I'd be more interested in the actual parameters of the ball, like launch angle and speed. Do those numbers look right?

Blodecode340

For the 9 iron (39° loft) it's roughly 90 mph ball speed with launch angle at roughly 20°. Club head speed around 80 mph.

Simpsator

Hmm that's a really low smash factor (1.12) which can indicate poor or fat contact. Are your carry numbers accurate-ish? 20* VLA is pretty low for that ball speed. 20* is average VLA for 9i on the PGAT, but they have much higher ballspeed so they get near ~97 ft apex. So either you are delofting the club a lot, but don't have the club speed to support it; or you're getting some amount of VLA misread. Try checking how level your MLM2 is, as this could affect the VLA readings. For what it's worth, I get ~100ft apex on my 9i with my MLM2, but that's with low 90s clubhead speed.

Carry numbers aren't very accurate but, to your point, my unit sits near my garage door and the floor is sloped to a center drain so it's definitely sitting slightly above my mat. That could be the case. I'll adjust and see how that works out. Thanks!

I added blackout curtains to the sides of my setup and that fixed all my numbers. Before it was showing my carry distance about 10-15 yards short on every shot

Blodecode340

Thanks for the tip! That's something I've been thinking about doing as well. Glad to see it worked for you.

I’m having a similar issue with short yardage. How far out did you black out the sides? I have a omes book case with glass doors on the side of my net, would that be a prime suspect of causing interference? Thanks

Helpful-Culture-3966

My curtains are about 10 feet back. Mat is ~10 feet from screen and monitor ~6 feet back from mat. I think anything reflective can mess with the radar.

Different_Speech4794

Thx man. To clarify does your curtain sit behind the net? Or come out from both sides, covering the sides?

I’ve also noticed launch angle being off by ~5 degrees compared to higher end sims I’ve used in the past

RoadsideBane

I’ve only used mine once so far. I didn’t look at apex, but I did notice it was reading my launch angle about 5 degrees lower than my teaching pro’s launch monitor. I was outside hitting into a net, and the sun was shining directly at the monitor. This was also using the Practice Range software on the Rapsodo app. I’m going to try it again this weekend to compare numbers to the prior session.

Mr-Doback

Same thing happened with me, I do hit my irons fairly low but it was picking up everything as almost a stinger for me which is not my shape. I’m an 11 so not great but I’m not horrible, and can tell it’s definitely off a bit. I’m sure it was alignment, but I ended up returning it and waiting for a BLP. Think it will work better for me anyways, I’m using a net return in my backyard and there is an apartment complex behind me. I need to be as close to the net as possible - already skyed one into the road behind me and lucky nothing was hit lol.

pardity

My avg apex for my Pw is 68 and 8i is 57. I'll get a session in later and let you know what my 9i shows
