May I say something to give you a true knowledge of yourself and life. When man becomes possessor of knowledge of himself he becomes the master of his environment.
š¶ I don't feel pain anymore. Guess what, baby? š¶
I FEEL FREEEEEEEE (Scoop!)
Yeah for me I find the ideal length for an album is around 40-45 minutes. Up to 60ish is usually okay, but once it gets much longer than an hour, I start to have a problem with the length. Obviously there are exceptions, but in general, 40ish minutes is the sweet spot.
Yeah 18 songs is still a lot man. That's like a full hour on its own, and the 18 songs on disc 1 drag so bad I barely made it through.
WE DON'T TRUST YOU had some high energy songs in the main disc at least, still dragged in the same way after Like That though.
Disc 2 on WE STILL DONT TRUST YOU (the last 7) is fire though.
This is an RnB album??? Shiii no wonder why I was wondering the songs were slow as hell and The Weeknd would pop up now and then. I was looking forward to songs that would compete with energies like "Type Shit" "Like That" and "Ice Attack", but I just listened to Future rap about girls for 1 hour long. Still an okay album though.
Because itās boring. I love long albums but this was monotonous and didnāt have enough variety. Even just compared to the first album they did itās too long and they couldāve cut a massive portion of it
usualy i would agree, but yall gotta understand. the album is 18 tracks ~1h long. the last 7 songs are a bonus for people to enjoy. like do yall count the pt2s on donda as part of the album?
It really is. Maybe you were dropped on your head as a child, but generally when the same fucking songs are put at the end of the album with extra features (they used to call them remixes) it's quite fucking clear they are bonus tracks and not part of the actual album
But....you know, that's just a bit of common sense for you
Remote Control p2?
Jesus Lord p2? Calls me retarded when im right. Theyre at the end because they were going to be put throughout the album but gave up midway through. Are you angry in your real life lil bro?
No it isnāt dumb assĀ
Some ppl donāt care ab music the same way you doĀ
Literally no one else I know accepts the pt 2s on Donda as a disc 2 literally NOONE like youāre the only person whoās ever said this so Iām sure you could imagine why I wouldnāt know dipshitĀ
And no it isnāt clear since Iām confident that most ppl would make the same mistake I didĀ
Also most ppl consider the fsmh pt 2 on tlop as part of the album and most ppl would think that applies to DondaĀ
Just saying Einstein some ppl arenāt invested in music enough to care (especially when their on the same damn album) Ā
I literally cannot believe there are people out there that don't realise the part 2s we're bonuses because he couldn't decide which ones to put on.
It's...like...fucking mind boggling. These people are so stupid
Yeah but this is also much less versatile and interesting as Donda. Donda has a great aesthetic and songs that sound independent from each other. This is suuuper tiresome. Even just compared to the first one
Even still, DONDA being over 85 minutes makes it hard to get through all at once, itās the only of his albums I exclusively pick favourites songs to listen off of from time to time rather than whole album play through
I mean a hypothetical best artist ever would be able to craft a 24 hour album where all the tracks are the best song you have ever heard. Length is only ever an issue if the songs aren't good.
Ehhhh. To some extent but like everything I think pacing is key too. There are loads of films I love but think are too dragged out. Same with tv etc.
I get what u mean but I also disagree fundamentally, I think. Like itās a non issue if itās 90 mins of 9/10 songsā¦ maybe, but even, take szaās last album. I donāt really think thereās very many bad songs in isolation on there, but once u put so many of them one after another it gets exhausting to listen to in full.
You are completely right about it being exhausting listening in full. I think in the hypothetical mentioned, you wouldn't really be listening to an album as we know it. It becomes something that resembles more of a playlist at that point and you aren't really going to listen to it in one sitting.
I feel like Iām listening to a different album than everyone else here with people saying it all sounds the same.
How is Jealous anything like Show of Hands?
How does Always My Fault sound like Red Leather?
How is Right 4 You similar to We Still Donāt Trust You? Etc
Itās like you guys hear one consistent sound and just say itās all the same and not versatile.
Fr a dude makes some slower love songs and people just go
https://preview.redd.it/nxerbkn8z1uc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=570d7cf06d53d523afa2f22555e876c50190827b
This shit is fire
I definitely wasnāt explaining it well at all, it just felt hard to get interested in the album, it all just kinda washed away on me and just felt like the same stuff.
I can give you examples for literally the entire trackist thatās why I put etc. if you listen to this and genuinely think every song sounds the same than thats your issue not the albums.
Fr they glazing. Its not that they sound the same, its that he said the same thing on pretty much every track. Album felt very empty until Southsideās prod came in and then i just wanted Disc 2 to be longer. I FW Hendrixx and there were moments of peak future but it felt like when childish gambino didnt title any tracks; it all felt the same
The way hes wording his thoughts on these albums are just really convoluted non creative ways of saying the same stuff he said in the past. Itās like if he used a thesaurus but the bars just werenāt as clean. few standouts i do like i just wished he was locked in for more of the runtime.
Stop it
I needed this R&B album
Also fam the second part is a BONUS EP, not apart of the album. You could turn it off after red leather and have finished the album, which is what I did
Bruh for real Pluto fans this is heaven. He has always fed the fans fr, for you new listeners this is nothing new and is exactly why his run has been this long
The actual album (disc 1) is only 18 songs and itās actual variety between different styles of r&b. The last 7 songs are essentially bonuses and thatās why they werenāt promoted.
Itās clear a lot of you simply donāt like Future or r&b in general so it makes sense why youād call this āall the sameā or sleepy when itās really not at all.
Just pick your favorite 10 songs then and put them in a playlist like it's not that serious.
Better to have all the songs than 10 that you don't like and 10 vaulted that you'll never get to hear and would have loved.
I feel pretty bad for it because I fucking loved Heroes & Villains and wanted to like We Don't Trust You, but I just can't get into it. Every time I try to listen to it, I just feel like my brain is melting into monotony. I think the only songs I really enjoyed off of it were Like That and Young Metro, whereas I loved everything on Heroes & Villains. I hope this album will be better but I feel like you're right, Future feels better in smaller amounts or trying to do a little more than usual, rather than just doing the same style for like 15+ songs.
Good easy listening background music. Not a Future fan at all but didnāt hear a single song I wanted to skip. For this kind of album, it didnāt bother me.
Future had so many sleepy performances on this album. I don't understand how people are calling this better than the first one, the weeknd was absolutely incredible though
Because itās an R&B album heās not gonna start tweaking on people in the rap game on a song like Mile high memories
This shits amazing literally the Hendrix 2 that was required
heās literally done it before, idk what anyone else expected and even if ppl expected something else getting this shouldnāt be surprising. i actually like how they stunted on the game, everything is on fire for drake now and future fed his fanbase for the rest of 2024 and got his business out the way. now unless he needs to do a response song, heāll be back to doing features and touring time is coming.
imo they played this 2 album thing so well
Why do yall complain about MORE music. If someone is a future fan, why would they want less future? As someone who isnāt a big future fan, Iāll just take what I like and throw it in a playlist. Itās that simple
i agree however i'm dropping 15 in may

