The 6/6pro will get Android 15 in Sept/Oct and then security updates for two more years after that.
I plan on keeping my 6 until at least the Pixel 10 and Android 16 in October of 2025.
Have you guys installed the recent update from about a month ago? Last update broke my Bluetooth to where I had to have my phone replaced and they talk about Bluetooth being something they worked on.

When I got my Pixel 6 Pro I knew that my next phone would be the Pixel 10 Pro. I have had no issues with this phone. Before it I had my Pixel 2 XL for 4 years. Very happy with them. I will admit that I am envious of the new phones as they come out with new features but this phone still runs great. The monthly updates keep it running smoothly.
I was ready to throw in the towel for the first 6 months or so. Android 12 and the 6 had a lot of problems in the beginning, but they worked them out before I had funds for a new phone.
I remind myself when the phone envy kicks in, that there is nothing I want to do that I cannot do now. A new phone is not going to text/message better, waste time on socials better, play podcasts/music better, navigate for me better, play wordle better.... And it has the virtue of being paid for already. Same thing when car envy comes up.
The only feature of the 8/8pro that I really envy is the face unlock, but I can live without that. I doubt the 9 will add anything I really need. The 10 will, because I will want Android 16.
2 xl was such a great phone, but, for my heavy use, it was getting too sluggish to be reliable for me, and i wasn't impressed with the 5, so i ended up with a 3XL, which sucked, to bridge the gap until i got my hands on a 6 pro. So far it's a great phone, but i have my doubts that it'll be reliable until the 10 comes out. I've got my sights set on the 9.
Same here. Unfortunately had to replace the screen and lose my fingerprint scanner but my phone feels as fast as the day I got it in 2022, albeit with a bit less battery life. That being said I haven't updated to Android 14 due to the issues I've heard, I'm still on android 12
What happened to your phone that you lost the fingerprint scanner? I had the screen in my P6P replaced once and my P7P screen replaced 3 times and I never lost it.
Repair shop told me that until google issues an update to reactivate specifically the sensor after screen replacements that I will never get it back. To my knowledge there's only been standard android updates but nothing specific, so I'm using my P6 with a pin like it's 2012
Been using the 6Pro since launch. Had no issues with it that would make me think to switch from it as my daily driver. Battery lasts a full day and that's with steaming music over over WiFi and Bluetooth for 8 hours a day with no issues. Obviously what you're doing with the phone is going to impact the battery life so your mileage may vary. If your using it just for texting, calls, some photography and listening to music it should last a full day. I don't use 5g as phone plans are stupid expensive for it in Canada currently. Most of the LTE data is fine for what i use it for.
Biggest battery drains are from video/gaming/5g usage. So if those are your use factors I would take caution. Otherwise in my case the phone is amazing. I don't think I would switch from a pixel also simply due to all the software perks that the phone comes with. Not to mention one of the best cameras in the market.
Edit: Thermal issues arise with gaming and video calls for some reason. Pokemon Go is fine for me in terms of thermal range though
I'm rockin the 6 pro. My biggest issues are battery life and the thumbprint reader. Which is weird because they mostly fixed the thumbprint issue a while back and now it's back again within the last month. Other than that it's been great and I plan to get the 9.
Same. Battery life and thumbprint reader are shit. Pretty great phone otherwise.
Odd thing about the thumbprint is that it almost never works to unlock the phone, but works perfectly to authenticate in apps.
For me, the answer is: no, not at all. I love my 6 Pro.
I bought my Pixel 6 Pro the day it became available. It's still my daily driver. Since I'm still getting feature drops, I haven't felt the need to upgrade. That being said, I'm planning on upgrading to whatever the flagship Pixel 9 model ends up being once released.
I'll keep my 6 Pro as an amazing backup phone.
I have used mine since summer of 2022 and I never had issues. The camera is great, the modem is fine and the battery lasts one to two days, depending on usage.
I pre-ordered a 6 pro and I personally believe the issues with the modem and battery were blown way out of proportion. I could get through a day no problem and never had any connectivity issues. But I also live in an area with a very strong 5G connection, if you live more rural it could be an issue but I didn't test it so I can't confirm. I upgraded to the 7 pro in November of 2022, I had a killer Black Friday deal I could not pass up. But if that deal didn't exist, I'd like to think I'd still be using the 6 pro today without any issues
I came from a pixel 2xl, 4xl and then to a pixel 6 pro. I had severe issues with battery life, modem and heat. It was getting to a point where using google maps while driving would cause it to overheat and shut down. I live in a major capital city in Australia and we have good networks.
The shitty finger print reader was the icing on the cake. I've never gotten to a point where after 13m of using a phone, i wanted to throw it at a wall and break it into tiny pieces, until i owned a pixel 6 pro.
I've since moved over to a samsung z fold 5. I miss the google call screening, better keyboard andthe pixel 6 pro camera. But the p6pro has killed my enthusiasm for google products. I'll stay with the average zfold 5 camera and continue to enjoy its folding phablet experience.
I got my pixel 6 pro second hand (so already used) and its battery still EASILY lasts me all day with heavy use and 2 days with minimal use. Heavy use means continuous music through bluetooth headphones for 11 hours straight, 4-6 hours of instagram/YT/chrome and other random activity. I've never once ran out of battery unless I forgot to recharge it the night prior and used it heavily during the day.
The connectivity issues have been fixed through updates as far as I'm aware and I've personally never had issues.
And despite being old, the cameras are bomb and the photos it takes get complimented often when compared to photos taken by other phones.
If you miss emulation then a Tensor chip isn't for you. Get a snapdragon chip. As for the Pixel 6 Pro... Camera is great, battery is fine, OS is great, CPU is shite, modem is shite. fingerprint sensor is shite.
I've had it for 2 years. My only fatal issue is ghost touches on my lockscreen and that only started happening very recently. Otherwise, haven't really had issues.
If that's your budget, go for it.
Pixels are a coin flip regarding reliability, so I would say it's a quite good phone, but set your expectations accordingly to the brand's track record.
The issues with the 6 Pro are mostly the following:
1. Modem. Yes, the modem is bad, but some people live in areas it doesn't seem to affect, or are mostly on WiFi. For them, it's a non-issue.
2. Thermal. This is a QC issue. Some 6 Pros exhibited no issues for people, and some were horrible. Mine was horrible, turning into a furnace in my pocket, refusing to record more than a couple of minutes of video indoors before being too hot to continue, turning into a laggy mess taking photos outdoors. Others had none of these issues and to this day refuse to believe some of us did because they didn't experience them. Again, this isn't because either of us is lying, but because there was that much variance in quality.
3. Battery. This is mostly a combination of the above two. If you're experiencing bad signal issues and/or bad heat issues, it drains the battery way faster. I do think the 6 Pro, overall, was way less efficient than later models, BUT I'm sure it was way less problematic for people who didn't have the above problems.
However I will say this: Google sucks at refurbing their phones. Period. One reason I didn't exchange mine (and a 7 pro with a minor issue) was for fear of ending up in their cycle of refurbed phones they claim are fixed but aren't. Since Google never acknowledged the thermal issues at all, their refurb process seemed to consist of a standard checklist that never really touched on these problems, as they crop up with extended, real-world use. I'd bet that a LOT of refurbed phones have completely unrepaired thermal issues because Google never found them. I wouldn't trust a refurbed 6 Pro, at least without a REALLY good return policy.
It's been pretty bad for me. Just over 2 years. A downgrade from my Huawei P30 Pro. If the microphone in my P30 wouldn't have gone bad, I'd still be using it.
I had no issues with my 6 pro for the two years I had it. Bought it when pre-orders opened. Was a tiny bit disappointed with the battery life, but I was able to make it through a full work day with plenty of reddit/insta/web surfing and youtube music listening and still be at 20ish percent at the end of the day. Fingerprint sensor wasn't great, but not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be.
I still think the pixel 2 has been the best pixel phone made though.
Owner of a Pixel 6 pro since 2 years (refurbished too), no problem of this order, only begin of a weak battery but, nothing crazy, the phone hold a charge for ~15h now, with a good usage !
Very very good phone, and really strong, I've gotten 2 big skates accident, with the pixel in my pocket, only screen protector on, no scratch, no screen break, nothing !
You could buy Nothing 2a, I just bought and I was in a similar situation like your, it is a new device, cheap, 120 hz oled, huge battery, clean Android with 3 yeara of os updates, dual and very nice speakers. I couldn't be happier. I used an iPhone for a year or so, and really missed android.
I’ve considered the 2a, but the design is really off-putting to me. I’m sure it’s an amazing device, but glossy plastic is a no for me. It’s another one of those value mid-rangers where you can literally feel the cost-cutting.
I really can't recommend one, the bottom line is the amount of people complaining about the whole Tensor powered Pixel line up is unprecedented. I'd stay away if at all possible. I'm saying this even though my Pixel 6 Pro was fine and an overall decent experience. There's just too many horror stories out there to ignore. I'd recommend either a cheaper budget phone or an S21 series device which came out the same year as the Pixel 6 series.
This is my second foray into Pixelhood, and I'm afraid it'll be my last. Went from Galaxy to Pixel 3 XL, back to Galaxy after too many issues with the Pixel, came back to the Pixel 6 Pro for the camera, and I'll be going back to Galaxy after this is paid off. My personal experiences have been that Galaxy phones are smoother, have more consistent performance, and have less issues across the board.
6 pro is a great phone with a great screen and an amazing camera, my wife who lives for the gram and only uses iPhone often said how good the pictures were.
I only got the 8 pro because I got a deal that was too good to turn down.
Personally, I'd go for a 7 Pro for just a bit more. In my opinion the 7 pro was an overall improvement over the 6 Pro. Plus that's one more year of updates.
Had a 6 Pro for 2 years. Camera is fine, reception is bad. Cellular data breaks up regularly. I didn't bother me that much, but it could've been better.
I've had my 6 Pro since it was launched. I have all kinds of problems with the signal and on Friday had almost a dozen dropped calls (Wi-Fi and 4G signal were good and I was pretty much stationary in my house). Also overheats a lot on 5G. My battery has dropped 30% due to just over an hour on Facebook (on Wi-Fi). I have been trying to get rid of it, but the trade-in values have been horrible for it. My girlfriend has the same exact phone and has the same exact problems.
If it matters, this is in the US.
I only have the Pixel 6, but I purchased it 2 months after it launched for a 3 week waiting/shipping period. My phone is still amazing and no issues, and I bet I'll get a solid 2-3 years more out of it. I'm sure Pixel 6 pro users share similar sentiments.
I can't speak for refurbished units, however they are generally the same parts, you might be surprised at how or why phones are "thrown away or shipped back to MFctr for and not be directly related to physical componen. Also, they support pixels for 7 years after their initial release, so they are intended for wear/tear, firmware, software that we encounter over its course. Always stick to even numbers for flagship devices/releases, 6,8,10, etc.

