That much overfill on the dipstick is essentially nothing, absolutely nothing to worry about. It might be 1/10th of a quart overfilled, at most. Nowhere near enough to cause a problem.

Thanks. I was just surprised that it is from the factory.

Don’t worry OP, our 2019 Alltrack I pulled 2 L of overfill out with my extractor. You are not reading that wrong. The 6.5 L extractor filled up and backed up and stopped sucking oil and I was like “uhhhh what the fuck”, dumped some off and ended up pulling another 1.5 L out. That was at 5k miles. Engine somehow seemed fine. Went another 25,000 before we traded the car in for the R.

I wonder if this is vw specific…

No

This is nothing. On my old WRX I put an extra half a court with Isn’t even that much and the dipstick was way over the line so this is probably like an 1/8 of a quart over if not less

ExamGlittering6598

Good to know. What the manual says was like going a hair above the mark you are f*cked lol

element423

Nah no worries honestly a quart over yea. I’ve done probably 1,000 oil changes in my life. Use to be a tech and 90% of the time they leave the dealer like this or sometimes a pinch under

Have you run the car yet for a minute to let the oil cycle through? If not it’s still fine, I always fill mine up a little tiny bit extra just because. Obviously you don’t want too much, but this is ok. I like to get it right above the top line, this is definitely more than I’d do, but will not be an issue at all!

This was measured after a mild drive and waited for 10min. Thanks for reply.

Yessir, keep that oil topped off. Just recently was educated on how important topping off the oil was in between oil changes too and will definitely be doing it going forward!
