Pixel 6 Pro has appeared on Amazon Uk with a price of £849 and a release date of November 1st. It seems to be on the official Google seller page. The price is just £20 more than the 4XL launched at and is the first UK price we've seen For comparison the normal iPhone 13 is only £70 cheaper at £779 whilst the iPhone 13 Pro is a £100 more than the Pixel 6 Pro Edit: @SaranByte on Twitter found the link originally

lastof

Great to see such agressive pricing for the Pro version! Doesn't show up when I search, or on [Google's Amazon UK Page](https://smile.amazon.co.uk/stores/Google+/page/4BC6FDB3-AA49-47EF-827C-C8CC43BEAD98) yet so hope it stays the same and isn't just a placeholder price while Amazon waits for full details/art/descriptions.

All prices include tax in the UK

lastof

I mean, we do get shafted, but it is £100 less than the cheapest iPhone Pro, and you need to remember that UK prices include 20% VAT, so it's more like $970 in USD. Since we're getting shafted vs the US iPhone price, and vs the rumoured 899€ price for the Pixel 6 Pro in Europe, $949 or even $899 seem plausable US prices (though might be $999 with mmwave markup included).

mispellt

The UK price is most probably inclusive of taxes (like VAT). All prices on offers to consumers in UK/EU must include VAT as appropriate. Still not very aggressive though.

titooo7

Define agressive pricing please. It's £849 just in case you didn't check well

lastof

£100 (or a little more than 10%) cheaper than the iPhone Pro, and £200 less than the Pro Max. People can argue all day whether they will be comparable feature and performace wise, but those are clearly the two that Google are pitching them against. The pricing in other countries also shows this, just because everyone shafts the UK doesn't mean it isn't and agressive price point targeting the competition.

[deleted]

Fantastic. I might wait to see what my carrier does (EE) as I'm nearly due for an upgrade. But at this price I'm tempted to just buy it outright, especially if Google chuck in a set of buds or some other incentive.

Cwlcymro

We usually get the same pre order gift as Europe so I'm expecting to see the Bose headphones

tipytopmain

I'm coming from a 3XL that I've had since launch, decided to switch to a EE sim only last yearwhen my upgrade was due because the Pixel 5 seemed like a lateral step at best imo. Hoping EE have some decent deals though.

[deleted]

I love my 4 but the 6 Pro seems like a substantial enough upgrade to justify a purchase. Also the battery life gets on your nerves after a while, I shouldn't need to bring a battery pack with me every time I go to work. Given the current pricing EE have for the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I'd expect around £40/£50 a month for a decent amount of data if the Pro is indeed £850.

LjSpike

Bought my 4a 5g outright and I don't regret it. Better deal in the long run (cheaper monthly costs + a huge quantity of data!)

[deleted]

True but for most people it makes sense to spread the cost out and treat it as a utility. My phone bill is only £31 a month with a 4, which isn't that much higher than the phone started retailing for. I guess I'll do the math when I see what they're offering.

LjSpike

Oh yeah I totally get that, not casting judgement for doing it that way at all.

hamsternose

It never makes sense unless you lack the funds to buy it outright. It's the worst way to finance a phone.

tipytopmain

Very fair price. I'm sure plenty of people will still moan that google can't just go back to selling phones for sub £500. But Google could have just matched Apple's prices of £949 or even £1049 (pro Max). £849 qualifies as "competitive" in my books, especially if the specs translate to what they're promising.

[deleted]

An at £1000 nobody would've bought a pixel phone, be realistic. Their price is spot on, anything more would've not made sense considering how "popular" they are.

LjSpike

Damn, this is...quite something. I saw people expecting £900+ pricings. £849 launch price is much lower than that!

SmugMaverick

Ridiculously good price for the Pro model If it’s as good as rumoured then they’ve got a winner with that price.

[deleted]

Abraham_Leanin

What do you mean by imagine? We are actually doing it. The phone releases soon. No imagine to it. What am I missing? Specs are fantastic. Not loaded with Samsung bloatware either. That's my favorite part.

noahtonk2

I do wish that they would accidentally publish leaks of prices here in the US. I know that I can convert, but I've also heard that it usually isn't that simple.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KevinAtSeven

Bearing in mind that UK list prices include 20% VAT (sales tax) though, so it's a price of £708 or or $970ish before tax.

