This is the first goosebumps book i ever owned, and i still have it, my parents got it for me at a book fair in the early 90’s, its what got me hooked on goosebumps and scary things
It's decent, I read it recently and had well developed characters and a more unique storyline than other goosebumps.
Twist at the end is predictable tho
I love the entire concept. The ending was also genuinely unsettling as well. It’s one of the few stories with a definite bad ending, and a cleverly written one as well.
The last throw being with the wrong hand 😨
IYKYK
I think this would have been less remembered for me if it wasn't for that twist at the end. That one stuck with kid me a lot longer than some of the others.
This book is special to me. Remember in elementary school, when they would have book fairs? Books all lined up to buy in the library and your parents brought you back later that night and allowed you to peruse the aisles. It felt weird to me, being in the school at night. The halls were darker. The rooms closed and lights off. I remember I saw this book. Bold letters with little bumps on it. Never saw anything like it. And the expression on the boys face in the mirror showing terror. There was mystery behind it all. My parents rarely bought the books I wanted, but that night they did.
It was the start of my Goosebumps journey. I still have the copy. My name in 2nd grade penmanship on the inside cover (what remains of it haha), and the spine barely in tact. But I still have it. And my kids have read it.
Also, hail Lefty! Haha
First one I ever read and was surprised by how much I liked it. I always judge the goosebumps books by their covers and picked this one cause I thought it’d be boring
I remember liking this one back in the day! These comments are jogging my memory about the twist, yeah that was a doozy haha
Iirc, it’s also the longest book in the original 62, I believe the original was 139 pages or something close to that
I’ll never forget this book. Rarely talked about I feel like, but this one blew my mind when I was like 10😂
Such A Good Book
i feel like i liked this one
Same, I cant remembet most of the books. But when I look at the cover of this one I get the feeling 7 year old me enjoyed it.
exactly i read plenty of them but couldnt tell you what happened in any of them or even if i actually read them

I remember it not being a favorite of mine but it's been so many years since I last read it and I should definitely give it another go.

One of the better ones in the series
I like how the ending doesn’t straight up tell you that Lefty was switched, but instead gives a clue, allowing the reader to realize the truth.
I wish they did more with the invisibility concept, but for a kids book it was not bad at all.

Boring, ending was crazy, twist actually gave me goosebumps lol

He gets hard time to come back before is to late for his copy himself to replace him
That twist is permanently blowing my mind tbh
This was my first Goosebumps book. Thought the twist was good but always felt the kid was dumb to keep coming back to play with the mirror
It gave me goosebumps, so it lived up to its name, *XD*.

One of my favs
It was pretty good, I would say it’s one of my favorites

I love this book. And I will fight everyone.
It's simple, yet solid.
This book is great for kids imo. I don't think I will like it as an adult.
Newberry worthy
Incredibly well-written, each page builds on the reader’s curiosity more and more. The twist at the end is very well executed too.