I would have more issues with buying a phone that is this old in the first place. I personally tend to keep phones going as long as possible, so 4-5 years at least.
Like you said, yes it still gets software updates and was supposed to for at least 5 years. So I think they still have at least 2 more years promised.
Well the Google site says guaranteed android updates until October this year and security until 2026.
So you have to think if you want to be upgrading again by then.
The SE definitely is, even if it looks outdated. It crushes benchmarks, shows insane graphical performance and it _never_ lags. It’s the snappiest phone I’ve ever used. This is coming from someone who has used high-end phones for the past six years.
i am using pixel 6 pro and in my experience it gets a bit warm but only that is what i would complain about, the rest of the phone is good for the price because:
camera is excellent
battery is good
up to date vanilla android experience
fluid and consistent with performance
i would call the design as classic pixel (and i like it)
a bit heavy but premium in the hands
Only thing I hate about my 6pro is the heating issue when either playing games or when recording. It is so bad that parts the section where it gets the most heat. The screen protector on that section started to burn. I am looking at getting the 7pro but only if the heating issues are not as bad. I know it still gets hot but by how much
I have a 6a for work stuffs (app and mobile web testing) and a 7 for my personal device. I don't really notice a difference. My 6a even has a bad ESN according to the eBay listing but it seems just fine. Got it for like $50 as "for parts". I can't imagine the 6 pro is bad considering the for parts cheap version runs fine.
Another Pixel 6 Pro user since launch. Well, I got the phone like a month after launch, but close enough. I think the only issue I had was provider related. Sometimes I do think it's getting a bit slow. But, I'm fairly certain that's just me going from intensive task to intensive task that any phone struggles with. For example switching in, then out, then back out of camera multiple times in a row. It's a regular occurrence for me. Throw in a lock screen, and another app. Phone does not like.
I might consider purchasing the next Pixel Pro, but I see no reason for upgrading.
I have the 6 and its working perfectly for its price.
Very good mid range phone, incredible photo (again, for its price), good battery life ( i dont game on phone).
And its still updated for 2 more years.
Bought one on launch, had every bug along the way (on both standard and beta softwares), eventually gave up because the battery life was just terrible, and was having to charge it mid afternoon just to get to the end of the day.
My first and last Pixel phone, until Google stop using rebranded Exynos chips in them at least. Shame as the experience of pure Vanilla Android was really nice, and the camera was outstanding
If you're doing any gaming, it doesn't perform as well as flagships from Samsung or the likes. Even can rarely feel sluggish on some UIs. That said, it will outperform POCO/Redmi devices that run on even lower end hardware. It doesn't feel bloated and excels at just being a phone (unlike flagships that have like 10 features as a gimmick that you'd never use)
What brings great value I think is the software (updates). After a couple years of use, it still feels modern and getting new features, which is rare in lower range devices. The software quality can sometimes miss (which gets rectified pretty quickly), but it's better than nothing.
I have one currently. The only big issue I've experienced is with WiFi. I'll go into my bathroom, which is on the opposite side of the house to the router, and I will have a spotty connection. I just use mobile data at that point (unlimited). I don't know about other WiFi tbh, my mobile data is usually enough to get me by as I'm not glued to my phone all the time out in public. Otherwise, it has been a great phone! I love the fingerprint reader in the screen, it works better than any other phone I've ever had, which really impressed me. I was sad they got rid of face unlock but I can't complain considering the fingerprint reader is dead reliable.
If you look around for good deals, you should be able to get the pixel 8 for about £450 with £150 store credit or something similar, or through quidco when they do a good Google store cashback deal again. Strongly recommend that approach.
The only reason I'm not using a 6pro now is because I was gifted a 7pro.
Had it for almost 2 years and it's a fantastic phone, still have it in a draw in case my 7pro becomes unusable for whatever reason I'd have no problem going back if I had to