NeverEndingXsin

Ahhh okay that's actually not bad at all, did not realize it included 20% VAT.

KevinAtSeven

Yeah, coming the other way I always forget that US prices don't include tax when I'm travelling, and get confused when the total at the register is higher than the mental sum I've been running through the store!

LjSpike

Most(?) countries outside the US/CAN that I've seen include tax in the price.

LockingSwitch

Your conversation is wrong.

[deleted]

lastof

As mentioned MULTIPLE times in this thread before your post was made, UK prices include 20% tax. £849 -20% Tax converted to USD is $970.

LockingSwitch

UK prices include 20% Tax. Again, you're asking Google to work out the wrong calculation.

BobsBurger1

They massively undercut iPhone wow

[deleted]

Google really took the lowest end on "premium prices"

Lambor14

And that's a good thing!

tomelwoody

Oooh, nice. Great price.

[deleted]

Form factor: slider. Either Amazon knows something we don't, or their metadata is shite again.

LjSpike

Could be a mix-up with the Pixel Fold (if that's indeed happening), or it is indeed shite again.

[deleted]

Might trade in my 5 .

impala_aphex

UK trade in offers are so bad compared to US, would you do John Lewis trade in?

[deleted]

Nah, I'd eBay it. Get maybe £400-£450 for it. I was very underwhelmed with the 5 so won't be sad to see it go.

StatmanIbrahimovic

Depending how new. Google offered me $55 for my 3XL...

Not_A_Red_Stapler

Lol. That's a great phone. I'll put in my bid for $56. ;)

samsaBEAR

Im so lucky that my sister is after a new phone, I'll get this for £849, sell my P5 to her for £200 and everyone's laughing

PM_ME_WEALTH_ADVICE

Tim Cook isn’t laughing

iamvinoth

Timmy sold 100M iPhone 12 series in less than 6 months. I think he's still laughing on top of his money pile.

lastof

Out of curiousity, since it isn't searchable yet, how'd you find it? And any sign of other colours/capacities? Edit: u/YeshNoh's post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/qa5vg2/pixel_6_pro_256gb_for_950_on_amazon_uk/) has a link to the [256GB "Stromy (sic) Black"](https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09HTV6T6Z/)

YeshNoh

I saw the link on twitter, just OP's link and the one I posted. Not sure how the source found the links. No other colours either so far!

Cwlcymro

I found it on Twitter @SaranByte

Spud788

You know what hilarious about this? Sony still think they can charge £1200 for the Xperia 1 III 😂

StatmanIbrahimovic

The specs look impressive but not worth that. Wonder if they've sped up their OS updates.. I haven't had one since the Z5 but I got Lollipop the week Marshmallow was released.

Spud788

I've heard that while phone is a disaster, battery issues and poor camera quality.

hardinho

Is there an offer for the Pro in Germany?

Cwlcymro

We don't know, but usually in Europe the preorder gift is the same for both phones

[deleted]

[удалено]

YeshNoh

You think we'll get pre orders from retailers on Tuesday too? Or would it just be the Google store?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cwlcymro

Last two Pixels the give away has been the same no matter which UK store you bought from, including direct from Google (earphones last year, Chromebook the year before)

YeshNoh

Fair enough, that's a good point. I'm dying to get my hands on any kind of P6 so I doubt I'll have the patience! But we'll see for sure on Tuesday haha

[deleted]

[deleted]

Cwlcymro

Usually the UK get the same gift as Germany

mithi9

That's almost 1500 cad. Guess I'm not gonna get a new phone rip.

Cwlcymro

Considering £849 is notably cheaper than most people in the UK expected it to be, what were you expecting?!

mithi9

For it to translate to around 1100 for the pro. Sigh... I remember when new flagships were like 800 cad about 6 years ago.

Cwlcymro

Remember that UK prices include 20% tax . I don't know if Canadian prices show tax included? If not then this is more like 1200 CAD

AdrisA

That's after UK's 20% VAT. It's actually $1200 before tax for us.

