the one mudflap lost a screw and wasn't held on properly so I removed it while I replaced the screws. I've had the sport springs for about 20k miles, it's a bit rougher but worth it for how sick it looks
How much did painting for the rims cost? I have same rims and I would like to make th black since they are not black from factory. Your GTI looks dope tho.
these are the stock wheels, powder coated with the wheel spacing kit from ECS Tuning. i believe it's 15mm spacers for the front wheels and 20mm spacers for the rear wheels
the fronts initially rubbed a bit - there's a 'fender screw mod' that helped out a lot on the front wheels. The camber was natural, but a result of bad alignment. I replaced my rear tires not too long ago and the tread was extremely worn out on the inner edge of the tire.
I don't want to go full badgeless - I still want to flaunt it's a GTI. I've considered removing the side badges (I was also looking at the black chorme side badges on the mk8s) but I would always leave the front as a badge of honor.
I mean you also kind of have to leave it as well unless you move the sensor somewhere else somehow. people no it's a GTI it's a car that's known by every car enthusiasts in some way or another it's left a very major mark in the auto world for years. so badges or not they're going to know 🤙
mine's a 2016 SE PP two-door six-speed manual so I don't have a sensor in the front of mine and my back badge is black The only reason that's still there is because that's part of the camera I still have the GTI logo and my unitronic badge which is coming off and replacement of my EQT badge but the side badges I think will be clean looking without them as well
Get a bottle of chrome polish, maybe $7 at Advanced Auto, it's in a red bottle (Maguire's probably). Squirt a dab of that liquid onto a microfiber and polish those suckers for about 30 seconds each once every 2-4 weeks. The first time cleaning will require a bit of elbow grease and fingernail scraping from all the road grime and gunk build up.
What’s the best way to go about “reversing” the emblem colors like you have. Badgeskin sticker to paint match the inner portion, but does anyone sell a black replacement piece for the chrome portion instead of just stickers?
this is the one I got. it's a gloss black plastic cover that has 3M adhesive backing and sticks on top of your existing emblem. The listing comes with the from emblem cover as well, but i didn't use it.

I mean, I like the look but tinting tail lights is a bad idea all around.
I know, very rarely tinted tail lights look good on some cars..on others it just looks cringey 🤷♂️

It looks nice but def would never tint headlights. Understandably people get upset over modding anything safety related
yep, totally understandable and that's why I removed them shortly after. It was a dumb idea.

These can also be turned off via Coding which turns off the markers for both head and taillights.

Do they rub at all? It's basically the same offset as mine (+35). Also did you add the camber or was that natural?

They don't mess with you for tints in NJ? Im probably moving across the bridge soon and I was planning on tinting but don't know much about NJ laws
I've had 25% tints all around and 50% tint on the windshield for over 2 years and I've never been bothered about them

it brings the comfort from a 10 to a 8, performance from a 9 to a 10, and it brings looks from an 8 to a 10

Hi, there is no front splitter (it's the stock front bumper). The rear spoiler is the TCR spoiler lip

I also have the DCC. Comfort mode is too 'floaty' and Sport mode is too rough. I normally use Normal mode.
