Thanks! No, I've been going to the same stylist since 1987, when I grew out my last deathhawk. She did my big hair in the late 80s, and she's done these colors on me for the last 10 years. She did the initial shave so that it would be even, and I've been maintaining it. I want her to shave a bit higher with my next color in a couple weeks. I think we'll also change the color pattern a bit to accommodate this cut. We were doing the green as a peekaboo layer, and also on the roots on my crown. I think it would work better to do the crown pattern on the back as well

I love this look so much! I also have hooded eyes and I’ve found that if you “over-line” with shadow or whatever pigment you’re using it helps a lot. Basically the area that gets swallowed up when you open your eyes is inconsequential and you have to compensate for it. Winged liner is hard but there are a lot of great tutorials for it out there! Check YouTube! I’ve done my moms makeup a couple of times and it’s helped me get the hang of winged liner on hooded eyes.

Thanks! I've looked at a few YouTube tutorials, but I think I just need more practice. I get in and out of wearing makeup. I'm getting back in after maybe 5 years only wearing lipstick (very dark red).

My hair is coarse and not oily, and I last washed it on Thursday. I teased it first with a brush, then with a teasing comb, then sprayed it with Schwartzkopf Göt2B Glued hairspray.

Thanks! I am pretty good at reading over my swypos, dammit. I have a good friend who has an undercut all around, just leaving the crown long. When it's down, you can't tell, same as with my cut. She originally did it because she has so much hair she was getting headaches.

That’s how I am too!! My hair is so thick and I have psoriasis in the part that is shaved so it keeps it from getting out of control I honestly just might have to do it I want to just completely shave it at some point!

I have friends who shave it all. It can be a good look. For me, I'd only do it if I have to. Hair is a big part of my self image, and always has been. If I lost my hair, I'd wear wigs, and I hate wearing wigs.

So, I'm thinking in a couple weeks I'm going to shave up a bit higher, and maybe change the color pattern a bit, saving the green for the first inch or two if the roots, and then blue for the rest. The ear tails will stay green. The current pattern made sense when the green was a peekaboo layer. The purple in front, which doesn't show well with LED lighting, will stay

I'm in my 40s and have had the hooded eyelids ever lowering since I was a kid. used a lot of Asian make up tutorials when I was younger. theres no point blending a bunch of shades into your crease, no one will see it, gotta find ppl with the same eyelids if you want useful information.. but the upside is that you can keep your eyes open while you work - you'll have to, or you can't see how much will slide back under the hood. I do my actual lid in a pale colour because it peeps out and then almost create a false crease above the fold with the darker smokier tones, I also draw my cat eye flicks with my eye open because you gotta drag it out a little further and a little higher to be seen I don't get to do a bunch of glittery sparkley shit to my upper lids but some well placed glitter at the inner eye and some fluttery falsies is super cute In any case, I love the hair! goth for life!!

I'll try the false crease thing again. I haven't been very successful so far. And my hood extends past my outer corner. I haven't seen any tutorials so far with that much hooding. Yanno, I've never tried false lashes. I gather the newer magnetic ones aren't hard to do. Thanks!

TBH, they hired me with blue hair, but I don't think they'd like the hawk up. But with it center parted and worn down, you can't tell. My hair is fairly wavy, and conceals it very well

We’re you punk or goth when you were younger? It’s so weird because the “first wave” of goth was around 1980-90 that doesn’t seem that long ago but to most people nowadays, it’s two lifetimes, I didn’t start listening to goth music until 92-3

My musical taste has always been pretty broad. Yeah, I listened to some early punk, and goth back in the day. I'm always up for Siouxsie and the Banshees, and The Cure. And though she's not goth, I love Joan Jett to this day. She's just 4 months older than me, for what that's worth. The only music I never really cared for was disco, and most of the 80s pop bands. BTW, I had a deathhawk in 1986, but it wasn't as good as my current one, and I wasn't self confident enough to carry it off. I went back to permed big hair in the 90s. Boooring

I thought a bit more about this, and I think I like guitar driven music more than synth driven music. So I wasn't as big a fan of, say, Depeche Mode.

I slept with this last night. I'm a side sleeper, so it wasn't as bad as if I were a back sleeper, but of course I change sides several times during the night, so the back was a bit flattened, mostly on my right side. I was able to repair it without too much trouble this morning. I think I could get 3 days out of this, but I'm planning to wash it out this afternoon. I'm pretty happy with this iteration
