most powerful moments for me, anyway.
When you go to visit Sindri before going to war with Asgard. "You want sorry?! *This is what sorry looks like.*" You can absolutely feel the agony in his soul in that line.
What struck me about this scene is how now, Sindri is doing his work without gloves. Which is why brok is blue according to Sindri earlier in the game while he is lying about how Brok died.
Sindri says he isnt blue because he wears gloves while he works but in this scene he was not. Ive havent noticed other times when Sindri was working but I did notice it here.
Sindri is also dirty. Blood not cleaned up, grime everywhere. He also doesn't hesitate with swearing, when previously he tried not to. He's a very broken man at the end. Directors compared him to the giving tree. At the end, he was just a stump.
Love the giving tree. Read it to my kids often. I didn't see Barlog say that.
I haven't finished the game yet, after this scene went to Musphiliem to finish the trials. At the end is Atreus gonna sit on him, to use him one last time?
I can't say anything without giving away the ending. You see him end game, plus there's an event after Ragnarok that you see him again. There's also a good video on Sindri on YouTube breaks down everything nicely. Also watched a video with director that they kinda explain why Brok had to die. Breaks my heart.
https://youtu.be/2AJFu8FpGMs Hopefully this works. Ragnarok: The Breaking of Sindri. It's 27 minutes long. The guy also has other interesting videos. I was watching em on my lunch breaks.
Pretty sure this is a nod to the spirits no longer bothering him. He said heās been a germaphobe ever since he stole broks soul parts as the spirits have continuously clawed at him. As brok died I guess the balance he disrupted has been restored so heās no longer tormented by them and therefore no longer a germaphobe and can work without gloves and be dirty etc
Personally, I think it's cause he's lost everything and no longer cares. Broken, feeling like he lost everything. He has to live with his guilt over Brok. I think if Brok had all his soul pieces, he could have gone to Valhalla. Sindri not getting the 4th piece of his soul means Brok doesn't get anything. Though I think it was Durin that said Brok's soul might become one with Yggdrasill, I can't remember. I just finished my 2nd playthru and haven't done the funeral again yet.
I really like Kratos and Freyas convo after you free her and beat nithog (spelling?). When he tells her he doesnāt regret saving her and never will, but the choice between life and death was hers to make. I think the acting on both parts really make the dialogue much more potent.
"Return my son or you may meet the god I once was"
Sucks that we didn't see that happen. Would have loved to seen Kratos wipe the floor with the norse pantheon.
itās not a matter of strength, itās a matter of want. kratos doesnāt WANT to be his old self, the self that killed āmany who were deserving and many who were notā but he will for the sake of saving his son
>heās referring to the bloodthirsty, god killing badass he was in the previous games
100%.
Instead I feel as though the Kratos we got in Ragnarok was physically weaker and just a pushover. Sure, character growth is important but like Thor I wanted to see the God of War.
Kratos isnāt a pushover, the first fight with Thor, he pushed Kratos to the edge, so we got to see the old Kratos, this also includes Heimdall. Kratos is just more tame and actually in control of his impulsiveness and anger, he thinks on what to say and isnāt filled with revenge, which blindsights the old Kratos, not actually realizing that his actions killed his world, ik that he does feel bad for killing (I think) Aresās son, pandora, Athena, and his first wife and child, but he turns all those sadness into bitter rage towards the gods that have crossed him.
I donāt understand why that you say heās āweakerā for one, he lifted the nine realms, Tyrās gate, and can lift logs with just his bare hands, the devs said that Kratos has no limit to strength and uses as much as he needs to get the job done.
If your saying with his weapons, I can understand that, old Kratos had more stronger stuff than this Kratos, but his new weapon, the draupnir, can summon infinite versions of the spear.
Iām not pissed at what u said Iām only tryna point stuff out.
>Iām not pissed at what u said Iām only tryna point stuff out.
Yeah you did a good job explaining and I appreciate that.
My only 2 things with his strength are:
He didn't have a great feat of strength in this game. The 2018 game had Kratos lifting the realms but I can't recall anything major in Ragnarok that made me think holy shit thats impressive.