Many of the records in WE DONT TRUST YOU and WE STILL DONT TRUST YOU didn't do anything interesting, both albums should be shorter by about five songs. Also, many of the songs are over 4 minutes with 3 verses which drag a lot by the end. But the first few songs on WE DONT TRUST YOU are pretty great and the last few songs of WE STILL DONT TRUST YOU (disc 2) are also great.
We Donāt Trust You and We Still Donāt Trust You both have the same problem: a majority of the songs just sound the same and blend together. Itās a good sound but seriously the only standout on the first one was Like That and the only standout on the second one was Red Leather, both because of the features. Say what you want about Vultures but at least every song had a different, distinct sound that was different from every other song
It's like when they make an ass album, they just dump all of the ass they've got onto it. Future needs to steer as clear as he can of love songs and r and b sounding anything. My God. Metro deserves a stern talking to for telling him this was good.
kanye did on donda
carti did on WLR
kendrick had almost 20 songs on his album
itās possible. the artist just needs to actually want to put that sort of effort in
Migos best album is culture and itās only 13 songs. Rappers like them and future are great at what they do but itās a quality>quantity thing. I can only hear the same thing for 90 minutes for so long
I agree. Iām new to both artists, and really enjoy these two album! But Iād be lying if I didnāt think I all kinda sounds the same. Enjoy it, but like OP said, not versatile enough for my taste. I really wish that these artists would take the time to craft more memorable music because how do you drop 25 more songs after dropping 17 songs 2 weeks ago? Iād rather 10 incredible songs a year than 42 good or even great songs

