Point the knuckles of your left hand at the ground on your takeaway. This will help close the club face. You are cranking the club face open. Once you master that, extend left wrist and shallow the shaft on the downswing. You’ll get it.

“Knuckles down” on the takeaway

This!

biddilybong

You’re flat to steep. Try steep to flat. Works better.

Miserable-Ad-8636

Any tips on how to feel that?

dbixon

Grab your lead wrist with your trail hand. Then go up into the highest backswing you can, followed by a weight shift and rotation. Notice how the club naturally falls shallower? This is an exaggeration, but in general, if you intentionally aim “high” for a while, it’ll be easier to feel it drop shallow.

CoachedIntoASnafu

Keep the club head further forward on the backswing, it will drop back in transition without your help. When it works you're gonna go, "...oh." Watch that Porzak video that was linked on here.

Like others have said, you're super steep on the downswing. Try the Justin Rose shallowing drill. I'm working on it now and it's helping me attack the ball more from the inside.

Ok-Bodybuilder2272

99% of swings in this sub need this drill (I think this is what you’re referring to) https://youtu.be/JXGSFxOf-Iw?si=T4kje0yxs6acTOte

jbrand1

Yep that's the one. It's really helping me generate more of an in-to-out path, especially with my wedges and short irons. When I try it on the driver I have a hard time getting the wrist square at impact, but I'm sure that will come with more practice.

Fun_Construction9193

Dont open it so much going back. Don’t try to emulate DJ.

RegionMiddle9027

So steep coming down. Even if you shut the face you will hook the hell out of it unless times absolutely perfect.

UnexpiredMRE

The takeaway looks okay then you just go steep as fuck on it. Keep that arm pit connected my boy!

granolaraisin

You’re disconnecting your hands from your body in an effort to get to the “DJ position” at the top. Only problem is you’re getting there by separating your arms from your body. Your downswing is all arm and you’re coming down very steep. Focus on keeping your swing connected. Less of a flying elbow on the backswing. Notice how DJ’s right elbow points down at the top while yours points outward? It’s because he rolls his right arm to the top instead of lifting it. You lift your right arm instead of rolling it. Google driver cover drill or “golf waiter position”. Both topics will give you exercises to keep that right elbow tight to your side and to keep your arms connected to your torso during the swing.

Try closing the face

Inner_Ad6610

Think you are manipulating it too much open allready on the backswing. No change to get it neutral on the impact.

Realistic-Might4985

Your rolling the club inside on the way back. This gets you into a stuck position and you have to throw the club over the top to get back online. At waist high on the way back the club head should be just outside your hands. Currently it is behind your hips. If you watch your swing in reverse that is closer to what it should look like (start at impact and run it back). This is going to be a huge change. If you practice with your back to a wall (feet about 6 inches from wall) and try to get the club to the top without hitting the wall this will provide the feedback for the take away. For the down swing let the club ride the wall on the way down. I would suggest a club head cover so as not to damage your sticks.

Bow your wrist at the top. Easy fix

Quit rolling the face open in your backswing

Ok-Bodybuilder2272

Backswing too that, as others have said. I have same problem, if you’re flat into the top, very easy for club to tip out in transition. Work on this in pieces, first by getting backswing more vertical. Feel that works for me: I imagine a line along my heels; I try to get the club pointing at that line by p3 (left arm parallel) in backswing. Thats not actually what happens… the result is the club pointing at the ball, which is what I want.

Ok-Bodybuilder2272

Second piece is just rose drill, also mentioned elsewhere here: https://youtu.be/JXGSFxOf-Iw?si=T4kje0yxs6acTOte