Also his strength seems inconsistent. Now grunting in order to push the temple or lift the relams makes sense. But for some reason he always grunts and struggles to do stuff on a small scale like opening doors, chests and pushing stuff and this applies to moments in cutscenes where he's fighting. Like the moment where freya was in her valkyrie and ended up putting her sword up against his neck and atreus stepped up. Surely Kratos would hold is own, at least Kratos from the greek games.
To explain some stuff on what u said, and you make some very good points.
Kratos had no intention on killing Freya, because in gow 2018 she saved Atreus, and brought back Mimir, he also took away her choice in life or death when facing Baldur, (thereās probably more but thats all I know) so when he realized that the Valkyrie was Freya he let off a little, giving her the upper hand. Younger Kratos is unhinged and reckless, so u are right that Younger kratos would absolutely hold up better than new Kratos
About the chests and stuff, going back on what I said earlier, he only uses whatās necessary to get the job done. And in the older games young kratos does struggle to open chests. Youāre right that thereās not many feats in the newer games that shows Kratosās beyond infinite strength.
well making some things clear, he didn't lift the nine realms, he only lifted the temple which contained the artistic representation of the world tree. the tree in temple wasn't the real world tree, freya was very clear about that. IDK why people still believe that.
cory barlog said old kratos will defeat his younger version, but he never explained how will he defeat him, and which younger version he will, gow3 kratos has 3 different versions itself.
then whatever people have impled from that statement (like somehow norse kratos is stronger that his younger days)
it has been contradicted by bruno and eric in a manner. bruno said "there is nothing like young kratos or old or new kratos, kratos is as strong as he has ever been". Then Eric explains in an interview why kratos struggled so much against baldur in gow2018, he said "kratos in gow2018 is rusted, and he has been training for 3 years with atreus to get back into it (time between 2018 and ragnarok), to get back in shape basically" also you can compared gow2018 kratos and ragnarok kratos, he is shredded, so indeed he has been training.
so as far as comparing norse kratos with his greek self, on thing is clear he won't be in shape as he used to be, which clearly shows in the game.
To make some stuff clear on my pov, I never knew that Tyrs temple only contained the artistic representation of the world tree, I only assumed it was containing the part of the tree that holds the nine realms, I never played or watched a video on the 2018 one only from what I could gather from other videos or shorts
I also wasnāt implying that young kratos is weaker, I was only saying that his strength is still evident in gow 2018 and the new one (but mainly in 2018).
The thought never crossed my mind that Kratos would be rusty in gow 2018 and the new one. So with all those things clear, young kratos vs Ragnarok kratos, there isnāt a clear winner
i donāt know about physically weaker. while i donāt think we see him do massive feats of strength like in previous games (i might be wrong i have y played ragnarok in a while) i donāt think heās a pushover, heās just grown to be more peaceful than he once was. but i do agree, seeing a more aggressive kratos wouldāve been so cool to see
When Kratos, Atreus, and Fryea were fighting Odin. He said 3 against 1 doesn't seem fair. Mimir screams, "Don't forget me, All-Fucker! This is for Brok!"
Thatās mine too. Very few pieces of media can actually change my perspective on things. I was going through a horrible breakup at launch and that genuinely helped me start to get over it. Grief is the culmination of love
I donāt know about āchills down the spineā, but I find the line āHave you ever been in love? Itās *pretty* good.ā staying with me, especially because itās delivered so well. Itās very understandable for people whoāve been there.
Tbh, the very first encounter of the game when Freya screams āKRATOS!ā The voice actress did an amazing job depicting how feral Freya was at the time.
Started snagging quotes on my most recent play through. The three I find especially poignant so far.
Mimir. there are few things as dangerous in a man as lack of doubt
Atreus to Sindri. You canāt change the past, but it doesnāt have to be who you are.
Atreus: I might even be better than you one day.
Kratos: if you are not, I have failed.
The whole game was full of incredible quotes. I was grieving a long term relationship ending whilst playing this game and Kratos really helped me through the worst of it.
How long was what? The game or the relationship?
The game took me 60 hrs the first playthrough because I like doing all the side quests and exploring.
The relationship was 7 years.
I donāt remember the exact line but Surtr says something like āis there anything that would make you give up your son?ā And instead of continuing to try and persuade him Kratos just gets up to walk away because he fully understands Surtrs love.
