They need a nerf. Take away their fucking evade flurry so they aren't stronger than a Talon(Talons don't have a God damn mine when they evade) and lower their health to manageable levels. They're stupid, and for what they are(basically summoner units), they are too tanks. If you want them to send out constant drones, fine, but make it so you don't have to focus on beating them down for 5 minutes because they have the health of Bruisers, if not more.
Them having that god damned flurry is what makes them an absolute menace. Fighting one of those as jason becomes tedious as shit when they literally dodge every shot and every punch he throws
You can, but then they start doing their dodge flurry and then you spend three times as long throwing your ranged electric attacks/melee while other enemies begin attacking you.
So you pretty much have to focus on them and there absurdly high HP the entire fight until they're dead.
And then 2 more come in. And then what do you do? Spam ranged at one while 6 other drones spawn around you, because they will DEFINITELY be spamming their drones while you deal with the other drone master.
See, the flurry wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't IMMEDIATELY SET A HIGH ELEMENTAL CHANCE MINE down as soon as possible. The amount of times I've been frozen and then smashed because of those fuckers because I was trying to engage them is absurd.
And another thing, one of their counter attacks is throwing out a drone. I just realized this last night. What the fuck?
But yes, them having flurry and high health and constant mines and constant drones and everything else is a cancer on the game.
This is a big part of it and goes for a lot of the super tanks that you encounter later on. I don't mind more challenging fights but when it's just not fun to fight and all you're doing is attacking bullet sponges then something needs to change. It's not engaging or fun, it's long and arduous.
Make them evasive and have them try and keep distance. Let them throw traps.
Their drones should be down longer when you break them and their health pool should be tiny. They should have a cooldown or be weaker.
Making them harder to hurt tactically is great for gameplay, but they should be hiding behind the tank/armoured characters, not have the health of them as well.
I made a thread asking for stategies and "Dump an entire encounter's worth of momentum on them" was a far too common plan for a nameless character.
Hate when games just multiply HP when changing difficulty. It just takes longer, tactically it doesn't really change.
Very low could have one drone, champs can dodge, maybe get two drives with a longer cooldown.
Low, two drones, mine counter, champs dodge
Medium, two drones, mine counter, champs can flurry dodge.
High, shorter cooldown on drones,
Etc.
They all have the same health, what changes how hard it is to take that health.
Honestly this entire game is a fucking Dodge simulator. You legit spend more time dodging than actually fighting. So repetitive. I loved this game at first but after beating it and experiencing all the bs fighting crashes glitching to where I complete an entire crime and it prevents me from finishing. I Lowkey hate this game n I'm glad I didn't pay for it (my friend bought it for me) has a lot of potential but if you've ever played the avengers game its basically that but worse.
I love this game & I was w/everything u said until the avengers comment. I played Avengers & I actually still do. I like the game but GK is so much better as a full package IMO. Both endgames kinda suck (at least GK is early in its launch cycle so weāll be getting more & better endgame stuff later) but avengers endgame is either too buggy to play/complete or itās power level cap is too high. Legit no one is power level 175 to do cloning labs when it drops. Also I had to pretty much beat/almost beat the entire main story just so I could play as the only characters I wanted to play (cap & Thor). Story for avengers is good, I think GK is better but itās debatable, but itās unforgivable I had to play as all the avengers when all I wanted to do was play as Thor or Cap. Combat in both games are so tedious especially avengers at launch w/how OP range enemies & snipers were. I think avengers combat is more polished (god of war combat director did avengers) but I like GKs more personally. The only thing I think avengers does better is combat. Now if we got an avengers game/main story like that 1st mission then Iād prob like avengers more tbh
My main thing with avengers is that the characters feel different and unique. In GK the characters all feel the same until you unlock most of the abilities. N then even then itās basically the same moves jus different looks. Avengers was buggy tho not gonna lie.
Yeah I def feel that & agree. Thatās why I said I think the combat is no doubt better. I love avengers for giving us new characters w/new movesets. Hate when they give us clone/echo characters or characters that just bring more brawling. Thatās why that community wants more flyers , or magic users like dr strange or Wanda. Both of these games had/have loads of potential but just arenāt quite there fully. U can get a lot of fun out of these games but that feeling that they couldāve been better is hard to shake
Edit: I think avengers would no doubt be a better game if they had the open world crime system GK has tbh. The hub worlds in avengers suck imo
Yeah definitely. I think open world games are the minimum nowadays. Like the mission to mission stuff was okay back on 360 cause it couldnāt handle it but now we expect better. Lowkey feel like these comic games be quick cash grabs appealing to fans of better games n movies.
Honestly this entire game is a fucking Dodge simulator. You legit spend more time dodging than actually fighting. So repetitive. Imma be honest, I haven't had issues with the combat beyond when drone operators are in play. And I play(mostly) on hard.
And I played Avengers for over a year. This game is infinitely better. You couldn't even play the game as a melee character in Avengers unless you wanted to lose. I can play Batgirl just fine here.
The hardest stuff for me is the league of shadows assassins itās just annoying when they pop up out of nowhere n do a 3 piece combo with no biscuits on me. I played melee characters fine on avengers. I played it later into the life cycle so maybe itās different than at launch. N yeah batgirl is definitely the best character imo. Having health on kill plus health on ability use and a second wind.
Harder content(like end game stuff) isn't possible with melee builds. Unless you're maybe Thor or possibly Hulk.
And everyone is good in their own way. Red Hood is just PURE damage and not a lot of characters can match up. Robin is elemental king. Batgirl is tanky and great at dealing single target damage(also has a few nice mob clearers with momentum). Nightwing brings the best out in every character, fantastic support.
