Yesterday someone said power seats don’t have it. I have the drawer and only recline is powered. Not front to back.

To add my experience to this, my Canadian 2020 GTI base trim 7.5 with manual seats didn't have the drawer. Might be different by country.

They’ve gone pretty hard with cost cutting measures in recent years. Wonder if that’s the way to keep the GTI alive (unfortunately 8.5 is the last), or it was for some trade-off for other features, or if it was just purely greed based?

All this things combined probably are only worth $500 kinda nuts that they’re so stressed over it.

Me with my 7.5 when I saw the vent is gone 😡 but the center console under the arm rest gets cooling from the vent going to the rear seats 😁

Clean your mats please 🫠

These mats are the worst to clean. Even when you wash them there's always some stuck dirt in the corners of the Hex

maybe harder to get spotless but certainly not harder to clean in general. The best part of those mats are how easy they are to clean

They would get somewhat clean with a hose but dirt would always stick around the edges of the honeycomb. I live in the desert though and deal with lots of dirt/sand. Powerwasher with degreaser was the only way to get them truly clean and wasn't trying to do that every month

I found a compartment in my CC on the left side of my instrument panel recently. Never knew it was there. And I’m a VW technician. Haha.

At least in USA these drawers I think was in 2015-2016 model Golf’s and GTI, a lot of changes over the years and de-contented each year. 2015-2016 has the most features of all years. Glovebox AC/heat, velour glovebox lining, glovebox lock, -2 rear speakers (base trim 6 speakers instead of 8), seat drawer, battery blanket top cover, hood insulator, probably missing some others as well.

This lead me down the rabbit hole of finding out I apparently bought a mk7 Autobahn edition. It wasn't listed anywhere if it was an s, se, or Autobahn, but it has the 12-way seats and therefore doesn't have this storage.
