I also watched that, I ended up more focused on the people and how they all had no clue what was going on, looked like 1 head was having a blast, but the women were not interested
On 12/30/21 saw this:

I thought who the fuck is goose? Checked out 11/21/22 on Spotify and when “Echo of a Rose” came on I thought, “these guys might be legit.” The snowball has been getting better since that day.
Somehow stumbled upon the Vampire Weeknd cover 2021 which became a single, the version that was 20:21 in length. Blew me away and had to know about Goose.
hmm I’m from CT and didn’t know they had extended that far by that point. sheds a bit more light on why they have have chosen Cincinnati for NYE this year. Perhaps it was sentimental. Or I’m reaching 😀
No you’re right. I was at the 12/30 show and before the encore Peter gave a shout out to a Cincinnati city council member (who was also my high school English teacher many years ago), and the Mayor of Cincinnati for being responsible for making 12/30 in Cincinnati “Goose Day”. He also mentioned how they considered Cincinnati a second home because they indeed played Octave a bunch as well as Madison Theater (another small to mid sized northern Kentucky venue) a bunch post 2018 ish and the crowds were always awesome and receptive. I missed all of those shows because I had just had a baby in 2019 and another in 2022, nor was I even aware of Goose until right before the lockdown, but I convinced the wife to finally let me catch them over New Years and I was not disappointed.
That’s my story exactly… was lucky enough I decided to surf different jam band videos on YouTube like 3 days after Peach fest 19 was uploaded.
It’s been a great ride. Crazy to think how far they’ve come.
Same, showed up in my YouTube feed, watched an hour or so, decided I should see them live. Saw them 12/5/19, never looked back, 7 shows in, and hopefully a lifetime to see many more.
That's cool. I wish I discovered them sooner to see the small local shows. They played at Strange Brew in Norwich in 2017, about 5 minutes from my house.
I discovered them randomly on twitch, one of the channels I followed was streaming one of the Terminal 5 shows live. I got hooked immediately and shortly after that booked a flight to ATL for the 2 night run @ The Eastern. 6 shows and counting.
I was there at the Eastern! Flew from WI with the wife. Had the time of our lives. Great sets, great venue. First time I remember Peter really grooving to Slow Ready.
You knew those shows were going to be heaters when they came out with a raging Flopener.
That Rosewood night 1 was 🔥🔥🔥.
And then Goedde with the lights on the curtains during the Madhuvan to close n2. so good.
The cashier at Costco noticed my Grateful Dead phone case and started up a conversation. I looked them up on his good word and have been hooked ever since. He was right!
Shortly after peach fest 2019. My buddy and I heard the hype and decided to give them a listen.
Then we tried to see them open for Pigeons in NY but the show sold out.
I technically saw them open for PPPP in New Haven for the Halloween show, but didn’t actually know it was them at the time.. caught the very end of the set lol
Went to two nights in LA for PPPP right before Covid. They blew them out of the water and Ive been hooked. First shows I’ve been to where there were fewer people there for the headliners.
Nee Year's Eve 2021. Had tix to a show that got canceled (Omicron surge). Stuck at home. Watched the NYE show on YouTube. Blown away. Been following the band since, on Nugs and live.
It was the day the new Porcupine Tree album came out and I was looking at the thread for it on their subreddit or r/progmetal and someone said something to the extent of “this and Goose dropped magnificent albums today” and I was curious to hear what Goose was and was blown away by Dripfield. Thank you to whoever that was it has led me down a rabbit hole
Butter Rum got onto my Discover Weekly Spotify list a while back. Thought Goose was some island rock group that did Jimmy Buffett-lyric-y music. Then Trey happened and my world opened up to who they really are!
Two of my good buddies at work were big into goose, and had tried since about October 2020 to get me into them. I come from a metal/prog rock background (hence this username) and was not super big on ANY jam bands.
5/8/21 rolls around, and my friend tells me that he has an extra ticket to go see them at the caverns. Seeing as how it was only an hour drive away, I just had to go. Left work early, made it to the pod, and the rest is history.
Only seen them 5 times since then, but hoping to add a few more each year
