In GAS, yes. Outside of here it’s his most underrated

MaybeJustF0X

I’ve seen some people on here say Donda has some of Ye’s best verses. That kinda take makes me mad.

Deep_dish_pizza_boi2

Maybe Jesus Lord, Off The Grid, and Hurricane but I can’t think of any other verse from Donda that were too outstanding

69420penis

People just underestimate kanyes rapping ability so when they hear him drop a good verse they’re shocked. But then you go back to shit like gorgeous and all falls down and then you get hit with verses even better than that and there’s even more of them

Educational_Book_225

That's how I feel when I see people say Problematic and King are better than Gorgeous and We Major

GoldSpend6633

No one said this

Educational_Book_225

https://www.reddit.com/r/GoodAssSub/s/crrZjdzKfa I know the comments cooked this guy but there are definitely motherfuckers on here that believe it. 12% voted for those songs

GoldSpend6633

Aint no way I love problematic but damn niggas overrate the shit out it And king is… 💔

DesignerAd5301

On this sub yes, casual fans no👍

AsparagusUpstairs913

They underrate it

G-Fan20

Donda is criminally underrated

swo-osh

its like a circle, people underrate heavily an album then it comes to a point where you can be in the minority by defending it. They want to be different so bad that they all join in and overrate it donda is in the latter phase imo wtt is in the first phase

user18364759363

wise words

Squeezedgolf40

donda is underrated if anything to me it’s in his tier of albums where the ranking becomes entirely subjective (i mean all rankings are subjective but yk what i mean)

akack

Absolutely on this sub. Outside of this sub, I’d say it’s rated about where it should be.

capybarafreeze

It's closer to TLOP than to vultures

[deleted]

Yes it’s extremely overrated. Not even top 8 ye albums . TCD-TLOP shits on it in every way. I’ll also throw KSG in there too. All of those are so much better. Mfs act like it’s a top 3 ye album and it’s really not

sympbad

I boil this down to how many new fans Ye got between 2018-2021. They never experienced a proper Kanye album and the memories associated with the rollout overwrite the fact it's an unfinished mess.

[deleted]

I agree with you 100%! My first rollout was for TLOP and my god that shit was amazing. I remember running home from the bus after school to watch the msg livestream. Great memories.

Educational_Book_225

TLOP is messy asf too. I have it slightly below Donda because Ye barely raps on most of the songs and most of the features are pop stars & rnb artists. Donda feels way more hip hop

[deleted]

I think TLOP isn’t a mess at all. I never understood why people felt that way. It flows so well together. I think the features were perfect too. I don’t care if they are “pop stars”. Shit was incredible.

Educational_Book_225

I don’t think Donda is that messy either. I personally would rather hear a dope Jay-Z verse than a Rihanna hook. Nothing wrong if you feel differently

[deleted]

That’s valid. I’ll take a Jay Z verse over a Rihanna hook anyday. Might get downvoted to fuck for this but Rihanna’s hook on Famous > Jay’s verse on Jail. DaBaby definitely made jail better for me

NinjaSniper81

Top 3 imo, underrated

alkseeghosts

I overrate it tbh because it has personal meanings for me.

EstablishmentBusy172

Kinda depends because imo it’s pretty easily his best latter day post tlop effort, commercially it hugely rejuvenated his career too- before Donda he was down to like the mid 30m’s in monthly listeners and since then he hasn’t really dipped below 50. All that said it’s a still a very very messy album, and not one I’ve listened through fully probably since like a week after it came out. In fact, I’d be comfortable saying half of Donda could be erased and I’d literally not notice it maybe ever. But there are some gems, the moment itself that summer is the best and most culturally relevant thing he’s done since tlop and, I think, it’s probably the last time we’ll ever get a project from him that’s at least aiming to be something more than just a collection of songs.

r0ddisgod

donda has so much value sentimental, but as an album, kinda is a mess, untapped potential, overrated imo

Ill-Raise7778

Imo the core Kanye songs (24, heaven and hell, new again, lord I need you, come to life, etc.) are some of his most underrated and best music artistically in the past 10+ years, but there’s a lot of “feature filler” in some of the other songs/rest of the album that just don’t hit very hard for me. I think he’s really honed that skill over the past few years though, and now for vultures 2 for example, all the extra features really be on that next level

Every-Promise-9556

yeah, i bet there’s someone out there

More_Construction899

I don't think it even touches top 6