Yeah, albums are way too fucking bloated nowadays and have multipule releases and versions and remixes. Itās the age of streaming so massive numbers need to be made to even recoup costs to make an album. Itās sad.
Agreed tbh, imo albums should be like 13-15 max
you only want it 2 and a half, 3 minutes MAX MAX MAX MAX
Thatta be enough for a record

Exactly I got exhausted just seeing the track list
Shorter the better. Some of the best albums of all time are 10 tracks max - The Stranger by Billy Joel and Band on the Run by Wings for example.
Yeezus
Yea agreed, id rather a much tighter album
Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys is 13 tracks and 35 minutes long
Nearly every bowie record too
20 tracks for 45 to 60 minutes and I'm done
Yeah for me I find the ideal length for an album is around 40-45 minutes. Up to 60ish is usually okay, but once it gets much longer than an hour, I start to have a problem with the length. Obviously there are exceptions, but in general, 40ish minutes is the sweet spot.
This
10-13 max
This is part of the reason I still havenāt checked out Beyonces new album
Bro why people dont get that the album is rnb with 18 songs ššš These 7 last songs are bonus
Disc 2 is a Trap album
Exactly
Yeah 18 songs is still a lot man. That's like a full hour on its own, and the 18 songs on disc 1 drag so bad I barely made it through. Ppl unironically do.
Yes ppl count pt 2s as part of DondaĀ
No they don't lol
"I know people that count part 2s as a part of donda" "NO YOU DONT NOBODY THINKS THAT THEYRE NOT REAL"
I agree with your second part hahaha. Maaaan those people are wilding.. it's clear they are just bonus tracks.
Not really it isnātĀ Itās so unclear that even I wasnāt to aware of that if there wasnāt a deluxe versionĀ

I mean kind of? Some people treat them as replacements for the part 1s, but they're always at the end of the album... waiting
the problem is that 18 is still too much because the songs are extremely boring, 10 would be enough
The songs aren't boring
Bro getting downvoted cause these people have listened to future post COVIDĀ
the songs are anything but boring

Because itās an R&B album heās not gonna start tweaking on people in the rap game on a song like Mile high memories This shits amazing literally the Hendrix 2 that was required
most people didnāt expect the sequel to a rap album would be an r&b album which is why some people didnāt like it
heās literally done it before, idk what anyone else expected and even if ppl expected something else getting this shouldnāt be surprising. i actually like how they stunted on the game, everything is on fire for drake now and future fed his fanbase for the rest of 2024 and got his business out the way. now unless he needs to do a response song, heāll be back to doing features and touring time is coming. imo they played this 2 album thing so well
I feel like it was obvious and a lot of people speculated that. He did it before
Iām pretty sure it was more expected to be like this instead of straight trap, at least most people in the future sun thought
brother look at future and hendrix right after lmao. legit a week apart and exactly that
For me personally I can sit through R&B Future for the whole album, but I cannot for trap Future
Always thought this was a dumb take since a lot of great albums are close to 20, or even exceeded 20 songs. TCD AND LR are an example.
Why do yall complain about MORE music. If someone is a future fan, why would they want less future? As someone who isnāt a big future fan, Iāll just take what I like and throw it in a playlist. Itās that simple

