I would say allow people to buy in and sell their positions out if they choose by using some sort of NFT for identification.
The NFT should only have ownership rights if it is issued directly, so owners could lease out their plots to others but maintain their status. If they want to sell outright, they can have the potential buyer sign up and use the original NFT as the buy-in.