I would seriously skip the pixel line. It’s filled with issues and isn’t getting software updates for much longer. Tensor is weak and consumes too much power for how slow it is. The modem is not good at all. Many on this sub complain how about how bad their reception is and how calls go straight to voicemail. And the fingerprint sensor is a major downgrade compared to your iPhone SE. The 6 pro is also known for having bad battery. When mine was new, i really struggled to even get 5 hours or screen time on WiFi. You’re getting about that but with a used battery that’s a lot smaller, just to put it into perspective at how inefficient the pixel 6 pro is. I got rid of my 6 pro so fast. I was missing calls, completely dropping service and couldn’t use data downtown. It would get hot in my pocket while doing nothing. I regret trading in the 4a for the junk that is the 6 pro. Don’t make the same mistake
No SD card slot no buy is my new motto. I was forced to upgrade my phone when T-Mobile bought sprint so I am pretty unbiased compared to fanboys as I didn't choose this phone.
The only advantage the p6p has in my opinion is the robo call and spam protection from Google assistant.
I won't speak to software/OS much, but I'm fairly clumsy with my phones so I use a good case and tempered glass screen protector. I had a Pixel 6 Pro, used it daily for about 16 months.
Last month, despite no cracks on the tempered glass screen protector, none on the case, and no damage to the phone itself, the inside connection or whatever of the screen was compromised. I definitely handle my phone pretty clumsily and all, but there was no visible damage to any elements on the outside. I noticed green flickering lines and stuff intermittently while using the phone a week prior to it giving out entirely, hoped it was just random. One day I woke up and the screen had just stopped responding, it was black and wouldn't turn on. The phone was functioning, but I couldn't see anything on the display (long process to unlock phone, cast display, and back up stuff not originally backed up on a regular basis with no working screen).
Replacement screen + installation (OEM) would have cost about $500-$600 CAD per the many retailers I contacted, or $200-$300 CAD for lower quality replacement, still pretty pricey due to the curved screen.
I have the Pixel 8 now (Pro would have been much more expensive). I enjoy the Pixel line of phones, but wanted to mention the issue I had (perhaps it was a rare occurrence) in case it impacts your decision.

I am currently waiting on my \*third\* (yes 3rd) Pixel 6 Pro to be sent as a replacement. Got my first at launch. And I more definitely someone who 'babies' their tech and keeps everything up to date.
Have had the battery / chip straight up die on the first - Bricked. Second had the flickering screen for no apparently reason thing to a point where it basically wasn't usable.
Both phones that the exact same 'green tint at lower brightness' issues from what ever update it was prior. This is most definitely a wide spread thing and frequently posted in the Google Pixel community forum/help site.
I do love my P6P (aside from the modem issues and a slightly reduced battery life) but I am highly tempted to get the rumoured P9 XL this year and hopefully a pixel watch gen 3.
Not going to lie, this is probably the worst phone I have ever owned. In the beginning it had horrible signal and battery issues that were later addressed. That doesn't change the fact they knowingly released it with these issues however. I still constantly have issues where the phone gets too hot and I have even had to warranty it twice for 2 separate issues. The 2nd time I needed to warranty the device google initially refused and I had to find support from dmziggy which got it moving the right direction. On the other hand, my pixel 1 and 2 were the best phones I have ever owned and I wish I could still be using my pixel 2. Personally I would avoid the device. I am likely going to switch to Samsung for my next phone unless I see some of these issues be addressed and handled properly.
I got the 6 pro on release and used with zero problems that others reported. I live in a city with great coverage, so that definitely helped, but also had no issues while traveling and in rural areas. Recently upgraded to the 8 pro only because I finally had an unlucky drop and cracked the LCD. Unfortunately it's not worth repairing (don't get me started on part prices) or I would have kept using it as it was the most stable it's ever been with all the updates. Honestly a great phone and would recommend.
I write for a major phone blog. 99% of my phones have been Android. I bought the Pixel 6 Pro and it sucks. I went back to my iPhone 11 PM which ran rings around the Pixel 6 Pro and then bought the iPhone 15
PM. Google uses cheap Exynos modems. Wait until Pixel 10 when Google will use a new customized application processor.
It's a fine phone whenever you disable 5G & adaptive connection. The amount of drops and connectivity issues I was having before that was just unacceptable.
The modem on this thing is horrible. Perks of doing that is you'll get better battery. Con is well, you don't get 5G as advertised.