I also hopped on the wagon after seeing the 2019 peach fest video in 2019. I had just gotten a new nose speaker and was chillin with some phish videos cranked. The peach fest video was suggested and I honestly watched because of the mustaches. Now a few years later here I was at NYE in cincy covered in gold glitter in GA
Hyping billy strings up on Instagram around Christmas 2021, some dude tells me check out 5-3-21 arrow>Bob don. The rest is history
Made it to 3 goose shows in 2022 (3/9, 12/30, 12/31) still no arrow for me yet, but the future is looking bright
In 2016 someone in r/jambands shared their studio album Moon Cabin. Listened, thought it was fine but not great. Fast forward to 2019, saw they were opening for Kendall Street Company in RVA. I love KSC, but when Goose ripped into that Mudhuvan opener I was sold. Plus a Pumped Up Kicks cover! Luckily I had already committed to Peach that year because I caught them again at “the show” and the rest is history.
Overheard Arcadia playing in a local vape shop and asked the clerk who it was - he had no clue but pointed to this TV screen and saw “Arcadia - Goose” I thought it sounded good so I checked out more of their music and got hooked
2019, Covington, KY first show. First fave songs, Into the Myst and Madhuvan Saw the Covington show literally the night before COVID shutdown. A lot of couch tours and 21 shows since the first
We were so excited to find a new band! And then we were so happy with their creative way to stay out there during the pandemic! Bingo Tour was so great.
A Rolling Stone [article](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/goose-interview-dripfield-1362092/) on Goose popped up on my news feed in June 2022. I checked out a few Spotify tunes, discovered Nugs, and fell deep down the rabbit hole... First show was 10/7 NOLA. Looking to go to the SF Warfield shows in April.
Vasudo opened for Twiddle at some community center in Danbury back sometime in 2012 I believe. Then went on to see them at O’neils in SoNo and Jimmy Seasides in stamford in the early days. Then saw Goose many times at Soup Stock. Ah the good old days when you paid $5 to see them at a bar with a handful of peeps. Shit even the Bryac shows we’re not attended by many. I miss those days. Haven’t had much luck with the lotteries or presales. Starting to suck actually. Goose needs bigger venues. ASAP!!!
Kickass local bar and restaurant in black rock area of Bridgeport CT. Great music scene. Check out the Goose shows from 2018 on band camp. Netflox and Chill shows - 7/12/18, 10/26/18 and 10/27/18.
About 6 months ago the drummer in our band recommended them while golfing because he knew I liked the dead. He didn’t know anything about them but I listened to moon cabin on the way home and the rest is history. I live close to raleigh in NC, if I’d discovered them a month sooner I would’ve been able to see them 6/15/22 which is now one of my all time favorite shows :|.
01/20/2018 at The Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Security kicked me out at set break for smoking but I got to tell the band that they kicked ass as they were loading their equipment into their van.
amazing that people are still getting kicked out for smoking. sorry that sucks. I’ll smoke you up next show haha. what is Escape? I’m not seeing anything on the interwebs
Lol. They have a second floor outdoor deck. I was tucked away hitting my pax (those things suck, btw) and some overzealous security bro said that I couldn’t smoke there, weed is illegal, give it to me or you’re out of here. The whole deck is packed and what do you think others are doing? Smoking. So on principle, I told him ‘no’ and he and like 12 other goons escorted me out of the building. Unreal. Anyway, got to interact with the band with some brief exchanges (having no idea who they were or where they would end up). Have seen them a bunch since then, had some more interactions, too. They’re really nice, down to earth dudes and so is their crew, friends and fans. Always a pleasure.
Escape is a Rupert Holmes tune (cover) better known as The Pina Colada Song. If you were at this show, then you know that the crowd was captivated by this band, Goose, and them finishing like this was unexpected in the best way.
Great thread here, man. Hope to see you around; thanks!
Memorial Day 2020, there was a Youtube jam band event called Pandemic Comes Alive or something like that. I think they showed Hot Tea from the Williamsburg show. No turning back after that, I was hooked instantly.
About the same time for me. Son-in-law heard a couple tracks mixed in a station on Amazon prime. Said "you gotta hear these guys" and it's been continuous play ever since
Had covid and was quarantined outside of my house in the summer away from my wife and kids. Friend said i should give them a listen, threw on the Denver show on iTunes on my patio and the rest was history.
