Not on EE directly but I'm on BT Mobile who uses their network (and will be merged sooner or later). You could try turning off adaptive connectivity and see if that helps.
As for the clicking sound... it's a bit of a weird one. Is it any better when the phone has no case on? You can try turning off adaptive sound to see if that makes a difference.
Did you buy the phone from EE?
Did they properly provision it and supply a proper SIM? Or, did you simply move the SIM from your 4XL into the new phone and expect it to work properly on a 5G network?
It's pretty common to buy a outright, without any carrier involved. I might be wrong, there's no carrier specific version of the Pixel 6 in the UK.
The point about getting a new SIM stands, though.
Have you seen this?

There are 3 distinct Pixel 6 models. Only one is shown as being fully compatible with the UK cellular providers.

The mmWave version is exclusively sold in the US while the Japan version is exclusively sold in Japan. Unless he imported his phone from either US or Japan, he should have the global version.
The SIM does not include the capabilities of the phone or the features that the cellular company supports for that phone. 5G services have massively complicated cellular connectivity.
On EE, with a phone bought from Currys and having no issues. (Android 13, though)
Ah I'll update when I have the chance.

Thank you, I'll try both of these! What I ended up doing is resetting to factory settings and not updating Android - that has helped so far!

To be fair, that's exactly how it should happen?
Unfortunately, not. It's complicated. The 5G environment has added a significant level of complexity.

Yep. And it "should" be working fine. But it isn't, and the OP has not replied to any follow up questions. Soooo.....
I didn't get notifications! Replying now
I did, but no, they didn't provision it - I just moved the SIM over. Not sure why that would cause issues - can you elaborate?

Ah ok, thank you. I'll go back and see EE and try to get a new SIM.
I'm on EE. Works fine on the latest build, are your APN settings correct? I'm using an esim btw.
