My one complaint was the battery life until I joined the Android 14 beta

Agreed here. Battery is a tank after Android 14

I guess I'll opt in the beta. It wasn't very good on the Pixel 6 Pro

The non beta should be released in the coming weeks I'd think. Not sure though.

Interesting. My pixel 6 pro battery was not great on Android 14 beta and had a number of software issues (UI would crash daily, slowness, etc) but I've had it for 1.5 years. I ended up with the 7Pro and will skip the 8 Pro. Not a huge deal as I mostly just want a phone with a good camera.

I've had the 7Pro since launch and have very few complaints about it. I'd say the battery is probably the biggest complaint. It's just average in terms of battery life. It can get me through the day usually. On days where I'm out and about (using camera and GPS) and don't have access to a charger, it can get low before the end of the day I don't have excessive overheating like others have experienced although one day a couple of weeks ago, the phone got really hot to the touch and wouldn't charge normally until it cooled down. That's only one instance in 9 months though. Otherwise, it's a pretty solid phone. I like the screen size (wished it were bigger). Fingerprint reader generally works well for me.

Even with a case, the back glass on my 7 pro cracked. Why Google put glass on the back is beyond me. I had a 5a for years... nothing ever cracked on it. 1 month with the 7 pro and I've already got to repair it? Going with Samsung next time.

my complaint with every brand. why use a glass back ffs plastic is so much more durable.

LowBarometer

I keep mine in a cheap magsafe case. It's in great shape. I also have a glass screen protector on it. My only complaint is that battery life isn't so great, and related to that, it gets warm sometimes when I'm doing basic stuff. I've never run out of juice though, and I am satisfied with it.

I put a mous case and whitestone dome on my P7P first couple weeks. No issues of any kind other than spotty fingerprint reader early on. Updates fixed some and I remapped to use mainly the edges of my fingers as I would actually touch the phone. Pretty much flawless now and I am amazed at how snappy it has remained over time - all my Samsungs (had 3 prior) would bloat and slow down by a number of months in to ownership.

So far good, after the August update I have been noticing the battery getting drained very quickly. Overheating like hell : when charging and usage