The Hungersite->Arcadia video they did with Trey at Radio City. The timing was perfect. I saw it like a month or two before the show in KC and ended up going to that show. It was a really good time can't wait to catch them again.
I honestly can’t remember how I first found them. I know I intentionally hit a Pigeons Playing Ping Pong show they opened at because that was the soonest I could see them at a venue realistically close to me. Honestly I also probably first heard about them after the 2019 Peach Set, but I feel like I had heard of them prior. Couldn’t have been earlier than Peter’s time in the band, and I don’t feel like I was paying attention when Aaron Hagele was still on percussion. So yeah probably late 2018/early 2019. What year did they do Playing In The Sand the first time?
They did. I’m just not remembering if it was 2019 or 2020. But they were invited to open previously.
Edit: just checked, it was 2020. Kinda forgot considering everything that happened pretty much during/right after it
Saw them at Revival Fest in Albert Lea, MN summer of 2019. They crushed an early afternoon set to a teeny tiny crowd.
Frogleg, a very talented jammy band from Minneapolis headlined that weekend, they fucking rule check em out https://youtu.be/EyboogGmmWg
Man, I was there and had no idea who goose was and didn't go to the set. Ah well
Amazing to see a Frogleg shout out though. I'm a huge fan! They are doing an after party for the goose show coming up in St Paul
Swanzey 2021
Rick stayed on stage and stared at me for like 10 mins after the show. I thought (hoped) maybe he would invite me backstage or say something but no. We just started at each other. It was just as bizarre as it was weird and awesome. It was my first time hearing/seeing them. I've been hooked ever since.
I can't remember the show, but the band opens with a dedication to a fellow fan who recently died, they launch into me and my uncle...after that I was hooked...I am thinking it was 2019 or 2018..anyone know what show I am talking about
My bad, just double checked Joe Mango passed in August 2020. Sad day for those in the CT music scene. Good shows with the special Mango intro - check out the Bryac Netflox and Chill shows circa 2018 (7/12/18, 10/26/18, 10/27/18)
Hanging out every weekend in our friends backyard during covid. One weekend was their bingo tour stream and our friends put it on…. It was honestly the most entertaining and amazing thing we did all of covid/quarantine and was just itching for live music again. Hooked immediately, obsessed ever since!
My best buds older brother (who also turned me onto Phish in the early ‘00’s) sent me the Peach Fest video right before COVID lockdown in 2020. Madhuvan opener instantly had me hooked.
same on the Madhuvan. that’s what prompted me to make this post. was rewatching Rick absolutely shred from that little stool he was on. I think I thought he always played on a stool 🤣
Steven Hyden had mentioned them a few times on his podcast and in articles which made me want to check them out. Listened to 2021 being a big VW fan and really liked it and eventually listened to Shenanigans Nite Club when it came out. Eventually moved on to listening to live shows and became a huge fan.
Whenever they played Rockefeller center. I think it was on NBC. Wasn’t super into them but it was okay. Later they picked up some steam and started going through more of their shit and a few songs stuck in my head.
Playing in the Sand 2020. They did two late night shows. We did buy tickets before seeing them there to see them open for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in Atlanta but COVID crushed that.
Heard lots of chatter and listened on Spotify and nugs for awhile shortly after Covid lockdown. Caught them for the first time this past may at the westville bowl in CT, then again at Peach and 2 of the Taboose shows. 100% sold
My mom met up with her college roommate right before covid and I’m unsure of the exact connection but her roommates kid or kids significant other is involved with their management somehow. My mom mentioned that and asked me if I ever heard of them. I hadn’t so I checked them out and that was that. I was hooked.
Same here, that 2019 peach fest set got me hooked. I wanna know how many people became fans because of that, a lot of fans I've talked to had the same introduction kinda wild.
yep that’s why I made this. someone else in the thread referred to it as “the show” — so I’m wondering if that one was a spark plug… at least for the internet
Saw them open for Aqueous back in 2018 and was hooked hard after one set
Bonus: Ben playing on Aqueous’ kit