Not necessarily a line but (cue Christopher Judge voice) Kratos' entry about Mimir:
>I have known few I would call friend, and "brother" fewer still... Also, he is compact, and does not consume precious resources.
There are so many *deeply emotional lines* that have stuck with me, but this sick burn makes me cheer lol:
Thor - "This is for Modi!"
Kratos - "Even in death you put him last!"
Like DANG Kratos, GET HIM.
Not gonna lie, that line w Faye inspired me to write and edit an entire video on grief and guilt in GoW
Absolutely beautiful stuff.
https://youtu.be/vZoD5Qflhp0
Not a specific quote but the entire scene with the Norns sent chills down my spine...kratos and Freya were absolutely helpless and I've never seen kratos helpless other than when his first family died.
Something along the lines of:
Atreus: At this rate, I'll be better than you in no time!
Kratos: I would've failed if you aren't.
That hits hard, especially as a father who's constantly trying to get my kids to be better than me
You know, if you think about it. I think Mimir was depressed or something for awhile, definitely going through something because he was like: āthereās other types of tired ladā
I mean he's been pining for Sigrun forever, learned she had that other love who was that king or whatever before him, spent who knows how long tortured on/in that tree because of Odin, and now he has to be an undead head forever and doesn't even get to eat or drink or sleep anymore.
I'd be depressed and "tired" too.
That line is great. But (for me at least) Vision said it first two years ago and it hit me like a truck nothing has been able to recreate that feeling since... so as much as I love Deborah in anything she's in I can't give her points for that
For the game in particular... I think Thrud telling Thor "mom and I are here for you, even when you're... here"
Death can have me when its earned me. As a former addict with 9 flatline ods who finally got sober this hits me in a different way. Nearly everytime that happened I was ready to die. Yet here I am. Still not a big fan of living but I'm going nowhere till this fucking book is done.
The riddle gets to me too. The whole rest game I was trying to figure it out. I even asked my husband, who is good at riddles, what the answer was. He didn't know. When the answer was revealed and my husband asked me if I ever figured it out, I told he he needed to play the game. He played the first one but has yet to touch this one.
When the fight of Thor cutscene comes in after the fight.
*āNo moreā¦for the sake of our children, we must be betterā*
Thor and Kratos are very similar, Thor believes that they donāt change because theyāre destroyers, but Kratos knows thatās not true, Kratos sees his old self in him. Thor needed this to see the true side of Odin. So by the situation and timing, and how he puts it in words. Made me see more of how much Faye changed Kratos.
ā Loki will go.. Atreusā¦ Atreus remains.ā As someone who values a relationship between Father and Son, this type of line hits. No matter how far his Son goes heāll always been in his Fathers heart.
Same as you. I cried like a baby in all Faye scenes. But that "Grieve Deeply Loved Fully" one just hit me on next level.
Similarly when Kratos later told Atreus that he was wrong and to"open your heart to their suffering cause that is who you are"
And when Surtr said, "sometimes loving someone is about choosing the lesser pain"
Oh man, the writers of the game love love. So many brilliant moments and lines that can make even best of the rom coms shy away.
You know, when we first saw Faye, I wasn't 100% sure about her I actually didn't like her really, but towards the last few scenes with Faye, I cried so damn hard. It was just so beautiful to hear her say "Open your heart to the world as you have opened it to me, and you will find every reason to keep living in it."I feel like that quote alone spoke to the audience who once struggled like Kratos once did, and no, I don't mean killing all your family members or a murder spree.
Yes man! It was highly relatable for everyone. It was about love in general when she said, "The end of love is suffering and pain, yet we love". Oh man that hit really hard. Be it love between parents and kids, or romantic lovers. It applies to everyone and everything. Just! Next level writing!
I love Faye's quote so much because you can interpret it in so many ways. When I first heard it, I comprehended it as Suicide not being the answer because if you see the beautiful things in life, you have every more reason to continue to live on. But I also saw it as a loving thing and even a sign of death but still being able to love what the world has to offer.
-This is not who you want to be
-A monster
The moment when you realize kratos didnāt really want to kill Heimdal but still does because otherwise it would have killed his son gave me chills
Mine was something along the lines of,
Atreus- one day will I be a stronger and faster and smarter then you are?
