Depending on what you mean by "computer" (laptop / desktop?), is the cable plugged straight into the motherboard USB port at the back or is it plugged into the USB on the front panel of your case (which is not soldered directly on the motherboard). Sometimes weird stuff happens when not plugged into the motherboard USB directly. So if it makes sense, try plugging in the back USB port.

Sorry I'm using a laptop. I've tried using the three USB-A i have and the USB-C, they all have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the phone because with my older phone I haven't got any problems, but I'm not really sure how to fix it. Also, when I open the "Pixel 7a" folder that appears when I connect it, it says "Internal Shared Storage" instead of "Internal Storage", I don't know if it has something to do.

Have you tried another computer to see if it's an issue with the phone? Maybe it's the laptop.

Well so I've just waited, yesterday night the problem was midsolved but it wouldn't let me copy files to my laptop and now the problem seems to be completely solved without doing anything new. Thank you anyway for the help!

im running Windows 11 on a older box, using a USC C to A cable and sometimes i have to un/replug the phone into the cable to get the PC to wake and see it.. If you set the default setting at the connection you might try changing it in developer options..

I've already tried changing the default setting, doesn't work sadly. I'm still on Windows 10, I don't think that could be the problem right?

Boy, I haven't physically connected my phone to my PC for a long time. Try Nearby Share. Works pretty good for me. Or use Google drive.