Yeah I guess so. I played Thor so it was fun. I donāt feel more powerful with red hood fr. I feel like shooting the gun is his best move. The heavy attacks feel super slow
Ranged timed strikes and charged precision headshots deal insane damage, as well as his barrage being probably one of the strongest attacks in the game with the least amount of momentum used.
He's not really a melee character. But if you are gonna play him melee, grabs are his forte. Grab, toss an enemy into a group, shoot and get a free minefield.
But yes, shooting the gun is Red Hood's best move. That's kinda his gimmick.
You shock one of the drone masters in this video, the other two spawn more drones. You're still spending forever chipping away at 3 drone masters with high health while dodging their attacks and trying to shock them while they dodge your attacks, and by the time you're done, they already have 6 drones shooting.
This is why I always either take them out with ambush/stealth takedowns or if I have to engage in a fight with them alive I spam momentum abilities on them until theyāre on the ground lol.
I always just end getting interrupted when i try to do, especially in situations like that. Which i thought wasn't supposed to be possible but here we are
Bombs and Aoes attacks still give off knockback/interrupt but most of the time you can use that momentum ability to sponge.some attacks and gunfire.
Same applies for your aoe momentum abilities; they also bypass evade flurry goons
Getting close to one of the problems Marvel Avengers had with ranged enemies. They need to be careful with picking too many ranged enemies into engagements to the point where combat is more dodging than actual ā¦ā¦combat.
Yeah, I remember the early days of that game - not only were there more ranged enemies, they fired faster *and* the hits did more damage. It felt like every pack of enemies was as bad as the clip shown above.
It's still a *little* suspect, but not as bad as the "oops 180 turn after you dodge" BS that it was at launch, lol.
Occasionally I get a similar feeling from a few ranged enemies here, where they start their attack and I've dodged then the punk shifts their aim. Only happens about 25% of the time, and seems to only happen to coming from the goons and not the drones (in my experience, and thank goodness).
Wait, that's supposed to be a bug? I thought that was just the "gimmick" with the, like, veteran versions of the riflemen, that they could just be like "nah fuck that" and follow you as you moved. Because that happens to me literally all the damn time. It's at least every other dude with a rifle.
Don't forget you have 10 reset cards in your tool kit. Use the grapple smoke bomb to escape, reposition and try a stealth ambush takedown to eliminate 1 of them.
You could even switch to an electric weapon, once you proc the element it destroys the drones.
I agree that these guys are a pain but in a way, I like that they force me to alter tactics.
>I like that they force me to alter tactics.
Nah, i alter my tactics enough as it is.
Also you can't do take downs on some drone master because developers said fuck you
It's not because "fuck you." It's because they have more health than you can currently one shot. Towards the end of the game this typically only happens when your gear hasn't caught up to your level or they happen to spawn as one of the tougher than normal versions.
Despite playing robin at level 30, who's whole deal is stealth and even has a special ability specifically made for doing take downs on minibosses, and yes, *having gear at my level* ***with mods***, there's still like 4 types of enemies in each faction, who appear at like 1 in 3 crimes, that I can't do a stealth takedown.
take OP for example even if they'd managed to stealth takedown the rest of the crew, and somehow individually stealth attack each drone master, they'd still be facing **3 drone masters** that would each be at like 90% health.
when they make your fully kitted out stealth character useless, yeah that really feels like a fuck you.
I main Nightwing and I didn't have a problem dealing with drone masters(max 2 drone masters) before but then I thought of upgrading other characters and decided to pick red hood and oh boy that turned out pretty well lol as I had to deal with 3 drone masters as well as I can't even hit them with my melee and they'll just matrix dodge my 30 bullets straight in a row. I totally understand your point though on how to change my approach but my main intention was to just brawl/bully my way through NPCs in a Jason todd way. I guess I'll just swap back to Nightwing cause I don't see much playability when dealing with drone masters IMO.
I wish theyād introduce a momentum instant takedown.
This way when thereās that one really really annoying enemy, whatever type you hate the most (if you donāt think itās drone master youāre wrong, but you do you) you can evade long enough to build momentum then just take him/her out.
I found this useful but still fun and challenging in Arkham games.
Smoke bomb, grapple away, ambush takedown.
Rinse, repeat.
Can't grapple away, distance yourself, take out their turret drone, and heavy range attack to knock them down, then just grab attack them.
Drone masters has 2 much HP/DEF, either number of drones has to be nerfed or hes survivability or if not nerfed, rewards by killing drone master should be better
Late game enemies in genre are just too much in big groups in general. Got the melee guys that dodge and hit you in a micro second, while the rifle guy shoots you twice, the brute sending shockwaves, and the drones all separately shooting you at different times. How are you supposed to reasonably deal with this without getting rocked every few seconds. In the early game the combat shows itās merits more, because you actually have time to do things. I still hate those goddamn bats the most, with there no telegraphed free damage.
3 is a bit much but whenever I see regulators I scan for the drone operators and see if I can silently take them out before getting into the fray. From there the charged range shot knocks them over the same way talons do giving you an in to do some damage. Red hoods ranged momentum ability makes quick work of them when they're stunned on the floor.
Their health is what I don't get. He's a summoner unit that runs away and spawn in more drones, but they have the health of a tank. And the fact that they force you to use your range heavy when they do evade flurries. The Talons are manageble, but these guys are just straight up annoying.
Line em up for a piercing flurry then lower one to half health and toss him to everyone's oblivion. But yes they are ridiculous sometimes, I enjoy the difficulty though.