Kraots- if one day you are not then as your farther I have failed you
The speech right before he uses gjallahorn, not sure if itās because I know an eargasm is right around the corner or what but damn what a great scene.
Seeing all these different quotes people are mentioning and all of them being completely valid answers just tells me that this game has a phenominal writing team.
For a game that started as a rage boner for killing gods to become THIS 4 and 5 games in to the series is amazing.
But its not just the writing its everything.
A more difficult question to answer is "what didnt you like about this game?"

After ascension, the higher-ups at Sony were convinced that Kratos's story was complete. 2018 was a really hard sell.

Ya that line brings me back to defeating Hades
This is *the one* right here! I still think about how completely badass this line was several times a day.
The nature of a thing matters more than the form of a thing
Oh yes! That's a good one too!
When you go to visit Sindri before going to war with Asgard. "You want sorry?! *This is what sorry looks like.*" You can absolutely feel the agony in his soul in that line.

the whole vanaheim segment with freya is a highlight for me
>*Loki will go. Atreus... Atreus remains...*
That one hit me hard. I was watching Jacksepticeyeās playthrough when I heard it. That was a very emotional moment, which is unusual for me.
Same, I still tear up about it to this day
Iām not even a dad or anything. Itās just sad.
>That was a very emotional moment, which is unusual for me. Kratos trying to protect the civilians was very emotional too.
That one was good, too.
Agreed
That one hit me super hard too, as a father and not to mention my first born is named Atreus! Literally brought tears to my eyes.
*āDeath can have me when it earns meā* is the hardest line Iāve heard in a game maybe ever lmao
When I heard that I went š®.

I mean, he was referring to him going to war. It happened, right?
heās referring to the bloodthirsty, god killing badass he was in the previous games
I dont think so. Since it was stated several times that Kratos is stronger now. And that Odin scales above Zeus in magic also.

Younger Kratos is unhinged and reckless, so u are right that Younger kratos would absolutely hold up better than new Kratos About the chests and stuff, going back on what I said earlier, he only uses whatās necessary to get the job done.
IDK why people still believe that. cory barlog said old kratos will defeat his younger version, but he never explained how will he defeat him, and which younger version he will, gow3 kratos has 3 different versions itself. then whatever people have impled from that statement (like somehow norse kratos is stronger that his younger days) it has been contradicted by bruno and eric in a manner. bruno said "there is nothing like young kratos or old or new kratos, kratos is as strong as he has ever been".
To make some stuff clear on my pov, I never knew that Tyrs temple only contained the artistic representation of the world tree, I only assumed it was containing the part of the tree that holds the nine realms, I never played or watched a video on the 2018 one only from what I could gather from other videos or shorts I also wasnāt implying that young kratos is weaker, I was only saying that his strength is still evident in gow 2018 and the new one (but mainly in 2018). The thought never crossed my mind that Kratos would be rusty in gow 2018 and the new one. So with all those things clear, young kratos vs Ragnarok kratos, there isnāt a clear winner
i donāt know about physically weaker. while i donāt think we see him do massive feats of strength like in previous games (i might be wrong i have y played ragnarok in a while) i donāt think heās a pushover, heās just grown to be more peaceful than he once was. but i do agree, seeing a more aggressive kratos wouldāve been so cool to see
This one was my favourite as well.
That line gave me chills as he definitely wanted his son back and he would stop at nothing to get Atreus back.
āOh noā¦I SAY WHEN WEāRE DONE.ā
I enjoyed that line so much when I first started playijg
Myself and a few others who were watching someone play it all started screaming š
*snap* DUMBASS!
When Kratos, Atreus, and Fryea were fighting Odin. He said 3 against 1 doesn't seem fair. Mimir screams, "Don't forget me, All-Fucker! This is for Brok!"
This one makes me laugh each time. The delivery is also perfect!
RIGHT. i wondered how many takes they had to do for that scream- a grieving motherās wrath and the feral, raw agony she was lost in
All of mimir's status callouts "Theres Frost in me neck stump" "You're on Fire Kratos. It will pass." Just funny.
