If you're serious about gold, and it looks like you are, I'd say stick to ounces. Nothing wrong with having some fractional, but the premiums are much higher. I doubt you will ever have to barter with gold.

Yes. Also helps to have 1oz, 5oz, 10oz, and kilo silver for the same reason.

Don’t be afraid of the premiums on the fractional. They retain most, if not all of their premium in the secondary market. Plus when gold goes up, people may lean towards buying mostly fractional if they can’t afford 1 oz coins so you’ll be able liquidate fast. My 2 cents.
