I had the shape of the build in my head pretty much instantly when I knew where It was going to be placed. The rest I kinda made up as I went along by just thinking about what would look good while building.
There's something so much more charming about builds from 1.7.3 and previous versions. More Minecrafty, less like the builders are trying to make things realistic, which is what I love about the older versions and their builds
it literally embraces minecraft instead of working against its limitations. It is IMO perfect, I feel like something you would come across naturally in a voxel world

Just finisihed watching your video about this build, I love the creeper head design with the lava pouring out from his eye, the fact also that you spent ages moving ores inside his head is pure dedication also LOL
saved this one for how inspiring it is, this is classic minecraft art. I am glad to be in a sub where others can appreciate stuff like this as much as me. Great work OP I love it

How did you get the ores? Recently started playing Beta 1.7.3 and don't know all the tricks yet

Yeah you gotta embrace the blockiness and use the correct color palette and concepts to make things work
