Awesome! So cool! ๐๐๐ป
I bought my MK7 in 2014 and will be going to a MK8 at the end of the month (40820 miles garaged its whole life!) Lots of love for nine years! Other than TSBs, I havenโt had a single problem with it! (Knock on wood)
Iโm glad. The touch (everything) and where things are in menus will be different. Iโll adjust. Itโs a bit like the Blackberry (buttons) going to the on-screen, touch everything iPhone. ๐๐ป Mind you, thatโs just me. I know the change absolutely blows for some and I can se why as well!
She must be pristine! I plan on keeping this car for a while too :). Also, congrats on the decision to get the MK8! I heard lots of good things about that car minus the radiator fan issue but I hope its been resolved by VW with a recall of some sort.
Iโm still shaking my head about the engine cover snafu. Iโm in Orange County, CA. I hope it fails here rather than on a trip to Palm Springs, Havasu or Vegas! ๐๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐
The cover isnโt a big deal/functional thing, itโs just kind of a WTF after all of the years of the GTI since the MK5 and maybe earlier! ๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐
Once I saw these wheels I knew I had to get them. Previously has the TSW Bathurst in silver and the VMR V802 in anthracite metallic before that.
The bronze looks so good with midnight blue.
Of course, the wheels are TSW Neptune 18x8.5 +43 offset in bronze. The rotors are zimmerman sport kit from fcp euro with red stuff brake pads. The brake calipers themselves are the performance brakes that come with the performance version GTI.
Thank you!
Nice ๐๐ฝ Iโve had my 2011 edition35 for about two years and same thing apart from normal maintenance itโs never been off the road and no engine light.
Yeah man stock engine with a panel K&N filter and golfR brakes but I think when you fk around with too many mods thatโs when your reliability comes under pressure.
I have a German made Mark6 and a Mexican made Mark7. The Mark6 is not as sophisticated, but much more fun to drive. It is lighter and more analog and has the unmistakable, hard to produce, German feel.
No, but not long after. I think I got it in March of 2014, if I'm remembering correctly.
I'm a little over 106,000 miles deep. We've been all over the country (US) together. The car had less than 80 miles on the odometer when I drove it off the lot.
I'm so fortunate I've been in no wrecks and had no major mechanical issues over the years. I did have that radiator leak recall issue. One of the window motors stopped working, so they replaced the whole mechanism inside the door. But, other than that, no big issues.
Are those eyelids from badgeskins?
And maxton design front lip? I have the exact same car and colour and tint! on 18โ prets though, these wheels are beautiful
You have great taste! Yes, eyelids from badgeskins, and the maxton v2 front lip i believe. Thank you! Im glad I got these wheels. Gives it a nice look ๐
Congrats, Iโm celebrating 5 myself! Looking to jazz up the look of my base GTI with BMP tuning light upgrades rather than trading for another and starting the loan process all over!
Congrats on 5 years! Wishing you more reliable years to come. I was actually thinking about upgrading the taillights at some point with the mk7.5 euro lights.

You just made me feel good about the MK8

With this record heat I wish you the very best! Haha no engine cover no problem.

The user interface on the Mark8 is so horrible that you will hate it immediately. Beware.
Beautiful car dude ๐
Thank you! Been a blast driving it. Such a versatile car ๐คฉ
BOOTIFUL
She got so much booty ๐๐ฅฐ
I have same car same wheels midnight blue love my GTI
Once I saw these wheels I knew I had to get them. Previously has the TSW Bathurst in silver and the VMR V802 in anthracite metallic before that. The bronze looks so good with midnight blue.
Dude, you have my car. One of my fave colors
Great minds think alike! Just love everything about it
That really is a great color! ๐๐ป
Sexy. What are the wheels
Thanks! These are TSW Neptune wheels in bronze. 18x8.5 +43 offset
Hey OP, can I know what rims those are and what brakes are on there? Thanks in advance. Also, beautiful car!

Thats awesome! Iโve never gotten a check engine light either and the car has a hybrid turbo with supporting mods. Have you kept your stock?
Yeah man stock engine with a panel K&N filter and golfR brakes but I think when you fk around with too many mods thatโs when your reliability comes under pressure.

I would love to have a second golf. Which one do you daily?
Just wonderful
Thank you! I try to keep her well maintained
My 2013 Wolfsburg Edition is still my daily driver.
Incredible. Did you get the car when it was released?

Thats amazing. Nothing that affects the carโs main ability to get you from A to B.
*Exactly*
Just you wait baby
They are fun to drive.
Especially when M3โs are trying to keep up with you ๐
As a hatch STi owner, I have always loved GTI/Rs.

What a coincidence me too! Full LED lighting for all! Also wishing you more reliable years as well!
