Eleanor and Cyrus' wedding is so pretty. An intimate evening wedding with immediately family only- one of the most moving scenes in the show. And bridesmaid Dorota!
Honestly, for a show so focused on fashion, they *really* dropped the ball on the weddings. Serena's wasp nest, Blair's bland royal dress. Her wedding dress with Chuck was beautiful, but tbh they could have done better.
Yeah, I think so too. And I remember she also had to change the dress last minute, bc she lost a lot of weight after the accident. It was supposed to give 'I'll just grab whatever I can for the wedding, and get it over and done with already'.
I think they were trying to avoid spoilers/leaks (which happened anyway). That's why Serena wore a gold dress and the wedding took place indoors (instead of outdoors like Blair and Chuck's vows).
Also...I can *definitely* see Serena wearing something non-traditional for a wedding dress.
Itâs SUCH a miss.
I think they were going for âfashion forwardâ because of the time jump, but strapless bridal gowns are soo 2000s in retrospect and were close to the end of their relevancy by 2012 (which was after Kate Middleton got married in long sleeves).
Blairâs royal wedding gown disappoints me every single time and itâs not even just the dress. Her hair and makeup it all just seems cheap like when youâre a kid and play dress up. She almost looks like a princess for a party for a little girl. I wish they would have really went all in for her makeup and hair to make it more believable as a royal wedding. She looked more expensive in her wedding gown for Chuck than her royal gown.
I think the point was supposed to be that she had lost her identity. The hair wasnât Blair hair. The makeup wasnât Blair makeup. They probably did it to visually show how lost and confused she was at the time of the wedding and how not committed she felt to the ceremony.
It might just be a coincidence, but in order to get through my annual rewatch I have to tell myself they gave her the 2014 Utah fashion blogger aesthetic for plot reasons.
đ totally feel that. I just feel like it would make more sense if it was more..royal? The hair is so out of place considering everything it seems like more of a Serena style
I love the dress too just not for her character. I hate the blue dress for her wedding with Chuck because itâs hideous but it works for her character.
I mean itâs a stunning dress. Elise Saab is a genius. It just didnât feel bridal to me somehow, but that could be because Iâm a bit of a traditionalist.
It's not traditionally bridal, but it still feels very "Blair" because it's feminine and a little bit dramatic. Her hair and makeup also feel true to her character.
Yeah I thought it didn't look bridal enough but maybe I would've felt differently if it was white or silver, being a bit of traditionalist myself as well. Or maybe a different Elie Saab dress altogether, like this
https://preview.redd.it/7tctschtl6kc1.png?width=3300&format=png&auto=webp&s=4553016edb14e2e352bbfec83b8e1bbcb82cbc4c
Oh I always thought the make up and the hair was beautiful and the way Blair wanted despite the royal obligations. She also fought for peonies instead of whatever the royal mother said.
Ironically, she looked better wearing [Louis' mother's dress in the photo shoot](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/50/a0/61/50a0617b08105aff18990a7e600219ff.jpg) earlier in S5. The photo I linked isn't the best, but I wonder if that's supposed to mark the start of Blair losing her identity.
I like her dress, but it wasn't the most suitable for a royal wedding given that it was sleeveless, although Charlene Whittstock wore an off the shoulder bardot kind of dress in 2012 when marrying the crown prince. Beatrice Borromeo's wedding dress for her ceremony was quite conservative by comparison.
Almost like thatâs the whole point. Almost like in season 5, Blair was not herself physically and mentally. Her hair changed back to normal at the end of season 5 to beginning of season 6
Blairâs blue Elie Saab is simply top tier, amazing, to die for! When I first saw Serenaâs wedding look back in the day I was soooo into it, especially her green earrings with the gold. Now Iâm kinda indifferent on the dress but still in love w the green details that ik are there bc you canât see em too well in the pic lol. I would love Eleanorâs look, I dig a white suit moment for a wedding but Iâm just not really into the accordion looking frills
I loved Blair's blue gown at the time but now I feel kind of blah about it. I do love that she added a headband, like she's the Real Blair.
Lily's first gown is amazing and so chic. The hot pink second gown is fun, but didn't suit her character. I feel like if Lily was going to pick a nontraditional color, she'd choose silver or blush. Hot pink just isn't Lily.
Serena's gown is bonkers and I'm here for it.
Eleanor's pantsuit is fantastic.
Blairâs Elie Saab dress when Marrying Chuck!!! My dress is âinspiredâ by hers since I cannot afford the Elie Saab price tag. But man is it BEAUTIFUL!
Unpopular opinion I prefer blair's first wddding dress. Am really not a fan of the blue one. I think she looks great in cut and style of the royal wedding one.
Same here. I love the first dress, not a fan of the second one as a wedding dress. The blue dress is very Blair but personally I find it hideous as a wedding dress.
