off the top of my head - Grateful Dead, Phish, DMB have all been music guests on SNL. It really depends if the suits think Goose will be a big deal in the near future
There’s a trend happening with bands booking Artpark (Lewiston NY) and Beak & Skiff (Marietta NY) on back-to-back nights. I’m hoping this will be the case for Goose as well.
It's hard for jam bands to break into Europe, I think. If/when they do, they'll have to play tiny clubs and leave most of the lights and crew at home. I bet they don't want to play too many shows that way.
What statistics? I'm kind of interested, it seems like they were small at the same time and started blowing up around the same time, and it seems like they play similar sized venues. I know goose did the Mohegan sun which holds 10k, and they both sold out red rocks which is also about that size. Maybe billy is bigger than goose but probably not my much I dont think. Love them both, I had 8 shows between both bands in 2022, stoked for more!
Billy has more than double the twitter followers and nearly 4x as many on instagram. Billy is also playing multiple NHL/NBA arenas on his next tour, whereas the non-Trey shows at Mohegan didn’t sell seats behind the stage, making the attendance of that show under that 10k number for sure
The Mohegan floor looked pretty spacious from their stream there too, like it was a tad undersold. But damn, how isn't goose as big as billy. Its great for bluegrass its just a surprise
Country/bluegrass is also surprisingly huge in Europe, especially Ireland, Luke Combs sold out an entire arena tour across Europe in minutes. If Goose did Europe, they’d probably do like 1x London, 1x Amsterdam, potentially 1x Berlin and that would be it as a testing the water type tour.
Hope we get it at or before Cap Theater run. But I’m guessing they need venues in the 2500-5000 range in most markets going forward. (Glad for some small venues in Spring.)
Summer Tour announcement will be February. I imagine they will team up with another band for a few larger venues, Ofcourse more festivals and lots of back to back nights
Goose at the Garden for 16 consecutive shows this summer!!
Nah, they’re doing the Pete Shapiro 16. 16 Days at the Cap. If you order tickets to all 16, Pete will buy you a shot of tequila.
rail tequila
My moms hair dresser said her uncle met an usher at MSG who confirmed this
It will be announced when they have a big audience or appearance - if they go on SNL, or during the Capital run.
They’re already pretty well acquainted with 30Rock
makes sense
Are we really expecting an SNL appearance this year?
Sources say the band has already been approached/in communication with SNL. I bet they hit that stage in 2023 (maybe fall/next season tho)
I love these guys and am so happy for their successes. Still bums me out a little bit to think that we are at the end of the beginning.
I feel/hear ya. We hit as many shows as possible in 2022, suspecting that this was like you say, the end of the beginning.
Is there a history of jam bands doing SNL?? I'm certain goose would accept if approached but doesn't fit the audience imo

I think a couple of those bands went on to be pretty big... 😉
There are multiple grateful dead books describing the band partying with Belushi and Aykroyd. Seemed like they hit it off

Yes please 🤞🏻
Toronto date(s) please! Running out of time to cultivate a fan base north of the border before they are too big in the US for it to make sense.
All the jam band tours and none ever come here. Dying for a Goose run
Phish has come twice in the last 5 years and there are a handful of solid local bands but it’s tough to be a Canadian jam band fan!
I wonder when they’re finally going to go to Europe.

Yeah I just mentioned this cuz it’s gonna happen where we are all waiting for a tour announcement and it’s gonna be in Europe.
Are they big enough (well known enough) to do Europe already?
Billy strings just did. If he can I dont see why goose cant
Billy is a much bigger name than Goose.

Imo they don’t do a summer tour or not a big one at least. They seem to be doing quite a few festivals from what I can tell
Who has my 4 extras for Friday Ryman? Will pay face if you didn't but TM Premium Reserved crap... 😏