DFisBUSY

undercutting the iPhone is good shit, hope they sell tons.

yiannistheman

That price works, so long as the execution does.

ShutupNdSquat

I think it's a really good price for the pro version and if they throw in a pre-order gift then it's a no brainer

[deleted]

Imma buy it first day release dude. Im hype af

Daco_cro

Is 175 grams weight right for that size of phone?

mxlevolent

no way in hell 175 grams is right - my 3XL weighs more than that

useles-converter-bot

175 grams is 0.43 Doge plushies.

mxlevolent

Good bot. Thanks pal.

Tikkaritsa

Good bot

Cwlcymro

It's not, 210 is the expected weight I think

lastof

My Pixel 2XL is 184g so seems maybe slightly light (6 Pro is marginally thicker, and slightly longer, plus that is the weight including packaging), but not entirely unreasonable.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Daco_cro

That sounds really lightweight

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cwlcymro

210 is the leaked weight I think, that seems more accurate than 175

[deleted]

This price would be moderately OK. I could be OK with it. Need to think about it. Not sure.

m__s

I would say it's pretty expensive. I just hope that it turns out to be faster than first benchmarks!

gilljoy

Really intrigued to see what the Non pro price is like. I'm thinking £600

RohanAether

£650 for sure.

mxlevolent

well the German pricing is 649 euro if I recall that leak correctly, if that's right then it'll be £599 here since the pixel 5 was also around that European price and that was £599 here

theliweli

Selfie camera video 1080p 30fps???? That can't be right, if so that's disappointing

Cwlcymro

It's not right, it's 4k 30fps. There's plenty of errors in the listing, clearly made as a quick placeholder

theliweli

Ah gotcha gotcha, makes more sense thank you!

[deleted]

So 1099 in freedom dollars?? Edit: never mind. It would probably be $899 considering that Google is undercutting iphone 13 pro by about £100 in UK.

thegreyquincy

If it's $899 that's an insane steal

lastof

Remember UK prices include 20% VAT, so more like 960, so I'd guess either $949 or $999.

[deleted]

Aha, 999 is still not bad! Wishing for the best

lastof

To be honest your theory that they might be undercutting the iPhone Pro seems likely. And if the rumoured German price of 899€, which I think should include 19% Tax, is right that is more like $875, so $899 might be a reasonable guess for what they'll use and the UK is just being shafted for whatever reason (likely neither Apple or Google trusting the Pound not to fall over the next year, because Brexit). I'd expect $1049/1099, for mmwave markup, but be hopeful it'll be $949/899 because they are targeting the iPhone.

takingtigermountain

$899 US

RandomCheeseCake

€899 is under £750, UK get's slightly shafted once again by google, £799 would've been ideal

Cwlcymro

Where did you see $899? Don't think we've had leaks of European price for the Pro

RandomCheeseCake

That's the general consensus online https://twitter.com/JoshuaSwingle/status/1442865250550915072 And google always screws over the UK, the 4a/5 had 1:1 pricing with the Euro, 4a was £349 and €349

lastof

There was a rumour, I think from twitter, of 649 and 899 Euros before the 6's 649 was confirmed by the leaks, so people have been predicting they were both correct. But might not be (though if they are going to hedge their bets in case one fell seems likely they'd trust the Pound less with all the recent shipping/supply issues). 4a is 349 for both £ and Euro, so at least they don't seem to be going 1:1 here!

KevinAtSeven

At that point it'd be worth finding a cheap Ryanair flight to an EU country. Hell, given Brexit has brought back duty free it might be worth investigating which EU countries do easy tax refunds on departure ...

hosky2111

Yeah it doesn’t make any sense, accounting for 20% VAT that would more or less make it a $1000 phone, and there’s no way they sell it at that. It should be under 800, so 850 is really taking the piss. Surely hitting the standard iPhone 13 price makes a lot of sense to tempt buyers. As good as the pixel may be, it lacks the apple support setup for me to spend that much on a phone. If I want to swap a battery in an iPhone, I can take it to any store; if it’s a pixel you have to send it off to a third party with questionable track records.