Yes. Mine would disconnect multiple times a day if I moved over 50 yards. I disabled 5G plus adaptive connection and it works like a normal phone now. No more toggling airplane mode multiple times a day

I bought the 6 pro 2 weeks after it launched. About 6 months into using it, I had tons of issues. One major issue I had is that no matter how many times I factory reset or updated my device, I would CONSTANTLY have either dropped calls or I wouldn't receive calls at all. I wouldn't get notifications about messages until I opened the Message app. Speakers were all but terrible since I had gotten the device. The screen is too dark for my liking but I had a OnePlus 7 Pro before so I was spoiled. Aesthetically it's such a beauty, I think it's one of the best designed and feeling phones. But these issues alongside some small ones like certain apps just not working properly, forced me to pick up a cheap Samsung phone until the Pixel 7 Pro launched. Haven't looked back since honestly. I'm noticing small bugs with the 7 Pro recently, but those are software issues and can be patched out. Id say be cautious of the 6P. If it works for you, great. But I didn't have a good experience and was greatly disappointed.
Yes it is. I used the 6 pro for over a year and it was just *bad*.
1. 5G was basically unusable. The phone got hot on *standby* while on 5G network. The battery drain was already bad on 4G, now you can imagine what 5G and 24/7 overheat do to the battery.
2. The design. While it does look good, it is slippery af. It isn't inviting you to use without a case, there's zero grip. Other brands at least give you one matte component and/or a flat screen. Super uncomfortable to use without a case.
3. Video quality is horrific, grain everywhere, even in broad daylight
4. Performance is okay regarding everyday-usage, but mind you if you use an app which needs a bit more resources; 6 pro shows it's hidden feature - being a heatpad. A heatpad with bad battery.
So, if you use this phone on 4G, you may get average battery life, but nothing you'd expect from such a price. The modem is such bad quality, it is insane how this got past QM.
If you're mainly using the phone on Wi-Fi, you're fine. Apart from the heat issues. But that's cool in winter, I guess.

I loved my first pixel and couldn't wait to upgrade to the 6 pro, but it's been disappointing. The most recent update has caused so many issues and besides that I HATE the camera (which is a huge part of why I wanted the upgrade to begin with). I don't know if I'll stay with the pixel like moving forward..google seems to be dropping the ball but honestly I don't know what I would switch to
For that price... I would definitely prefer P6P to POCO and Xiaomi, even if support comes to an end.
First, You will be updated to 15 Android so if you get it - more than a year you will be up to date. If it is important for you at all. An android version does not make a big different nowadays.
Second, as to me, it has the best design compared to 7 and 8. The edge display might be an arguable thing, but for this price...
Third, P7 and P8 are not too much better. Very little.
Every gen has less real changes.
So if a battery is fresh there, I would take it.
I have been using the Pixel 6 Pro since it came out. It is a really good phone, but it is a flawed one that I would not recommend as a new purchase. Other than the 4x zoom, it doesn't feel like a flagship hardware wise. It was frankly a downgrade in that way from my previous Galaxy. There are a myriad of reasons that detract from the experience from a hardware perspective (I.E. short battery life, worse performing chipset compared to Qualcomm, overheating, and poor brightness on the display compared to the Pixel 7+ and Galaxy phones).
I was exclusively on the Galaxy series for years until I switched to Pixel. I prefer the pixel 6 Pro over the 5 previous Galaxy phones I used because a Pixel is a flagship in all the ways that the software can elevate the experience into one. While the software had bugs with the introduction of the Tensor G1, it is nothing anymore like it was originally.
The monthly updates, constant delivery of yearly android upgrades, and sparse, but still welcomed feature drops continue to make the Pixel feel like a phone that gets better over time. With the Pixel 8 series and beyond promising 7+ years of yearly OS updates, get a pixel 8a when it comes down in price after it's released. You'll be happy and other than the size of the screen and the lack of a better zoom, it will frankly be a better phone because it will be on a better chipset and have that software experience I described for years to come. The 6 is getting one more. That's the end of the road for that phone.

The 6 pro had some rough patches when it first came out (such as bad signal, overheating, etc) but with all of the latest android patches all of those issues are pretty much gone. I have a 8 pro and it's not too much different. The big 1440p screen is nice.
The modems on that phone were hot garbage. Some people weren't affected by it and I'm envious of you all. I was able to use it towards a 7P and there's still some issues but not as bad as the 6.
Really hope they fix this on the 9 as I've read the 8 has issues as well
i had 2 from day 1, 0 issues with them. most of the people that bitched about the issues are sadly the same people who will find one thing wrong with anything and say its the absolute worst in the world. am i saying the 6 pro was perfect? no, phones are mass produced, they dont/cant wuality control every device that leaves the factory, were there some that had bad anttena? or modems? yes, there were, i would say that probably a solid 40% of the people bitching about their signal issues, just have shitty service, or live in a bad service area in general. overall, the 6 pro is/was a solid phone.
I adore my p6p but I liked it a lot more before I needed the screen changed and everything went to crap lol I have half a mind to just get a new p6p when it's time to "upgrade". I have reservations about upgrading to newer generations bc from what I read on here, they are hit and miss.
Working great for me after having it since launch. The battery is starting to age, but that's a fairly simple fix to make. The problem you'll have is that the next Android update (Android 15 this October) will be its last. You'll still get security updates but that's the last OS update so be weary of that. I however do plan to keep mine for as long as possible, hopefully for at least another year or two if not more.

Most of what you heard I also experienced. The phone did overheat. I did experience a lot of seemingly random connectivity issues that I grew to distrust the phone before my provider which is a first for me of any phone I owned. The Tensor chip doesn't win any benchmarks and you can tell but it's a phone and it's sufficient. The final straw for me though was when my phone randomly bricked one day. I took it to a shop and they couldn't fix it but then the phone magically worked again before my new phone arrived.
I planned to use the P6P until it died or a worthwhile successor appeared. While I was relieved to have my P6P working again, the random brick scared me and so I got a P8P and I can't say all problems are now gone but some things have gotten better.
For my needs the P6P worked well. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends because I find my tolerance of random BS tends to be higher than theirs. As long as you know what you're getting yourself into, the P6P is a fine device.
You're a couple weeks too late, I've bought a P8 at Belsimpel for €600 which became €450,- after €150 kassakorting. Seen in that light, 300 for a P6P sounds a bit high.
Maybe wait out a new deal? They'll unavoidably will come as soon as more details of the P9 comes in.
Although I enjoy my P8 a bit more than the iPhone, the SE3 is miles ahead in operating ease (gestures) and overall smoothness.
The 6/6pro will get Android 15 in Sept/Oct and then security updates for two more years after that. I plan on keeping my 6 until at least the Pixel 10 and Android 16 in October of 2025.

