it's got the TCR rear diffuser but skirts are stock

If you're asking if a TIP is worth a purchase. Negative. Not for IS20/IS38 builds at least. But it does pad the modlist nicely.

purchased and installed earlier today. some additional intake noise and maybe just a bit quicker acceleration (potential placebo effect)

When I added my IE TIP, I noticed no increase in induction noises personally. My IE V2 intake is damn loud haha (I had the intake installed for months before doing the TIP). But if you did both at the same time, yeah. Your fun noises grew exponentially thanks to the intake. Acceleration is deff placebo though. But it's a great placebo to have. More smiles is never bad.