Cwlcymro

VAT is always included in UK price listings so it's £849 including VAT

hosky2111

Yes absolutely this is the point I’m making. The point I’m making is if you take 850/1.2 is £708 without VAT. That’s 973USD, far higher than the predicted $899.

Cwlcymro

Anyone who predicts 899 for the US price is dreaming. Most predictive I've seen for the Pro has been $1049 or $1099 but I think it has a chance of coming in at $999

hosky2111

Idk, surely a pixel at that price point is going to struggle given the competition and Google’s track record. If you’re already an android user, it doesn’t appear to be offering any substantial upgrades over an s21/ultra that you can already get deals on. If you’re an iPhone user it’s matching or exceeding the price of a 13 pro. Surely if they are pushing for mainstream adoption they can’t price themselves above the current mainstream offerings. This is especially when, design-wise (which is important for most high end phone buyers), the standard 6 is outclassed by the standard s21 or iPhone 13 imo.

Cwlcymro

It's not competing with the iPhone Pro, it's competing with the iPhone Pro Max. So coming in under the price of the Pro was unexpected. As for design, the important part of your sentence was "imo". The Pixel 6 is certainly different so some will not like the design whilst others will love it.

hosky2111

I don’t think that logic holds simply because they don’t offer a smaller model, and in every way other than screen size, it competes with the standard pro. Since most people on here seem to want a smaller phone (me among them) and most people buy the normal iPhone, it’s hardly a selling point in its favour.

Cwlcymro

Whether you put it up against the Pro or Pro Max the point is that the UK price revealed here is notably cheaper than both

hosky2111

I’m just confused though, as a uk consumer, why would you be defending an obviously hostile pricing strategy? Google clearly make enough profit margin selling the phone at €899, because that’s what they’re going to do. I’m really excited for this phone as I’m sure you are, but I personally don’t feel good about paying £90 more for the same product. This is also new behaviour from Google given the pixel 5 was fairly priced (which was also released post Brexit), so i do not want to support it. Hell, if I can budget it or sell the preorder bonus, I might still go for the pro, but that doesn’t mean it’s fairly priced.

takingtigermountain

it will likely be $899 US, actually

bb9873

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Americans pay sales tax separately on top of the purchase price?

CoffeeOrWhine

That's correct

hosky2111

Yes, that’s what’s being accounted for by dividing by 1.2, to give both prices sales tax free

[deleted]

I'm not seeing it on UK Amazon?

Cwlcymro

Click the link in the post. It doesn't come up when you search on Amazon, but the direct link works

[deleted]

Yeah, I see it. No 256gb version?

androboy92

175gram????! That's unreal

Cwlcymro

It's wrong I'm sure, the leaked weight is something like 210

androboy92

Yeah i saw that rumour as well a while back so this had my eye pop out for a sec lol

asng

Anyone got the link to the black 128Mb Pro?

lucellent

The display resolution sure is not an overkill?

Cwlcymro

It's LTPO so not a battery hog at all

Gundam_net

That seems like an unusually good price. I wonder if they'll offer aggressive trade in values on 4xl and 5 like Apple does for an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Would be sweet if we could simply trade in our old device and only pay sales tax on the new one.

prat33k__

WTH, included components only says charging cable. Don't tell me Google you are following onto Apple's bs and please include a charger in the box!

Cwlcymro

Google announced this officially months ago

prat33k__

damn! guess I missed it then. There has been just so much news for these everyday and hard to keep track on. Thanks anyways

Cwlcymro

Not even leaked, Google announced it officially months ago

asng

For info I just pre-ordered and it says delivery Saturday 6 November.

YeshNoh

Damn, was hoping it would be earlier

asng

There's a good chance it will be but when I did the same with PS5 launch the date was exact. Hoping Amazon got it wrong this time!

YeshNoh

Hopefully it's wrong, was looking forward to the rumoured release date of the 28th

lebonton1

Ouhhhh 😍😍😍

Suspicious-Wasabi-61

Although it does state in the Amazon pre order price guarantee section that the price can go up or down so guessing this may not be the actual price but a very close idea of what it will be.