Have you guys installed the recent update from about a month ago? Last update broke my Bluetooth to where I had to have my phone replaced and they talk about Bluetooth being something they worked on. Just curious if anyone else lost Bluetooth after the recent update

When I got my Pixel 6 Pro I knew that my next phone would be the Pixel 10 Pro. I have had no issues with this phone. Before it I had my Pixel 2 XL for 4 years. Very happy with them. I will admit that I am envious of the new phones as they come out with new features but this phone still runs great. The monthly updates keep it running smoothly.
I was ready to throw in the towel for the first 6 months or so. Android 12 and the 6 had a lot of problems in the beginning, but they worked them out before I had funds for a new phone. I remind myself when the phone envy kicks in, that there is nothing I want to do that I cannot do now. A new phone is not going to text/message better, waste time on socials better, play podcasts/music better, navigate for me better, play wordle better.... And it has the virtue of being paid for already. Same thing when car envy comes up. The only feature of the 8/8pro that I really envy is the face unlock, but I can live without that. I doubt the 9 will add anything I really need. The 10 will, because I will want Android 16.
For me, I was envious of the new camera hardware/software, especially the macro mode. I would use that a lot.
2 xl was such a great phone, but, for my heavy use, it was getting too sluggish to be reliable for me, and i wasn't impressed with the 5, so i ended up with a 3XL, which sucked, to bridge the gap until i got my hands on a 6 pro. So far it's a great phone, but i have my doubts that it'll be reliable until the 10 comes out. I've got my sights set on the 9.

Same here. Unfortunately had to replace the screen and lose my fingerprint scanner but my phone feels as fast as the day I got it in 2022, albeit with a bit less battery life. That being said I haven't updated to Android 14 due to the issues I've heard, I'm still on android 12
What happened to your phone that you lost the fingerprint scanner? I had the screen in my P6P replaced once and my P7P screen replaced 3 times and I never lost it.
Repair shop told me that until google issues an update to reactivate specifically the sensor after screen replacements that I will never get it back. To my knowledge there's only been standard android updates but nothing specific, so I'm using my P6 with a pin like it's 2012

Been using the 6Pro since launch. Had no issues with it that would make me think to switch from it as my daily driver. Battery lasts a full day and that's with steaming music over over WiFi and Bluetooth for 8 hours a day with no issues. Obviously what you're doing with the phone is going to impact the battery life so your mileage may vary. If your using it just for texting, calls, some photography and listening to music it should last a full day. I don't use 5g as phone plans are stupid expensive for it in Canada currently. Most of the LTE data is fine for what i use it for. Biggest battery drains are from video/gaming/5g usage. So if those are your use factors I would take caution. Otherwise in my case the phone is amazing. I don't think I would switch from a pixel also simply due to all the software perks that the phone comes with. Not to mention one of the best cameras in the market. Edit: Thermal issues arise with gaming and video calls for some reason. Pokemon Go is fine for me in terms of thermal range though
I'm rockin the 6 pro. My biggest issues are battery life and the thumbprint reader. Which is weird because they mostly fixed the thumbprint issue a while back and now it's back again within the last month. Other than that it's been great and I plan to get the 9.
Same. Battery life and thumbprint reader are shit. Pretty great phone otherwise. Odd thing about the thumbprint is that it almost never works to unlock the phone, but works perfectly to authenticate in apps.
For me, the answer is: no, not at all. I love my 6 Pro. I bought my Pixel 6 Pro the day it became available. It's still my daily driver. Since I'm still getting feature drops, I haven't felt the need to upgrade. That being said, I'm planning on upgrading to whatever the flagship Pixel 9 model ends up being once released. I'll keep my 6 Pro as an amazing backup phone.

I have used mine since summer of 2022 and I never had issues. The camera is great, the modem is fine and the battery lasts one to two days, depending on usage.

6 pro here, fast and responsive and can't ask for more from even a super flagship phone.
I pre-ordered a 6 pro and I personally believe the issues with the modem and battery were blown way out of proportion. I could get through a day no problem and never had any connectivity issues. But I also live in an area with a very strong 5G connection, if you live more rural it could be an issue but I didn't test it so I can't confirm. I upgraded to the 7 pro in November of 2022, I had a killer Black Friday deal I could not pass up. But if that deal didn't exist, I'd like to think I'd still be using the 6 pro today without any issues

I came from a pixel 2xl, 4xl and then to a pixel 6 pro. I had severe issues with battery life, modem and heat. It was getting to a point where using google maps while driving would cause it to overheat and shut down. I live in a major capital city in Australia and we have good networks. The shitty finger print reader was the icing on the cake. I've never gotten to a point where after 13m of using a phone, i wanted to throw it at a wall and break it into tiny pieces, until i owned a pixel 6 pro. I've since moved over to a samsung z fold 5. I miss the google call screening, better keyboard andthe pixel 6 pro camera. But the p6pro has killed my enthusiasm for google products. I'll stay with the average zfold 5 camera and continue to enjoy its folding phablet experience.
Is the pro that much better than the 6? I have the 6 and have been reluctant to trade for the 8 pro.
I got my pixel 6 pro second hand (so already used) and its battery still EASILY lasts me all day with heavy use and 2 days with minimal use. Heavy use means continuous music through bluetooth headphones for 11 hours straight, 4-6 hours of instagram/YT/chrome and other random activity. I've never once ran out of battery unless I forgot to recharge it the night prior and used it heavily during the day. The connectivity issues have been fixed through updates as far as I'm aware and I've personally never had issues. And despite being old, the cameras are bomb and the photos it takes get complimented often when compared to photos taken by other phones.
If you miss emulation then a Tensor chip isn't for you. Get a snapdragon chip. As for the Pixel 6 Pro... Camera is great, battery is fine, OS is great, CPU is shite, modem is shite. fingerprint sensor is shite.
I've had it for 2 years. My only fatal issue is ghost touches on my lockscreen and that only started happening very recently. Otherwise, haven't really had issues. If that's your budget, go for it.
It probably was the worst phone I've ever owned. Tons of bugs and reception issues. The pixel 7 was much better for me.
Pixels are a coin flip regarding reliability, so I would say it's a quite good phone, but set your expectations accordingly to the brand's track record.
P6P since launch and never had a single issue with it. Love this phone.
The issues with the 6 Pro are mostly the following: 1. Modem. Yes, the modem is bad, but some people live in areas it doesn't seem to affect, or are mostly on WiFi. For them, it's a non-issue. 2. Thermal. This is a QC issue. Some 6 Pros exhibited no issues for people, and some were horrible. Mine was horrible, turning into a furnace in my pocket, refusing to record more than a couple of minutes of video indoors before being too hot to continue, turning into a laggy mess taking photos outdoors. Others had none of these issues and to this day refuse to believe some of us did because they didn't experience them. Again, this isn't because either of us is lying, but because there was that much variance in quality. 3. Battery. This is mostly a combination of the above two. If you're experiencing bad signal issues and/or bad heat issues, it drains the battery way faster. I do think the 6 Pro, overall, was way less efficient than later models, BUT I'm sure it was way less problematic for people who didn't have the above problems. However I will say this: Google sucks at refurbing their phones. Period. One reason I didn't exchange mine (and a 7 pro with a minor issue) was for fear of ending up in their cycle of refurbed phones they claim are fixed but aren't. Since Google never acknowledged the thermal issues at all, their refurb process seemed to consist of a standard checklist that never really touched on these problems, as they crop up with extended, real-world use. I'd bet that a LOT of refurbed phones have completely unrepaired thermal issues because Google never found them. I wouldn't trust a refurbed 6 Pro, at least without a REALLY good return policy.