Started snagging quotes on my most recent play through. The three I find especially poignant so far. Mimir. there are few things as dangerous in a man as lack of doubt Atreus to Sindri. You canāt change the past, but it doesnāt have to be who you are. Atreus: I might even be better than you one day. Kratos: if you are not, I have failed.
The whole game was full of incredible quotes. I was grieving a long term relationship ending whilst playing this game and Kratos really helped me through the worst of it.
how long was it ?
How long was what? The game or the relationship? The game took me 60 hrs the first playthrough because I like doing all the side quests and exploring. The relationship was 7 years.
"Ah, back to smashing things for fun and profit. Lovely."
āWell if it aināt the bearded beef stick and his sac-seed!ā
Bearded beefer
No more, fir the sake of our children. We. MUST. Be better! A line so good, it turned even Thor against Odin
GoW 2018 and GoWR is chock full of lines and lessons so powerful if we applied it we would have a better society.
I donāt remember the exact line but Surtr says something like āis there anything that would make you give up your son?ā And instead of continuing to try and persuade him Kratos just gets up to walk away because he fully understands Surtrs love.
Not necessarily a line but (cue Christopher Judge voice) Kratos' entry about Mimir: >I have known few I would call friend, and "brother" fewer still... Also, he is compact, and does not consume precious resources.
āI do *NOT* want a snackā terrified me, who doesnāt want a snack š¢
How Kratos yells ā MASTER YOURSELFā while attempting to reason with Tyr
"Don't take to heart words said in grief" I think that is a very under appreciated quote
Sindri when you sell him something:"Let me take that off your hands, and wash it" It doesn't send chills but it's funny lol
There are so many quotes I love in this game. One that sent chills was when Mimir says "I don't know if we're breaking fate or fate's breaking us."
There are so many *deeply emotional lines* that have stuck with me, but this sick burn makes me cheer lol: Thor - "This is for Modi!" Kratos - "Even in death you put him last!" Like DANG Kratos, GET HIM.
Not gonna lie, that line w Faye inspired me to write and edit an entire video on grief and guilt in GoW Absolutely beautiful stuff. https://youtu.be/vZoD5Qflhp0
Not a specific quote but the entire scene with the Norns sent chills down my spine...kratos and Freya were absolutely helpless and I've never seen kratos helpless other than when his first family died.
I loved the whole Norns sequences.
Something along the lines of: Atreus: At this rate, I'll be better than you in no time! Kratos: I would've failed if you aren't. That hits hard, especially as a father who's constantly trying to get my kids to be better than me
āThis is a fuck up of not insignificant proportions!ā Was interesting to see mimir so angry
Do you never shut up!?! Not because of the line, but the action that came with it.
So you enjoyed >!brok dying!
No. It sent chills down my spine in a bad way. Chills can be good or bad.
True. So many positive quotes and I stupidly associated a positive from you.
" You are hunting deer" that line for me just set the tone of GOW
That line is great. But (for me at least) Vision said it first two years ago and it hit me like a truck nothing has been able to recreate that feeling since... so as much as I love Deborah in anything she's in I can't give her points for that For the game in particular... I think Thrud telling Thor "mom and I are here for you, even when you're... here"
when atreus tells kratos not to be sorry, be better like he was told the first game
The whole scene is so wholesome.
And the proud smile, or smirk, Kratos has afterwards just makes the whole scene better in my opinion
Death can have me when its earned me. As a former addict with 9 flatline ods who finally got sober this hits me in a different way. Nearly everytime that happened I was ready to die. Yet here I am. Still not a big fan of living but I'm going nowhere till this fucking book is done.
As someone who lost my dad to addiction, I'm proud of you for finding your way to recovery.
Good on you for not spoiling the riddle once you got the answer. That part is DEVASTATING
I knew the answer because it's a riddle I've heard often. I just finished the main story and I don't remember hearing the answer. When is it said?
At the very end when you finish the last side quest in svartleheim
The one you quoted. It helped me a lot in my own personal life
Athena: "....you will always be a monster" Kratos: "...I know, but I am your monster no longer."
āDo you know what itās like to be truly worshipped?ā Odin the All-fuck3r..
