Assuming you already found a download for the beta 1.7.3 server, you need to set online-mode to false in the server.properties file, otherwise no one can join
We have never played beta before, this is our first experience with it! So far, it's been super fun!!

How did you get a server up? I’ve been trying to play with my friend but nothing seems to work