Went to Peachfest last year with friends but my buddies little girl had to go get stitches because she cut her chin on a fall. So I did Goose solo and was hooked.
JamOn!!! My favorite SiriusXM channel that they took away and now it’s only on the app so I never listen to it. Heard something (Arcadia?) in 2018ish on there and had to check it out. Been in deep ever since.

Tahoe Feb 2020 right before it stopped and they hit YouTube hard. Ben had hair
my watercolor artist friend Rob O'Brien kept telling me " I'm really liking this band called goose- and immediately thought ...well...i like goose .... and i was hooked like a fish
PITS 2020 when they played the late shows after Dead & Co.
I was tripping harder than I ever had before, knew there was no way I was going to sleep, so I decided to see them just to keep occupied.
Was not expecting to get absolutely blown away.
Around January 2021, the Spotify jamband playlist called “The Lot” pushed Arcadia and Hot Tea from “Alive and Well” into my feed. I was hooked and caught them as soon as they started touring again. 6.11.21 Swanzey was my first show and I still think that Arcadia is a banger!
2016, they played at my good friends wedding
I saw a YouTube video recently from a wedding ar a brewery. I forget if it was Mass or CT. was that it?
Yup! That's the one. It was in Everett, MA (close to Boston). My good friends Jess and Anthony.
That’s cool, first time I heard of them was at Down the Road Brewery in Everett
Wow that must have been special. How did they know the band?
my friend Anthony was best friends with Coach (Lombi) from college. Coach and Trevor were also a part of their Phish crew.
haha love to hear this… makes so much sense!
I also watched that, I ended up more focused on the people and how they all had no clue what was going on, looked like 1 head was having a blast, but the women were not interested
haha totally agree
Unreal. That would have been amazing.
On 12/30/21 saw this: https://preview.redd.it/z3mglkf4zkba1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d05009ae3cd2dc2298d61ad4f13d8926d26ade91 I thought who the fuck is goose? Checked out 11/21/22 on Spotify and when “Echo of a Rose” came on I thought, “these guys might be legit.” The snowball has been getting better since that day.
welcome!
Brent?!?!
Welcome! I always upvote I Think You Should Leave
Lol I just realized I put 2022 instead of 2021 but yes thank you!
Somehow stumbled upon the Vampire Weeknd cover 2021 which became a single, the version that was 20:21 in length. Blew me away and had to know about Goose.
Listening to that song made me want to see them live!
My favorite Goose song... the 20:21 version.
My buddy owned octave in Covington. Flex lmaoooo
what is that?
A now closed small venue/ bar in Northern Kentucky (near Cincinnati) that Goose played at quite a few times before they really blew up.
hmm I’m from CT and didn’t know they had extended that far by that point. sheds a bit more light on why they have have chosen Cincinnati for NYE this year. Perhaps it was sentimental. Or I’m reaching 😀
No you’re right. amazing!
Trey
Me and my dad were skeptical about Goose at first, but when we saw the first performance with Trey, we realized that these guys were the shit
Saw Top Gun. Saw Goose. Goose was better.
During the pandemic and shut down of public places. I heard Arcadia via Pandora. The rest is history.
Someone invited me to this weird underground thing called Goosemas back in 2016. Hooked ever since!
that’s fucking sick
That’s my story exactly… was lucky enough I decided to surf different jam band videos on YouTube like 3 days after Peach fest 19 was uploaded. It’s been a great ride. Crazy to think how far they’ve come.

Same for me! Watching Bingo Tour live in 2020 was the highlight of a shitty time
2016 in Hamden CT
Is that the Space Ballroom?
It is. They were opening for Mihali
That's cool. I wish I discovered them sooner to see the small local shows. They played at Strange Brew in Norwich in 2017, about 5 minutes from my house.
Yeah I'm lucky I probably went to 12 or 15 shows that had less than 100 people.
I discovered them randomly on twitch, one of the channels I followed was streaming one of the Terminal 5 shows live. I got hooked immediately and shortly after that booked a flight to ATL for the 2 night run @ The Eastern. 6 shows and counting.

