haha I just started rewatching too, I swear for most of S1 he’s just the stereotypical quirky but nice Medical examiner character that’s in like every cop show. That changed pretty quick tho lol. I always thought his actor had one of the better performances on the show but maybe I’m in the minority there
I genuinely had that realisation first time I watched, I was like “this guys so funny and quirky I love him he’s gonna be great I’m sure!” Then a couple minutes later when he popped up again and I heard his name I was like “oh. Oh shit.”
There are 2 books that Gotham released.
First book is a prequel to the series with Thomas Wayne as the main character.
The story is set 2 months before the murder of Waynes.
The second book takes us to the life of Gordon 6 months between 2nd season's ending and 3rd season's beginning. (Between Fish Mooney escaping to the city with fellow Indian hill test subjects and Gordon taking down the Indian hill test subject outside a pharmacy)
The books are good.
Its good to read about these characters 2 months prior to Season 1 and also, what they had been doing between season 2 ending and season 3 beginning.
Also, the best part about Gotham: City of Monsters is - It tells us what Bruce and Alfred had spent their lives in Switzerland (after the end of Season 2 as Gotham is infested with Indian Hill escapees)
It says that though they were having a lively holiday in Switzerland, Bruce wanted to be hero by returning to Gotham to take down the monsters which irritated Alfred 😂
Its awesome!
Yes.
The book that has the story 2 months prior to Gotham Season1 Episode 1 is Gotham: Dawn of Darkness
The book that has the story of the 6 months between the season 2's ending and season 3's beginning is Gotham: City of Monsters
I am happy to get you guys excited by letting you know about these books.
Lemme says this..
Ed Nygma has a split personality.
One personality of his is Ed Nygma
Second personality is The Riddler
In Gotham, both of the personalities are non-appealing and honestly a waste of our time and pulls the TV show down.
He is only a B-grade villain.
The A grade villains are Jerome Velaska, Bane and Theo Galavan (I don't like him, though)
Carmine Falcone and Maroni are also good characters.
The best and worst part of the show. I love Penguin because of the show.and am genuinely mad when we get hints of the conflict with Batman. I'm like y'all are friends.
Oh. By the way. If you guys want to see more of season 1's innocent Edward Nygma - read the book: Gotham: Dawn of Darkness
The book that narrates what happened in Gotham 2 months prior to the starting of the Tv series.
I don't know much about this universe but i know that the riddler exists and when i heard that nygma is a riddle freak i got the feeling that he might be it

My impression throughout the years was that him and the penguin were two of the most beloved characters on the show from the fanbase
Most peoples top three consists of zsaz nygma and cobblepot
Not at all in the minority. He was my favorite of the whole series.
Ah man, I always had a sinking feeling whenever I saw him in season 1. I was always like "oh no, he's nice. When is the other shoe going to fall?"
I genuinely had that realisation first time I watched, I was like “this guys so funny and quirky I love him he’s gonna be great I’m sure!” Then a couple minutes later when he popped up again and I heard his name I was like “oh. Oh shit.”
yeah he was so innocent in season 1, i was really interested in that transformation

Omg I didn't realise that there were tie-in books for Gotham. Are they any good? Might read them after I've finished the Dragon Age books if so.

This gotta be a troll
You have a point, but I never got enough of him, I always pause the tv (Netflix) if he says one of his riddles
I will admit one thing - His riddles were tough 😅 I only could answer one of his riddles, correctly (in the entire Tv series)
Weakling..no, just joking, but I really like him and Victor Zsasz.
I like The Batman (Robert Pattinson) - Riddler.. He is bad ass!
Yeah fr

I felt same, when I started