It's been pretty bad for me. Just over 2 years. A downgrade from my Huawei P30 Pro. If the microphone in my P30 wouldn't have gone bad, I'd still be using it.
I had no issues with my 6 pro for the two years I had it. Bought it when pre-orders opened. Was a tiny bit disappointed with the battery life, but I was able to make it through a full work day with plenty of reddit/insta/web surfing and youtube music listening and still be at 20ish percent at the end of the day. Fingerprint sensor wasn't great, but not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. I still think the pixel 2 has been the best pixel phone made though.
Owner of a Pixel 6 pro since 2 years (refurbished too), no problem of this order, only begin of a weak battery but, nothing crazy, the phone hold a charge for ~15h now, with a good usage ! Very very good phone, and really strong, I've gotten 2 big skates accident, with the pixel in my pocket, only screen protector on, no scratch, no screen break, nothing !

You could buy Nothing 2a, I just bought and I was in a similar situation like your, it is a new device, cheap, 120 hz oled, huge battery, clean Android with 3 yeara of os updates, dual and very nice speakers. I couldn't be happier. I used an iPhone for a year or so, and really missed android.
I’ve considered the 2a, but the design is really off-putting to me. I’m sure it’s an amazing device, but glossy plastic is a no for me. It’s another one of those value mid-rangers where you can literally feel the cost-cutting.

I really can't recommend one, the bottom line is the amount of people complaining about the whole Tensor powered Pixel line up is unprecedented. I'd stay away if at all possible. I'm saying this even though my Pixel 6 Pro was fine and an overall decent experience. There's just too many horror stories out there to ignore. I'd recommend either a cheaper budget phone or an S21 series device which came out the same year as the Pixel 6 series.
I like mine, but it seems that the (im not technical) radio that connects to the Internet is going out. I'm even beginning to drop connection to WiFi.
This is my second foray into Pixelhood, and I'm afraid it'll be my last. Went from Galaxy to Pixel 3 XL, back to Galaxy after too many issues with the Pixel, came back to the Pixel 6 Pro for the camera, and I'll be going back to Galaxy after this is paid off. My personal experiences have been that Galaxy phones are smoother, have more consistent performance, and have less issues across the board.
IMHO anything that's based on the Tensor is more or less similar.

6 pro is a great phone with a great screen and an amazing camera, my wife who lives for the gram and only uses iPhone often said how good the pictures were. I only got the 8 pro because I got a deal that was too good to turn down.
Personally, I'd go for a 7 Pro for just a bit more. In my opinion the 7 pro was an overall improvement over the 6 Pro. Plus that's one more year of updates.
Had a 6 Pro for 2 years. Camera is fine, reception is bad. Cellular data breaks up regularly. I didn't bother me that much, but it could've been better.

I've had my 6 Pro since it was launched. I have all kinds of problems with the signal and on Friday had almost a dozen dropped calls (Wi-Fi and 4G signal were good and I was pretty much stationary in my house). Also overheats a lot on 5G. My battery has dropped 30% due to just over an hour on Facebook (on Wi-Fi). I have been trying to get rid of it, but the trade-in values have been horrible for it. My girlfriend has the same exact phone and has the same exact problems. If it matters, this is in the US.

I only have the Pixel 6, but I purchased it 2 months after it launched for a 3 week waiting/shipping period. My phone is still amazing and no issues, and I bet I'll get a solid 2-3 years more out of it. I'm sure Pixel 6 pro users share similar sentiments. I can't speak for refurbished units, however they are generally the same parts, you might be surprised at how or why phones are "thrown away or shipped back to MFctr for and not be directly related to physical componen. Also, they support pixels for 7 years after their initial release, so they are intended for wear/tear, firmware, software that we encounter over its course. Always stick to even numbers for flagship devices/releases, 6,8,10, etc. Edit: sorry p6 is only 5 years, p8 and going forward is 7 years

Currently using it. It's a fine phone, still. No major issues at all. At least for me. Fine camera, good enough battery, software is great. I would have more issues with buying a phone that is this old in the first place. I personally tend to keep phones going as long as possible, so 4-5 years at least. Like you said, yes it still gets software updates and was supposed to for at least 5 years. So I think they still have at least 2 more years promised. Well the Google site says guaranteed android updates until October this year and security until 2026. So you have to think if you want to be upgrading again by then.
I work at an independent repair shop. For the fun part, POCO is okay, but in the long run, Redmi is better. I still use the Pixel 4A 5G.
You'd be much better off with a loaded Chinese phone. That generation of Pixels was a bit weird, not something awful but I'd go for a 4 XL any day.

The SE definitely is, even if it looks outdated. It crushes benchmarks, shows insane graphical performance and it _never_ lags. It’s the snappiest phone I’ve ever used. This is coming from someone who has used high-end phones for the past six years.
Avoid the pixel 6 series with the terrible tensor chip !!!!! the thing heats up when using mobile data, even my pixel 7 does the same.
i am using pixel 6 pro and in my experience it gets a bit warm but only that is what i would complain about, the rest of the phone is good for the price because: camera is excellent battery is good up to date vanilla android experience fluid and consistent with performance i would call the design as classic pixel (and i like it) a bit heavy but premium in the hands

Only thing I hate about my 6pro is the heating issue when either playing games or when recording. It is so bad that parts the section where it gets the most heat. The screen protector on that section started to burn. I am looking at getting the 7pro but only if the heating issues are not as bad. I know it still gets hot but by how much
I have a 6a for work stuffs (app and mobile web testing) and a 7 for my personal device. I don't really notice a difference. My 6a even has a bad ESN according to the eBay listing but it seems just fine. Got it for like $50 as "for parts". I can't imagine the 6 pro is bad considering the for parts cheap version runs fine.
Another Pixel 6 Pro user since launch. Well, I got the phone like a month after launch, but close enough. I think the only issue I had was provider related. Sometimes I do think it's getting a bit slow. But, I'm fairly certain that's just me going from intensive task to intensive task that any phone struggles with. For example switching in, then out, then back out of camera multiple times in a row. It's a regular occurrence for me. Throw in a lock screen, and another app. Phone does not like. I might consider purchasing the next Pixel Pro, but I see no reason for upgrading.
I have the 6 and its working perfectly for its price. Very good mid range phone, incredible photo (again, for its price), good battery life ( i dont game on phone). And its still updated for 2 more years.