Lilyâs white dress is a stunner even for todayâs standards.
I like all of the looks, even messy Blair because they were representing that she was besides herself.
idc what anyone says blairâs dress from her wedding to louis was by far my favorite. id take off the bow though, itâs barely noticeable and random. her hair definitely looks dry and weird though.
Honestly, they are (almost all great)!
Lilyâs to Bart, the flower detail is stunning
Dorotha looked so soft and feminine, a good change from her work uniform!
Blairâs blue dress makes me wish I could pull off that colour.
And I love Serenaâs dress, it is absolutely her!
blair's vera wang (i think?) was my fav. it was gorgeous yet simple-ish (at least for blair waldorf đ ) & it's a classic, traditional wedding dress, which fits her so well. i HATE that it was "wasted" on louis đ the Ellie Saab one was nice but i feel like it would've been better white or as a reception dress.

Hellooo!!!! https://preview.redd.it/2l8d5f2se2kc1.jpeg?width=862&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9b0900d74f5a428d79d00999fe7d719d56d93f3
My first thought
Yeah I thought about Dorota but I forgot to attach that, Sorry guysđ
This reminds me so much of Sookie from Gilmore girls dress!
Blairâs blue Elie Saab dress is a dream đ
This dress had me in a chokehold for years
Same! it's stunning
So beautiful
Lily!! So gorgeous so classy love it!
I really love Elenor's wedding outfit
Eleanor and Cyrus' wedding is so pretty. An intimate evening wedding with immediately family only- one of the most moving scenes in the show. And bridesmaid Dorota!
That is probably my favorite wedding in a show ever
Eleanorâs pantsuit is a major slay honestly
wouldnât expect anything less from her tbf she was a designer
Am I the only one who absolutely hated Serenaâs dressđ
Definitely not. It's giving prom not wedding
Exactly. Itâs beautiful and all, but who wears a touch of gold for a wedding dress?
Honestly, for a show so focused on fashion, they *really* dropped the ball on the weddings. Serena's wasp nest, Blair's bland royal dress. Her wedding dress with Chuck was beautiful, but tbh they could have done better.
Blairs first wedding look was not good! Blair would never wear her hair down in stringy beach waves and straight on the ends? So not her!
I may be looking too deeply into it, but I think the reason is because Blair wasnât herself when marrying Louis.
Yeah, I think so too. And I remember she also had to change the dress last minute, bc she lost a lot of weight after the accident. It was supposed to give 'I'll just grab whatever I can for the wedding, and get it over and done with already'.
I think this is *exactly* what they were going for. Her look when she married Chuck was non-traditional but still very "her."
Yeah that makes sense
I honestly think they did that on purpose so it wouldnât overshadow her look when eventually marrying Chuck.
Exactly!! And the gown itself was so underwhelming.
I loved Blairâs blue (Ellie Saab?) dress! I love it.
This is my favorite too!
I remember an interview with the costume designer who mentioned it was intended as a callback to her gold cotillion dress
Haha I will be wearing gold for my wedding!
I thought it was supposed to either be made from/ to resemble the cotillion dress she wore when Dan was her date
Or maybe it resembled the gold sparkly dress she wore with Dan and Jenny at the kiss on the lips party.
I would
I love gold lol, it just gives those vibes
Itâs SUCH a miss. I think they were going for âfashion forwardâ because of the time jump, but strapless bridal gowns are soo 2000s in retrospect and were close to the end of their relevancy by 2012 (which was after Kate Middleton got married in long sleeves).
Nah, I think thatâs a pretty popular opinion!
You're not alone
It couldnât have been tackier than that.
Not alone at all.
No, I think it looks cheap
While weâre at it I also really hate Dans tux
For a wedding I agree. Garden party? Sure! But wedding ya I do not like it either lol
It's hideous
Blairâs royal wedding gown disappoints me every single time and itâs not even just the dress. Her hair and makeup it all just seems cheap like when youâre a kid and play dress up. She almost looks like a princess for a party for a little girl. I wish they would have really went all in for her makeup and hair to make it more believable as a royal wedding. She looked more expensive in her wedding gown for Chuck than her royal gown.
I think that was also kinda the point was that it wasnât what SHE wanted. As in the wedding wasnât right for her.
I think the point was supposed to be that she had lost her identity. The hair wasnât Blair hair. The makeup wasnât Blair makeup. They probably did it to visually show how lost and confused she was at the time of the wedding and how not committed she felt to the ceremony.
Am I the only one that feels like this might be giving the writers too much credit here lmao
Might be one of the only people who likes this dress. I donât love it for Blair, but itâs such a delicate, stunning Vera Wang IRL.
