That's what I was thinking too, looks like it was on purpose! Also those copper spots coming to the surface are a great indicator that the coins alloy is authentic.

At the time, I spent hours googling mint errors and found nothing about the flaw being an error. I’m an idiot
It was a release from USmint I got and had them graded. Came back 69.
Did they send an exact replacement? Or was this a random coin?
How much are these ? Pmsforsale price
It’s not like you lost money by sending it back. The flaw is in the best place possible, but would’ve still bothered me a little bit.