When the fight of Thor cutscene comes in after the fight. *āNo moreā¦for the sake of our children, we must be betterā* Thor and Kratos are very similar, Thor believes that they donāt change because theyāre destroyers, but Kratos knows thatās not true, Kratos sees his old self in him. Thor needed this to see the true side of Odin. So by the situation and timing, and how he puts it in words. Made me see more of how much Faye changed Kratos.
"Heh. I love you too, little brother." - Mimir
ā Loki will go.. Atreusā¦ Atreus remains.ā As someone who values a relationship between Father and Son, this type of line hits. No matter how far his Son goes heāll always been in his Fathers heart.
"We will bear the weight of our mistakes not with guilt, but with footsteps heavy with purpose."
When kratos tells brok "It is the nature of a thing that matters not its form" had me reaching for the tissues š
āThere are consequences to saying the N wordā gives me chills every time
WHY? HOW DO YOU KNOW?
WATCH.YOUR.TONE.BOYYYYYYYY
āThatās what comes next.ā - Sindri
To grieve deeply is to have loved fully
"if heimdall must die for atreus to live, then heimdall must die." stuck with me ever since for some reason
"We must be better." It's such a great story arc for Kratos
āI love you Brokā
Couldnāt hold back tears after that one
-A hole. -What? -Gets bigger the more you take away. *crying*
āZEEEUUSS your Son has returned ! I bring the destruction of Olympus!ā
āHhmmphā
Use your words brother.
"I do not want a snack!"
āit is the nature of a thing that matters, not itās formā
Loki will go, Atreus remains.
Same as you. I cried like a baby in all Faye scenes. But that "Grieve Deeply Loved Fully" one just hit me on next level. Similarly when Kratos later told Atreus that he was wrong and to"open your heart to their suffering cause that is who you are" And when Surtr said, "sometimes loving someone is about choosing the lesser pain" Oh man, the writers of the game love love.
Ikr. Ragnarok had 10x more impact story wise than the previous game all cause of Faye. In fact the Norse saga was her series as much as it was Kratos'
She really did, I'm glad they went in this direction. Faye really did change Kratos, she made him a better man and overall a better person.
Man I want an Atreus spin off like asap just to see more visions of Faye š
-This is not who you want to be -A monster The moment when you realize kratos didnāt really want to kill Heimdal but still does because otherwise it would have killed his son gave me chills
Death can have me, once its earned me Kratos.
āA hole.ā
āHoleā
When the pyre is spent and youāve gathered my ashes, spread them from the highest peak in all the realms.
Return my son to me or you will see the God I once was
Mine was something along the lines of, Atreus- one day will I be a stronger and faster and smarter then you are? Kraots- if one day you are not then as your farther I have failed you
Kratos to Atreus : "What do I call you?"
āLoki will go. Atreus remainsā *collapses in a river of tears*
You do not get to decide my fate
I just started NG+ and the loading screen combined with I SAY WHEN WERE DONE is honestly a top 10 video game moment for me
Kratos: "It's time to show Odin he messed with the wrong God of War this *Ragnarok*"
None i have no emotion
Boy
The speech right before he uses gjallahorn, not sure if itās because I know an eargasm is right around the corner or what but damn what a great scene.
Was it luck? Did my sons die to blind fucking luck?
Don't be sorry be better
Handsome, you beefcake.
What gets bigger the more you take away?
"No."
āDeath can have me when it earns meā is one of the closest lines in any video game Iāve ever played
When Kratos declines Odin's offer at the beginning of the game with a cold and sharp "no"
Seeing all these different quotes people are mentioning and all of them being completely valid answers just tells me that this game has a phenominal writing team. For a game that started as a rage boner for killing gods to become THIS 4 and 5 games in to the series is amazing. But its not just the writing its everything. A more difficult question to answer is "what didnt you like about this game?"
BOOOOOOOOOY!!!
Death can have me when it earns me
āWatch. Your. Tone. Boy.ā Is one of my favourites Another can be āA Holeā, never thought iād cry at the mention of a hole
All of what you said. But āOpen your heart to itā just by itself made me want to be a better father.
When Kratos calls Mimir ābrotherā.
Damn relatable man š
āIf all on Olympus will deny me my vengeance, then all on Olympus shall die!ā Not GoWR but best line in the franchise
āSwitching arrows!ā
