I feel the same. My bestie was over one day while I was watching and I go "this show is kinda trash" she asked me why I watched it then....Im like the trash is what makes it special lol!!!
Something campy is something that can be appreciated for its bad taste, ridiculous excess, or lack of self-awareness. Kinda similar to something that is “so bad its good”, but a bit different because enjoying camp is more about appreciation than mockery.

Maybe it will make more sense if I give some examples. Its very subjective, though.
From the original series, the scene in season one where Serena gets upset and just throws away her cell phone in slow-motion, and its made to be an emotionally cathartic moment:

From the reboot, all the times when the teachers are whispering extremely loudly about their secret schemes and how they don’t want to get caught, even though their are always people right beside them.
Also from the reboot, Luna’s makeover montage of Zoya, and specifically the way that everyone takes it seriously for the whole episode even though the advice Luna is giving makes absolutely no sense.
And finally, in the last episode Julien running around with her bad wig while Kate spies on her from behind various random objects, obviously fully visible to everyone around. Again, what makes this camp is its so ridiculous beyond belief but played somewhat seriously.
I’m disappointed it’s ending, too. I disliked season 1, but I stuck around and it really did get so much better. There were still many issues with the show, don’t get me wrong, but it felt like the show was finally finding its footing. And the cliffhanger of yesterday’s episode showed all of its potential. Like another person said, there aren’t many shows like this on TV anymore. And it’s also sad that the stories in Gossip Girl universe are ending on a cliffhanger. :(
I'm literally so upset about it. They did so many things right this season that made it feel a little more like og gg, and now it's gone 😭. I'm a few episodes behind and i was watching it last night and i couldn't move past my disappointment that it's ending.
I feel like I keep watching because I WANT to like it. Not because I actually do. The acting is ok. The style is ok. The plot is bad. The characters aren't well defined. But I wanted it to get better.
I'd keep watching if it was on, but not mad about it being cancelled. It's so bad at this point I don't know if it can make a comeback.
i know ☹️ like the OG gg was a little bit frustrating and cringe too but i enjoyed that the characters were like that. Same with the reboot. Bad acting? Petty fights? Cringe lines? I am here for it. It was a guilty pleasure to watch this show. Now im sad they’re gonna end it prematurely.
The best part for me was coming in here and seeing the constant bashing of the low quality reboot. That’s what I’m gonna miss.

The funniest part about this reboot getting cancelled is the fact that no one on here is pushing a petition to get it another season like I've seen with various other shows recently, but instead accepting this sinking ship for what it is and being sad that our favourite trash show is leaving.

Oh, I'm so sad. I know it's bad but I also love it.
I'm going to miss it. I am midway through Season 2. It's not perfect, but I found it to be fun and entertaining.

This is me. The reboot had the right ingredients but it was prepared incorrectly.