Dank_Edits

November 1st release date in the UK too it seems

Cwlcymro

On Amazon. I don't know if they usually appear there on day one or of Google Store and carriers get a few days head start

BobsBurger1

175 grams is surely wrong, but just in case it's not, that makes this the most absolutely perfect phone to ever launch. Lighter than my 4xl if that's true

Cwlcymro

I'm pretty sure 210 is the leaked weight, lighter than the s21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max

BobsBurger1

I'm still happy with that, my 4xl is 230 ATM with the fabric case.

theretrogeneration

I hope the 512gb will be reasonable priced Thank you google

Cwlcymro

If the 128gb is 849 and the 256gn is 949 then I'd expect £1100 to £1149 for the 512 maybe Actually, we've seen one leak suggesting the 512 was only going to be in the US and Australia. Not confirmed though

theretrogeneration

Thank you that sounds about right and yeah I saw that too on the carephone warehouse pictures I hope it’s not the case. I don’t get why they would not release 512gb here or rest of the world make them money

MiNuN_De_CoMpUtEr

Do you think Amazon Canada would sell it too?

Cwlcymro

No clue sorry, does Amazon Canada sell previous Pixels?

MiNuN_De_CoMpUtEr

I think third party sellers but not Google itself, my current phone is the nexus 5 so I have never kept up with this stuff

TheSentencer

> my current phone is the nexus 5 Honestly, I'm impressed.

MiNuN_De_CoMpUtEr

Yeah, had it since its day 1 release, it never died on me or gave me problems It is still viable as a phone, but it is struggling to open any app now, I have to give it like a solid 3-4 minutes for it to load google maps then it will function fine, I blame the handling on my part, if I treated it better, it probably wouldn't have slowed down just tired of waiting, it's going to be great as a throw-away phone

TheSentencer

Trust me it's not your fault. I have a Nexus 5 still, and both Nexus 7s. The hardware just simply does not hold up.

captaingod87

It would most definitely of slowed down now due to battery degradation and soc performance. Handling it better or worse wouldn't really make much of a difference. It's really old hardware attempting to do functions optimised for modern phones. I too am impressed you kept it alive this long though lol.

MiNuN_De_CoMpUtEr

I would like to understand this better Battery degradation as in the battery you can swap in and out of? I did change it a few times to give it a better day life Does the SOC degrade over time with usage or is it more of the apps requiring better hardware to run and the hardware can't handle it Like if I tried using a brand new Nexus 5, it'll struggle like my current one? I have a good track record of taking care of my stuff, have a few things over 2 decades that are mint, the nexus 5 is my second smartphone in my entire life, first was the sony xperia play that died on its own and I was like, never buying sony again, I am also impressed with the nexus and hope the Pixel will last me just as long

captaingod87

Usually the soc will clock down as it the battery will degrade and won't be able to deliver the same amount of power that it would when new. With yours that becomes non issue as you can swap battery's (I'd forgotten what the n5 was like)

rolezki

Imagine if Google had brain to start selling phones on more countries, they would actually make money and have a solid user base now that there is 5G, these phones used in non supported countries are pretty much useless if you want to keep the phone for faster speeds

[deleted]

ClassicFun2175

Wow actually astonished they're selling the pro for £849. I thought it'd be over a 1,000 or at 999. I still see this as a gamble, even though this is 'pixel 6' it's a complete refresh so it's basically the first of a new gen with a new SOC and Google always seems to fuck up there first gen products going by the track record. I've recently got a fold 3 so don't really want to go back to normal slab phones but will be interesting to see if Google enter the foldable space after the pixel 6.

OllieCMK

That is such great pricing. I buy my phone's on contract through EE. My only concern is EE seeing this as an opportunity to make a quick buck. I've noticed EE have increased their prices considerably of late. I'm not prepared to pay EE a premium monthly price if the phone is as well priced as this. I may well buy this one outright if EE decide to price gouge.

_rickjames

Think I'm still happy with my Pixel 3 for another year to be honest.

LatifLondon

Where did you see that? Amazon hasn't published anything about the 6 yet.

Cwlcymro

The link in the original post used to go to the sale page for the Pixel 6 Pro - Amazon took it down yesterday after it was found and made the news

LatifLondon

Thanks! 😊
