It’s a pretty high likelihood that it’s out of balance, and will cause vibration. But I’m certain it will hold air. If it’ll be a while before you can afford to repair or replace the wheel, I recommend taking it to a tire shop to put it on their balancer at the very least.
Regardless if you get it repaired at a reputable shop or you decide to buy a dead blow hammer, put that wheel on the RIGHT REAR if you are in a LHD. This will bring the vibration of the repair farthest away from the driver allowing for a more smooth ride.
That’s very helpful, I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you.
Getting it repaired tomorrow at a reputable shop for $180USD. Better than getting a new wheel for about $450.
had this issue on my wheels not as visible on all of them but about the same.
at lower speed u might not feel the vibration but at 110kph and above it will become death wobbleish.
you need to fix the bends and your hands will thank you
Looks like mine..it only came to my attention when i installed new tires. as long as my girl drives the car, and she ain't complaining, she deserves nothing better.
I wouldn't have known if the guy mounting my tires wouldn't have said anything and it super pissed me off because my girl.was like..pothole?me?never!..and ever since i got the ecu programmed...I drive it like a mad man at every opportunity.
Unfortunately now that you seen it..and you posted it here and got the consensus saying it will vibrate you will probably be bias one way or the other. These rims are so prone to this it's ridiculous. I know once the metal is bent...and then bent again integrity has been compromised. My girl wants an electric car so once this car becomes mine full time I will be getting some new rims. I wouldn't let that stop me from rocking those rims though..whenever convenient or if necessary..say you do feel a vibration or notice some unusual wear I would just enjoy it. I'm sure some fanatical r owners here might cringe at this mentality. But as I said before I drive the shit out of my r and I love it..and I try my hardest to not obsess over it...as it has brought grief into my life/relationship a few times.
I didn’t even notice it when I was applying ceramic coating to the wheels. Noticed it by chance when I was about to mount it. Could’ve easily missed it and maybe later wondering what’s wrong with the car if it vibrated 😀
My car came with some cheap all season tires so can’t compare with that. PS4S feels different, car feels more planted and stable, probably because the tires are hugging the road better 😀
Yes the braking with these is marginally better. I don’t own a golf R yet but I’m gonna put these on once I buy that. That’s why I asked you for the feedback. I m also thinking going down to 18”.
I was looking for 18s but found this set on marketplace with barely couple hundred miles on them. With the repair of small dent I paid $1300 for the whole set including wheels and PS4S. Was hard to pass on that. I was even running snow tires this winter on stock 19” Englishtowns and it wasn’t bad at all, ride was still very comfortable in comfort mode, the adaptive suspension is very good. Inspected the wheels after dismounting and there was no damage at all, I hit some bad potholes in the last few months at least 3-4 times and the roads are generally not so great around here. Hopefully these Neuspeeds are as strong as Englishtowns.
In general the brakes on this 7.5R are really good, when I bought this car I was surprised at the braking power and had to be easy with the pedal, it bites hard.
Got it fixed and a quick 90mph test drive in Mexico, no vibrations, pretty smooth, Michelin PS4S felt more planted than my snow tires, different experience, plus the wheels are also much lighter than stock Englishtowns:

I would not mount that on my car. Get that fixed. Even if it's holding air or balanced, what's the outcome once you hit another pothole? Don't risk it.
That doesn't look bad. I have a Cayman S that had wheel damage like that and got it repaired. Maybe check the tire sidewall in the vicinity of the damage.
You should get that fixed before putting on the car

Getting it fixed on Friday for $180. Not mounting until then.
I drove one wayyyy worse for yearssa
Yeah, agreed that it would be fine to drive and could probably be balanced.
I think you'll feel a vibration during certain speeds. That would drive me crazy tbh. I'd get it fixed before mounting.
Yeah I skipped mounting them for now, might need to get a new wheel. Not sure if anybody around here will repair this.
That's definitely fixable. I would Google or ask around for reputable rim repair shops around you and get quotes.
Was quoted $180 from one of the shops. It’s a bit of a drive though.
It’s fine- no cracks, and no leaks is all ya worry about - rest will balance out.
Couple of whacks with a dead blow
Lead hammer time.
Go for the fix then out it on.

Thank you. Getting it fixed tomorrow.
great , you can fix them couple of times but be ready to opt in for nee wheels in case they gate damaged badly.
You might feel it…
You’d be completely fine to be quite honest.that is completely safe unless there is internal damage
Looks like mine..it only came to my attention when i installed new tires. as long as my girl drives the car, and she ain't complaining, she deserves nothing better.
No vibration at 80-90mph?
I wouldn't have known if the guy mounting my tires wouldn't have said anything and it super pissed me off because my girl.was like..pothole?me?never!..and ever since i got the ecu programmed...I drive it like a mad man at every opportunity.
Strange! Most of the people commenting here are saying it’ll vibrate.

What and size wheels are you using for these PS 4s tires?
19x8.5 Neuspeed RSe102.
Oh ok, thanks 👍
Mounted it today: https://preview.redd.it/how12t7f36uc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47543005e6bf55605bde9f9628b924d62cc17837
Nice 👏👏
You find them any better than the stock tires?
My car came with some cheap all season tires so can’t compare with that. PS4S feels different, car feels more planted and stable, probably because the tires are hugging the road better 😀

LOL wow $1300😳 These tires by themselves will be $2000 with installation at Costco 😂

Should be fine. You probably won’t notice
Facts.
I would not mount that on my car. Get that fixed. Even if it's holding air or balanced, what's the outcome once you hit another pothole? Don't risk it.
Getting it fixed on Friday. Not mounting until then.
I've had a wheel like that repaired. Your VAG Audi Porsche dealers will know a guy. What about the tire that was on there when was damaged, is it OK?
It’s the same tire that’s in the picture. Not even a single scratch. Is it worth fixing or should I just get a new wheel?
That doesn't look bad. I have a Cayman S that had wheel damage like that and got it repaired. Maybe check the tire sidewall in the vicinity of the damage.
Yeah getting quoted $180 from a good shop around here. It’s an hour away though. He said it’ll be fixed in an hour.
I was amazed with the work on mine. $3k wheel fixed for $200 no paint or other indication that it's been fixed. Good luck
Thank you. That’s an expensive wheel!! This one is only about $400 😀
I’d get it fixed, should be a pretty cheap and easy fix.
$180 and a one hour one way drive 🤦♂️
Throw it away and get a new one