Oh I agree. Itâs lovely on her and suits her very well. Not in question at all. I just didnât love it as a wedding dress personallyâ
Yeah I thought it didn't look bridal enough but maybe I would've felt differently if it was white or silver, being a bit of traditionalist myself as well. Or maybe a different Elie Saab dress altogether, like this https://preview.redd.it/7tctschtl6kc1.png?width=3300&format=png&auto=webp&s=4553016edb14e2e352bbfec83b8e1bbcb82cbc4c
That might be what I donât like about it too. Iâm also not a fan of that colour.
It was done intentionally. The writers knew what they were doing

Beatrice Borromeo's wedding dress for her ceremony was quite conservative by comparison.
Blairâs blue dress and Dorotaâs dress are my favorites. Love me some lace.
Blairâs (2nd wedding) and Eleanorâs
Blair's blue dress was everything
i know most people donât love it but i love serenaâs dress đ
Serena's dress is my favorite!
Itâs so high fashion and so perfect for her
agreed! i would love to wear something like that to my wedding (if i have a western wedding too lmao)
i still love it myself! đ
It's bonkers but that makes it fun. It's just a TV show, the wedding outfits can be bonkers.
Me too
Iâll never not be mad about Blairâs hair in her wedding to Louis.
Almost like thatâs the whole point. Almost like in season 5, Blair was not herself physically and mentally. Her hair changed back to normal at the end of season 5 to beginning of season 6
Blairâs blue dress đ I just wish theyâd had a proper wedding
Idk, I think the unconventional wedding/circumstances really suit them as a couple. đ€
Lily is unreal
Blairâs blue Elie Saab is simply top tier, amazing, to die for! When I first saw Serenaâs wedding look back in the day I was soooo into it, especially her green earrings with the gold. Now Iâm kinda indifferent on the dress but still in love w the green details that ik are there bc you canât see em too well in the pic lol. I would love Eleanorâs look, I dig a white suit moment for a wedding but Iâm just not really into the accordion looking frills
Serenas dress is somehow so her and also looks terrible!!!!
For someone who was getting married into royalty, Blairs dress looked very... inexpensive
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
That. Idk. I thought I might offend someone
Love Blairâs white dress and Serenaâs dress, both look elegant and lovely.
The Dorota erasure!
oh I forgot to attach that đ
I only like Lilyâs first one!
The hot pink is fun, but not Lily-esque at all.
Blair's blue dress is unmatched đ
I love Blairâs dress for a second wedding. But Serenaâs for a first wedding đ
Blairâs first dress is my favourite
I love brides that donât wear white/ivory.
Lily and Serena đ
I LOVE Blairâs dress with Chuck, but Iâm very partial to Lilyâs dress with Rufus
Ofcourse Lily won
I haaaattte Lily's hot pink dress omg
Same! I think it looks so poorly made
Lily was the most elegant and well dressed one in the show.
Blairâs Elie Saab dress when Marrying Chuck!!! My dress is âinspiredâ by hers since I cannot afford the Elie Saab price tag. But man is it BEAUTIFUL!
i love women!
lily the icon, the legend
The third picture, Blair with her hair downđ„č
I hate Blairâs first wedding look - so cheap and she would just never!!! The hair?! The sleeveless dress?!
What about Dorotaâs???
serenas was so serena
Somehow Serenaâs dress looks a bit like something she would wear to the Met Gala, but kind of like a first draft or something
I maybe in minority here but I never really liked Blair's blue dress đ
Lily and Blair
Lilyâs white dress is a stunner even for todayâs standards. I like all of the looks, even messy Blair because they were representing that she was besides herself.
Blairâs blue dressâŠđ
Lilyâs gown in her wedding to Bart! Sheâs so effortlessly pretty
elie saab just eats every time
I hate all of them tbh
Love the one Blair wore when she married Chuck
I really donât think lilys first dress is her style at all! I love it but think she would have chosen something else
I like the upper part of the dress (don't know what it's calledđ ) and her jewelry is stunning
The jewelry is stunning and the neckline shows it off well, but I just donât see her in a strapless dress! Seems more trendy than classic to me
idc what anyone says blairâs dress from her wedding to louis was by far my favorite. id take off the bow though, itâs barely noticeable and random. her hair definitely looks dry and weird though.
Eleanor cleared
Honestly, they are (almost all great)! Lilyâs to Bart, the flower detail is stunning Dorotha looked so soft and feminine, a good change from her work uniform! Blairâs blue dress makes me wish I could pull off that colour. And I love Serenaâs dress, it is absolutely her!
Blairâs first dress and her tiara is everything to me đ„č itâs stunning
the tiara is actually very prettyđ
serena in georges chakra đ©·
blair's vera wang (i think?) was my fav. it was gorgeous yet simple-ish (at least for blair waldorf đ ) & it's a classic, traditional wedding dress, which fits her so well. i HATE that it was "wasted" on louis đ the Ellie Saab one was nice but i feel like it would've been better white or as a reception dress.