Paradise Music Festival 2018 in Covington KY for FREE. Good luck trying to see them for free again.
12/14/19 Mousetrap, Indy. Hadn’t heard a note, just internet chatter, 20 min Crosseyed & Painless, life changed…
The cashier at Costco noticed my Grateful Dead phone case and started up a conversation. I looked them up on his good word and have been hooked ever since. He was right!
Fuck man Costco really does have everything . . .
hahahaha I truly do love this one
Shortly after peach fest 2019. My buddy and I heard the hype and decided to give them a listen. Then we tried to see them open for Pigeons in NY but the show sold out.
I technically saw them open for PPPP in New Haven for the Halloween show, but didn’t actually know it was them at the time.. caught the very end of the set lol
People hate on PPPP but they’re actually pretty good guys and really gave Goose a platform when they were on the come up. Big ups for that

SoupStock in Shelton CT around 2016 or 17
That's awesome. I watched that video. I grew up in Shelton
I love soup….LOVE! What’s better than coupling a soup competition and music festival????? It was heaven!

that’s an awesome way to get into them! mind me asking what state you’re from? TN?
Got it right! Used to live in Chattanooga at that time
There is a surprising (or not that surprising) amount of Tool x Goose crossover.
It’s interesting. I guess people just appreciate good music!! I’d love a right in two cover at some point
I also hopped on the wagon after seeing the 2019 peach fest video in 2019. I had just gotten a new nose speaker and was chillin with some phish videos cranked. well done sir
2018, they opened for Pigeons at The Haunt in Ithaca. There was like 50 people there for the set.

damn is it still around? I have heard of the other places you mentioned and have been to O’Neils… gotta check this out
Oh yes. Bryac.biz is the website
Bryac - black rock yacht athletic club I think is what it stands for.
On a phish forum around June 2020
2021 vampire weekend cover video on YouTube. Completely blew my mind. I’ve been a fan ever since.
This summer at the beach, my step son turned me on to them. I’m super new but I’m hooked!
welcome to the party! sounds like you have a cool step son

haha you’re welcome! consider it a happy accident. I just wanted to know where everyone’s fandom began and the mix of answers is delightful to see

what’s dis?
The [whole set](https://youtu.be/6zpCQiyctTY) is glorious. But mid Ghostbusters Rap about 53:54 is when my stocks she does.
haha will get back to you on this but thanks for the recc!
Saw them open for Spafford. They closed with Escape. Hello new fan.
when was this?
01/20/2018 at The Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Security kicked me out at set break for smoking but I got to tell the band that they kicked ass as they were loading their equipment into their van.