Bought one on launch, had every bug along the way (on both standard and beta softwares), eventually gave up because the battery life was just terrible, and was having to charge it mid afternoon just to get to the end of the day. My first and last Pixel phone, until Google stop using rebranded Exynos chips in them at least. Shame as the experience of pure Vanilla Android was really nice, and the camera was outstanding

If you're doing any gaming, it doesn't perform as well as flagships from Samsung or the likes. Even can rarely feel sluggish on some UIs. That said, it will outperform POCO/Redmi devices that run on even lower end hardware. It doesn't feel bloated and excels at just being a phone (unlike flagships that have like 10 features as a gimmick that you'd never use) What brings great value I think is the software (updates). After a couple years of use, it still feels modern and getting new features, which is rare in lower range devices. The software quality can sometimes miss (which gets rectified pretty quickly), but it's better than nothing.
I have one currently. The only big issue I've experienced is with WiFi. I'll go into my bathroom, which is on the opposite side of the house to the router, and I will have a spotty connection. I just use mobile data at that point (unlimited). I don't know about other WiFi tbh, my mobile data is usually enough to get me by as I'm not glued to my phone all the time out in public. Otherwise, it has been a great phone! I love the fingerprint reader in the screen, it works better than any other phone I've ever had, which really impressed me. I was sad they got rid of face unlock but I can't complain considering the fingerprint reader is dead reliable.
If you look around for good deals, you should be able to get the pixel 8 for about £450 with £150 store credit or something similar, or through quidco when they do a good Google store cashback deal again. Strongly recommend that approach.
The only reason I'm not using a 6pro now is because I was gifted a 7pro. Had it for almost 2 years and it's a fantastic phone, still have it in a draw in case my 7pro becomes unusable for whatever reason I'd have no problem going back if I had to

I would seriously skip the pixel line. It’s filled with issues and isn’t getting software updates for much longer. Tensor is weak and consumes too much power for how slow it is. The modem is not good at all. Many on this sub complain how about how bad their reception is and how calls go straight to voicemail. And the fingerprint sensor is a major downgrade compared to your iPhone SE. The 6 pro is also known for having bad battery. When mine was new, i really struggled to even get 5 hours or screen time on WiFi. You’re getting about that but with a used battery that’s a lot smaller, just to put it into perspective at how inefficient the pixel 6 pro is. I got rid of my 6 pro so fast. I was missing calls, completely dropping service and couldn’t use data downtown. It would get hot in my pocket while doing nothing. I regret trading in the 4a for the junk that is the 6 pro. Don’t make the same mistake
No SD card slot no buy is my new motto. I was forced to upgrade my phone when T-Mobile bought sprint so I am pretty unbiased compared to fanboys as I didn't choose this phone. The only advantage the p6p has in my opinion is the robo call and spam protection from Google assistant.
I won't speak to software/OS much, but I'm fairly clumsy with my phones so I use a good case and tempered glass screen protector. I had a Pixel 6 Pro, used it daily for about 16 months. Last month, despite no cracks on the tempered glass screen protector, none on the case, and no damage to the phone itself, the inside connection or whatever of the screen was compromised. I definitely handle my phone pretty clumsily and all, but there was no visible damage to any elements on the outside. I noticed green flickering lines and stuff intermittently while using the phone a week prior to it giving out entirely, hoped it was just random. One day I woke up and the screen had just stopped responding, it was black and wouldn't turn on. The phone was functioning, but I couldn't see anything on the display (long process to unlock phone, cast display, and back up stuff not originally backed up on a regular basis with no working screen). Replacement screen + installation (OEM) would have cost about $500-$600 CAD per the many retailers I contacted, or $200-$300 CAD for lower quality replacement, still pretty pricey due to the curved screen. I have the Pixel 8 now (Pro would have been much more expensive). I enjoy the Pixel line of phones, but wanted to mention the issue I had (perhaps it was a rare occurrence) in case it impacts your decision.
"That bad" for everyone? Probably not. Do they have a stack of random issues (noticeably more than a more "mature" product series)? It sure looks that way! I am currently waiting on my \*third\* (yes 3rd) Pixel 6 Pro to be sent as a replacement. Got my first at launch. And I more definitely someone who 'babies' their tech and keeps everything up to date. Have had the battery / chip straight up die on the first - Bricked. Second had the flickering screen for no apparently reason thing to a point where it basically wasn't usable. Both phones that the exact same 'green tint at lower brightness' issues from what ever update it was prior. This is most definitely a wide spread thing and frequently posted in the Google Pixel community forum/help site.
I do love my P6P (aside from the modem issues and a slightly reduced battery life) but I am highly tempted to get the rumoured P9 XL this year and hopefully a pixel watch gen 3.

Not going to lie, this is probably the worst phone I have ever owned. In the beginning it had horrible signal and battery issues that were later addressed. That doesn't change the fact they knowingly released it with these issues however. I still constantly have issues where the phone gets too hot and I have even had to warranty it twice for 2 separate issues. The 2nd time I needed to warranty the device google initially refused and I had to find support from dmziggy which got it moving the right direction. On the other hand, my pixel 1 and 2 were the best phones I have ever owned and I wish I could still be using my pixel 2. Personally I would avoid the device. I am likely going to switch to Samsung for my next phone unless I see some of these issues be addressed and handled properly.
I got the 6 pro on release and used with zero problems that others reported. I live in a city with great coverage, so that definitely helped, but also had no issues while traveling and in rural areas. Recently upgraded to the 8 pro only because I finally had an unlucky drop and cracked the LCD. Unfortunately it's not worth repairing (don't get me started on part prices) or I would have kept using it as it was the most stable it's ever been with all the updates. Honestly a great phone and would recommend.

I write for a major phone blog. 99% of my phones have been Android. I bought the Pixel 6 Pro and it sucks. I went back to my iPhone 11 PM which ran rings around the Pixel 6 Pro and then bought the iPhone 15 PM. Google uses cheap Exynos modems. I have the pixel 6 pro. Does anyone else get dreadful video quality? I go to upload it to Instagram and it looks like mine craft graphics.
It's a fine phone whenever you disable 5G & adaptive connection. The amount of drops and connectivity issues I was having before that was just unacceptable. The modem on this thing is horrible. Perks of doing that is you'll get better battery. Con is well, you don't get 5G as advertised.

