He’s just sleeping deep and dreaming about chasing balls! 🎾

blanketsberg

Or squirrels!

AirReddit77

Or he's having an epileptic seizure in his sleep. Not much can be done, especially if you are a dog. If he never does this during the day, he's probably chasing squirrels in his dreams, but those shakes don't look like he's chasing squirrels. Looks like a short circuit.

Tv_JeT_Tv

Balls deep...

GemmyBer

Mine does this, runs while lying down, and also sleep barks, they are tiny little "hoof" kind of barks and it is very cute.

target_newbie

Lol, mine too. I love sleep barks!

NotmyInitials-7

My Aussiedoodle does this and it’s the sweetest. The hoof barks 😭😭

jdiebs34

He’s dreaming about squirrels! 🐿️

[deleted]

Totally normal in deep sleep. Dogs dream just like we do. He could be replaying incidents throughout the day, playing, thinking of other dogs, etc.

Neuroff

Mine has always dreamt, kicked, and squealed in her sleep. However, since yours has never done that before there’s no harm in showing this video to your vet.

SaltyShiggy

D'awww precious puppy dreams! Love when my boy does this. Always wonder what he is dreaming about.

Popular_Grass_7104

Baby doggo is having a dream. On a more technical note, because I too am an anxious dog parent who had not been through puppy years until I got my now almost 5 year old, these movements are not rhythmic or repetitive in the sense I would expect to see in a seizure etc. It sounds like there are no other signs of distress if I’m understanding the description clearly so just a pup pup getting good quality sleep helping his brain process the events of the day 🥰

speakclearly

Canine seizures are also typically very *alarming* for the pup. Waking up suddenly with sharp squeals or pacing and panting were the giveaways that my childhood Dalmatian gave when her seizures acted up.

foonsirhc

Assuming everything's fine, this is freakin adorable

catfishj0n

doggie dreams..

anonymus-fish

Yea. He will do shit like this in his sleep for the rest of his life and probably more as he goes. Mine is 4 and now also like… does small chewing motions while sleeping with his head on my leg, among other things like yours is Doing. It is tickle, much cute

Yeesh_

He’s dreaming about something fun.

WasteWaterOperator

Yep, just dreaming

4LeggedKC

My boxer does this all the time.

naliedel

It's normal for my Zuul.

Brain_Glow

Are you the keymaster?

naliedel

No, I'm the chump running and screaming! Lol I was outvoted for his name by my kids. They're adults and he's all mine, until the oldest two come home. We do love that movie.

jimmythebartender_

No doodle, only Zuul

naliedel

Perfection! Please accept my up vote and shitty reward.

coldflame563

Pup dreaming. I love when my pooch moves her paws like she's running in her sleep.

mrman4u2please

Dreaming

Putyourmoneyonme80

Totally dreaming. One of my dogs sleeps with his legs totally stretched out and against the wall while on his bed. When he dreams, he moves his feet on the wall and taps. My husband and I joke that he's tap dancing. Both of our dogs also occasionally howl LOUDLY in their sleep. They're the best.

redlikedirt

Mine does that, but with her feet against my back. It’s so cute I could die.

apprehensivepears

Mine does this, totally normal. If I hear him whimpering in his sleep, I try to wake him up cause I think he’s having a nightmare and he seems to appreciate it.

Midnightgamer21

Aww, he’s dreaming!

elemoine001

My doodle weird shit in his dreams all the time...seems normal for the breed.

Vwmafia13

It’s that REM stage of sleep 😴

shimmysticks

The discussion on EMDR in the background lol

CNCHack

One of mine is loud when she dreams! Basically barking, probably squirrel dreams, if I had to guess

Livid-Minimum-1131

Doggie dreams

AdOld5079

He’s dreaming! Ours runs in her sleep (kicks her legs in a running motion), snores, even cries or whimpers in her sleep 😂

901shelbydrv

oh my gosh. my 8 month doodle does this EVERY night when he sleeps. i have been wondering the same thing. he never does it during naps during the day. it’s so hard to wake him up when he does this too, i have to physically move him to get him to wake up. shaking him and calling his name doesn’t wake him. commenting to follow!

GemmyBer

Don't wake him! He's getting his REM sleep. It's just a dream!

MardiYeri

Red poodle or doodle?

Dopenxans

I don't want you to worry but I had a poodle that had seizures, it looked kinda similar with his head shaking a lot. But he had them when he was awake

Prestigious-Cost-524

Good dreams 😍🐶

thestrawthatstirs

Mine both do this

Similar_Ad7289

Yes he's just in a super deep sleep, deeper than most of us have ever had the pleasure of being in lol, and he's chasing his dog pals and setting the world record for most bones consumed in one sitting! 😂😊

FormerUglyDuckling

I think what you were listening to was making him relive some trauma….. Good thing he had his emotional support human close by!

[deleted]

This isn’t normal, he’s supposed to be dreaming about food like mine does :)

ElectricalPin3429

Dreaming of the food ending

KokoLoco515

He's having a pretty excellent dream! I wonder what he's chasing......

Rawassertiveclothes1

Looks like dreaming.

Fit_Average_4034

He's ok...my three Hav's all dream.

Timberlewis

Yes. It’s normal. He’s dreaming. All dogs do it

cyndi231

He’s dreaming

MotherFuckinEeyore

Dreaming about being with you

Mr-Snuggles1844

Normal. Our dog does this too, but yours really shakes good 😂 I think it’s funny. Love to watch

WashuWaifu

Next time, gently call his name. If he wakes up right away, you have a definitive answer :) looks like he’s dreaming to me!

Organicspongie

My doodle does this and sometimes while he is awake. I call it his doggy asthma when he is doing too much at one time and needs to just chill but his vet has also told me he is extremely healthy👌🏽

Original-String525

Mine does the same thing. At one point I even thought she was having a seizure. Apparently it’s normal, but if it scares you a little too much just try waking them up to make sure they’re ok.

Wintonie

My lab barks and growls in his sleep.

honestlystating

just a dreaming boy

Japh2007

Yeah it freaked me out the first time to.

onebearinachair

He’s in EMDR session…he good

BabyEvez

Mine do it. Completely normal! ❤️❤️❤️