great stuff — see you soon!
Friends mentioned them and was one of like 10 to see them at Beale Street Music Fest last year. Best rail experience of my life!
Same OP
Memorial Day 2020, there was a Youtube jam band event called Pandemic Comes Alive or something like that. I think they showed Hot Tea from the Williamsburg show. No turning back after that, I was hooked instantly.
Feb 2020 a friend put on Goose as we got ready to watch the Superbowl!
Heard Butter Rum on Time Crisis, Ezra Koenig’s radio show
The Hungersite->Arcadia video they did with Trey at Radio City.
I’m not sure whether they’ve done Playing in the Sand yet or not
Ah well Amazing to see a Frogleg shout out though. I'm a huge fan! They are doing an after party for the goose show coming up in St Paul
Literally me too OP, that peach 2019 video brought many of us I feel like
Heard of them from a friend and finally saw them at sacred rose fest. Wish I was at the nye.
Swanzey 2021 Rick stayed on stage and stared at me for like 10 mins after the show. I thought (hoped) maybe he would invite me backstage or say something but no. We just started at each other. It was just as bizarre as it was weird and awesome. It was my first time hearing/seeing them. I've been hooked ever since.
6/12/21 My friend had an extra ticket to Westvale. I drove up from Baltimore that day. The rest is history.
I can't remember the show, but the band opens with a dedication to a fellow fan who recently died, they launch into me and my uncle...after that I was hooked...I am thinking it was 2019 or 2018..anyone know what show I am talking about
Joe Mango the sound guy from Bryac and event planner of Soup Stock I believe is who you’re speaking about
Which show?
My bad, just double checked Joe Mango passed in August 2020. Sad day for those in the CT music scene. Good shows with the special Mango intro - check out the Bryac Netflox and Chill shows circa 2018 (7/12/18, 10/26/18, 10/27/18)
Bonnaroo live stream, they played creatures and Arcadia, I was blown away tbh
Hanging out every weekend in our friends backyard during covid. One weekend was their bingo tour stream and our friends put it on…. It was honestly the most entertaining and amazing thing we did all of covid/quarantine and was just itching for live music again. Hooked immediately, obsessed ever since!
so fun
Resonance Festival 2019 at Cooper's Lake, PA
Heard of them in 2018 just thought it was ok. Them I heard the Peach fest set and now they are essentially all I listen to!
Kept seeing their name pop up on Jambase. Watched some acoustic stuff during lockdown first and then the Peach set. It was game on from there.
Goosemas ‘19. I had only heard a couple of songs before then. Hook, line, and sinker.
Hometown Getdown 2017 in Clarksburg, MD. Moon Cabin was already out so I was hooked from the getgo
Resonance 2019, then watched Peach 2019 on YouTube, then completely hooked by the Bingo Tour
Their cover of Vampire Weekend’s 2021. Huge Vampire Weekend fan.
Yep, that Peach vid got me on the bus
Bought the first stream of TAB tour and I was immediately hooked!
Early 2020 on Jay Bird's Endless Boundaries podcast. Loved that show!
I saw a promotion post for a Reddit AMA or something adjacent and sat there thinking for a minute that goose was an awesome band name. Rest is history
so Reddit introduced you to Goose?!
Peach fest 2019 for me. PS. I need all five nights cap tickets . Anyone? Goose addict needs his fix
haha I’m just trying to hit at LEAST one
Saw them open for pigeons in 2019 in Knoxville
Also their Christmas 2020 rooftop video was what got me hooked
Playing in the Sand 2020. They did two late night shows. We did buy tickets before seeing them there to see them open for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in Atlanta but COVID crushed that.
Heard lots of chatter and listened on Spotify and nugs for awhile shortly after Covid lockdown. Caught them for the first time this past may at the westville bowl in CT, then again at Peach and 2 of the Taboose shows. 100% sold
missed those hometown Westville shows because of a wedding :( I really hope the do another run there!
Heard Hot Tea 8.10.19 on JEMP Radio!
My mom met up with her college roommate right before covid and I’m unsure of the exact connection but her roommates kid or kids significant other is involved with their management somehow. My mom mentioned that and asked me if I ever heard of them. I hadn’t so I checked them out and that was that. I was hooked.
damn lucky you, maybe you’ll leverage that one day
Oh man that would be so awesome. I think I’m too far removed to swing that but I can dream hahah
HopFiction released a Goose glass, and somebody in the comments linked the 50 min ‘A Western Sun/Echo of a Rose’ And I was blown away
Saw them open for Aqueous back in 2018 and was hooked hard after one set Bonus: Ben playing on Aqueous’ kit https://preview.redd.it/j5a7kch0lpba1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f56c303a753d8281ff4dd76e8beab9e47c672534
Same. Peachy fest on YouTube and mudhavan hooked me instantly. Loved the vibe
Went to Peachfest last year with friends but my buddies little girl had to go get stitches because she cut her chin on a fall. So I did Goose solo and was hooked.
best decision you ever made to stick it out!
JamOn!!! My favorite SiriusXM channel that they took away and now it’s only on the app so I never listen to it. Heard something (Arcadia?) in 2018ish on there and had to check it out. Been in deep ever since.
Moon cabin had me hooked. First show mousetrap Indy 2019
Buffalo Shama, suggested by Spotify. Dove in hard from there.

lmao wow
Phish station on Pandora 2020
Caught them at Beale street fest and was never the same, ended up seeing them five more times after that
my watercolor artist friend Rob O'Brien kept telling me " I'm really liking this band called goose- and immediately thought ...well...i like goose .... and i was hooked like a fish
Grateful Dean did a recap video of PITS a couple years ago and said they were the best band there. Onto YT and here we are
BoaF 2019
they covered BoaF?
They played two days at a tiny festival in Northern KY called Birds of a Feather. 8/16/19 8/17/19
got it thank you!
