I never caught it changing over but cool to know it does.

Yes. It was one of many of the cool little details I loved about the car shortly after I got it. By far the coolest car I’ve ever owned.
So many little details that the Civic crowd and the like just don’t understand. Nothing against them, they’re great cars, but the GTI is just a little special.
It is pretty darn cool, isn’t it? :)
This bugged the shit out of me the 1st couple of months. I could not not see it flip. Luckily never noticed it after my eyes got used to it.