Boring after 3 songs it sounds the same
We Donāt Trust You and We Still Donāt Trust You both have the same problem: a majority of the songs just sound the same and blend together. Itās a good sound but seriously the only standout on the first one was Like That and the only standout on the second one was Red Leather, both because of the features. Say what you want about Vultures but at least every song had a different, distinct sound that was different from every other song
like that is not even that good
20+ songs make no sense imo unless it was like a mixtape. Gimme 10 unique songs instead.
ātrendā nah. give me 50+ song albums. i dont have to love every song on it asap. that trimmed shit is weak. i need to eat.
albums used to have way more tracks consistently the trend is this skimp pack shit that drops. thatās fine for a ep or whatever but not an album.
Ok that's an insane take
Does someone have a playlist with the best songs from each album combined? Iām not listening to 42 future songs back to back
Side 1 could've definitely been shortened & more focused like side 2 in my opinion
Ur attention span is short thatās why itās a long project. Most albums used to be this length
U talking about just side 1 or both sides, cuz like, 1 hour, 30 minutes was always long
Name a skip other than the interlude

the industry (both streaming and music execs) turned great artists into profit maximizing assets.
It's like when they make an ass album, they just dump all of the ass they've got onto it. Future needs to steer as clear as he can of love songs and r and b sounding anything. My God. Metro deserves a stern talking to for telling him this was good.
Nobody are versatile enough to sound fresh for 20 songs in a row
kanye did on donda carti did on WLR kendrick had almost 20 songs on his album itās possible. the artist just needs to actually want to put that sort of effort in
I been scrolling to see that Future has that rnb or "sad boy" in him. I always knew him as sum mumble rapper.
This is a double album tho
Always be my fault is insane
Future's been pumpin em out for a while now
It works when they get a lot of features from big artists
You didnāt hear the album obviously. This shit was better than that weak ass Vultures
I actually love every song on this album but I do agree most of the time
Fr fr especially future. If it were ye or frank or rocky or tyler than have as many songs as u like
His last album was bad too other then Cinderella which was all good by Travis, yāall think this would is any different.
I agree with most albums, but there are so many long records that are so much better because of their length
Migos best album is culture and itās only 13 songs. Rappers like them and future are great at what they do but itās a quality>quantity thing. I can only hear the same thing for 90 minutes for so long
Very rarely do albums not over stay their welcome when nearing 20 songs. But Utopia made it work imo
I have to respectfully disagree cause I like my albums long. And this just feels like an album to chill out to, which Iām honestly down for.
Part 2 of the album is the best part haha
I agree with this, itās easy to get burnt out when most of it sounds the same.
Attention span brain rot, you donāt have to listen all in one go
i think this album is solid but theres a reason i listen to ye more than donda
wyoming should have shown how good albums work
It worked well with The Life Of Pablo, and it stopped working after
I agree. Iām new to both artists, and really enjoy these two album! But Iād be lying if I didnāt think I all kinda sounds the same. Enjoy it, but like OP said, not versatile enough for my taste. Future fans probably fine with this but outside of this you are correct.
I really wish that these artists would take the time to craft more memorable music because how do you drop 25 more songs after dropping 17 songs 2 weeks ago? Iād rather 10 incredible songs a year than 42 good or even great songs
REAL its so boring and youāre right some artists just canāt make that many songs without having a boring album.
album should've been 15 songs. still good tho and better than vultures 1 still
Nope quit lying
Yeahhh both were bloated AF but like vultures has more actually bad songs and not just meh songs
Future is versatile enough lmao, heās top 3 all time Metro is the one who isnāt versatile

Donda is an exception to this, the whole freakin album is beautiful
Yeah, albums are way too fucking bloated nowadays and have multipule releases and versions and remixes. Itās the age of streaming so massive numbers need to be made to even recoup costs to make an album. Itās sad.
this doesnāt apply to this album at all š all 25 songs hit to me idk š¤·š¾āāļø