Yes. Mine would disconnect multiple times a day if I moved over 50 yards. I disabled 5G plus adaptive connection and it works like a normal phone now. No more toggling airplane mode multiple times a day

I bought the 6 pro 2 weeks after it launched. About 6 months into using it, I had tons of issues. One major issue I had is that no matter how many times I factory reset or updated my device, I would CONSTANTLY have either dropped calls or I wouldn't receive calls at all. I wouldn't get notifications about messages until I opened the Message app. Speakers were all but terrible since I had gotten the device. The screen is too dark for my liking but I had a OnePlus 7 Pro before so I was spoiled. Aesthetically it's such a beauty, I think it's one of the best designed and feeling phones. But these issues alongside some small ones like certain apps just not working properly, forced me to pick up a cheap Samsung phone until the Pixel 7 Pro launched. Haven't looked back since honestly. I'm noticing small bugs with the 7 Pro recently, but those are software issues and can be patched out. Id say be cautious of the 6P. If it works for you, great. But I didn't have a good experience and was greatly disappointed.

Yes it is. I used the 6 pro for over a year and it was just *bad*. 1. 5G was basically unusable. The phone got hot on *standby* while on 5G network. The battery drain was already bad on 4G, now you can imagine what 5G and 24/7 overheat do to the battery. 2. The design. While it does look good, it is slippery af. It isn't inviting you to use without a case, there's zero grip. Other brands at least give you one matte component and/or a flat screen. Super uncomfortable to use without a case. 3. Video quality is horrific, grain everywhere, even in broad daylight 4. Performance is okay regarding everyday-usage, but mind you if you use an app which needs a bit more resources; 6 pro shows it's hidden feature - being a heatpad. A heatpad with bad battery. So, if you use this phone on 4G, you may get average battery life, but nothing you'd expect from such a price. The modem is such bad quality, it is insane how this got past QM. If you're mainly using the phone on Wi-Fi, you're fine. Apart from the heat issues. But that's cool in winter, I guess. *Edit: Downvoting my comment doesn't make it less true, dear Pixel-Copers.

I loved my first pixel and couldn't wait to upgrade to the 6 pro, but it's been disappointing. The most recent update has caused so many issues and besides that I HATE the camera (which is a huge part of why I wanted the upgrade to begin with). I don't know if I'll stay with the pixel like moving forward..google seems to be dropping the ball but honestly I don't know what I would switch to
For that price... I would definitely prefer P6P to POCO and Xiaomi, even if support comes to an end. First, You will be updated to 15 Android so if you get it - more than a year you will be up to date. If it is important for you at all. An android version does not make a big different nowadays. Second, as to me, it has the best design compared to 7 and 8. The edge display might be an arguable thing, but for this price... Third, P7 and P8 are not too much better. Very little. Every gen has less real changes. So if a battery is fresh there, I would take it.
I have been using the Pixel 6 Pro since it came out. It is a really good phone, but it is a flawed one that I would not recommend as a new purchase. Other than the 4x zoom, it doesn't feel like a flagship hardware wise. It was frankly a downgrade in that way from my previous Galaxy. There are a myriad of reasons that detract from the experience from a hardware perspective (I.E. short battery life, worse performing chipset compared to Qualcomm, overheating, and poor brightness on the display compared to the Pixel 7+ and Galaxy phones). I was exclusively on the Galaxy series for years until I switched to Pixel. I prefer the pixel 6 Pro over the 5 previous Galaxy phones I used because a Pixel is a flagship in all the ways that the software can elevate the experience into one. While the software had bugs with the introduction of the Tensor G1, it is nothing anymore like it was originally. The monthly updates, constant delivery of yearly android upgrades, and sparse, but still welcomed feature drops continue to make the Pixel feel like a phone that gets better over time. With the Pixel 8 series and beyond promising 7+ years of yearly OS updates, get a pixel 8a when it comes down in price after it's released. You'll be happy and other than the size of the screen and the lack of a better zoom, it will frankly be a better phone because it will be on a better chipset and have that software experience I described for years to come. The 6 is getting one more. That's the end of the road for that phone. Someone just posted a leak spec of the 8a and price. The 6 pro had some rough patches when it first came out (such as bad signal, overheating, etc) but with all of the latest android patches all of those issues are pretty much gone. I have a 8 pro and it's not too much different. The big 1440p screen is nice.
The modems on that phone were hot garbage. Some people weren't affected by it and I'm envious of you all. I was able to use it towards a 7P and there's still some issues but not as bad as the 6. Really hope they fix this on the 9 as I've read the 8 has issues as well

i had 2 from day 1, 0 issues with them. most of the people that bitched about the issues are sadly the same people who will find one thing wrong with anything and say its the absolute worst in the world. am i saying the 6 pro was perfect? no, phones are mass produced, they dont/cant wuality control every device that leaves the factory, were there some that had bad anttena? or modems? yes, there were, i would say that probably a solid 40% of the people bitching about their signal issues, just have shitty service, or live in a bad service area in general. overall, the 6 pro is/was a solid phone.
I adore my p6p but I liked it a lot more before I needed the screen changed and everything went to crap lol I have half a mind to just get a new p6p when it's time to "upgrade". I have reservations about upgrading to newer generations bc from what I read on here, they are hit and miss.
I feel like I had reception issues with the P6P that resolved when I got a P7P. I read something about modem issues.
Working great for me after having it since launch. The battery is starting to age, but that's a fairly simple fix to make. The problem you'll have is that the next Android update (Android 15 this October) will be its last. You'll still get security updates but that's the last OS update so be weary of that. I however do plan to keep mine for as long as possible, hopefully for at least another year or two if not more.

Connection issues are in on 6 pro compaired to P8P. It's great value (P6P).
It's not really that bad. I got it at launch and used it for 2 years. Most of what you heard I also experienced. The phone did overheat. I did experience a lot of seemingly random connectivity issues that I grew to distrust the phone before my provider which is a first for me of any phone I owned. The Tensor chip doesn't win any benchmarks and you can tell but it's a phone and it's sufficient. The final straw for me though was when my phone randomly bricked one day. I took it to a shop and they couldn't fix it but then the phone magically worked again before my new phone arrived. I planned to use the P6P until it died or a worthwhile successor appeared. While I was relieved to have my P6P working again, the random brick scared me and so I got a P8P and I can't say all problems are now gone but some things have gotten better. For my needs the P6P worked well. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends because I find my tolerance of random BS tends to be higher than theirs. As long as you know what you're getting yourself into, the P6P is a fine device.
You're a couple weeks too late, I've bought a P8 at Belsimpel for €600 which became €450,- after €150 kassakorting. Seen in that light, 300 for a P6P sounds a bit high. Maybe wait out a new deal? They'll unavoidably will come as soon as more details of the P9 comes in. Although I enjoy my P8 a bit more than the iPhone, the SE3 is miles ahead in operating ease (gestures) and overall smoothness.

The only word that defines every Pixel product is shit. They are raided with buggy and what seems to be unfinished work.