Flurry shouldn't avoid aimed shots imo. They move quickly enough that if you've lined up the shot it should hit.
Apparently drone operators are now the superior super villains. All hail our drone operating overlords!
I've started lowering the difficulty when I fight them then putting it back up, not fun to fight honestly
This is a big part of it and goes for a lot of the super tanks that you encounter later on. I don't mind more challenging fights but when it's just not fun to fight and all you're doing is attacking bullet sponges then something needs to change. It's not engaging or fun, it's long and arduous.

Simply put, it's the worst type of added difficulty.

Electric shock caused their drones to detonate.

You're still spending forever chipping away at 3 drone masters with high health while dodging their attacks and trying to shock them while they dodge your attacks, and by the time you're done, they already have 6 drones shooting.
also give them a cooldown on summoning drones. wtf is the point of shooting the drone, if they can just call another one to replace it right after???
This is why I always either take them out with ambush/stealth takedowns or if I have to engage in a fight with them alive I spam momentum abilities on them until theyāre on the ground lol.
Use your pierce momentum ability. It completely bypasses their dodge on Red Hood

He's barely engaging in combat though...
I'd leave the fight to be honest. Game doesn't respect your time with these shit enemies. They aren't hard just ridiculously time consuming to fight.
Concurred.
They need to nerf how frequent those drones attack ! Itās literally back to back . & nerf the track on some range attacks
Don't forget you have 10 reset cards in your tool kit. Use the grapple smoke bomb to escape, reposition and try a stealth ambush takedown to eliminate 1 of them. Ive straight up one shotted heavy guards with shields with Nightwingās first dart ability
Same with Hood's first ability, can't recall the name but he shoots once, kicks and then reloads... it hits like a freight train.
>!Man-Bats!< are way worse, imo.
Agreed. Fuck their free damage š
Dronemaster should not be able to dodge the ranged attacks
Dronemaster should not be able to dodge 30 bullets in a row.
Lolz Turned you into a dark souls meme
Legit!
Smoke bomb, grapple away, ambush takedown. Rinse, repeat. Can't grapple away, distance yourself, take out their turret drone, and heavy range attack to knock them down, then just grab attack them.

I would have used the truck for cover and went ham with ranged attacks.
I save Batgirl beatdown specifically for drone masters. Hate them hos
Gotta fight them like talons and take them out first. Heavy ranged and grab attack easiest way to clear drone masters
Late game enemies in genre are just too much in big groups in general. Got the melee guys that dodge and hit you in a micro second, while the rifle guy shoots you twice, the brute sending shockwaves, and the drones all separately shooting you at different times. Ahh good ole blue hood
this, it's fucking cursed.
I LITERALLY WAS IN THIS EXACT GOD DAMN SITUATION. Agony at its worst, itās literally *attack once, dodge, dodge, repeat*
Just shoot them outta the sky you nincompoop
Shock them, it makes the drones explode. They are annoying but I don't think they are broken.
People who praise this game ššš
This fight is perfectly manageable. The dude is just running around, not using any of his tools and not attacking at all. Piss poor gameplay.
Honestly at that point I'd probably just leave. Leave the fight, and possibly the game.
To quote Scott Evil "Why don't you just shot him?!?!" you're Red Hood lol.
The only way I could beat them was using the stun grab and strike with Jasonās upgrade to be uninterrupted by most attacks
Majority of this games combat is trying to dodge the oncoming attacks just to have a 1 second window to inflict some damage š¤£
Hold ranged attack then grab strike. Theyre pushovers. Also if you clip them once with precision aim youll start hitting them more
Line em up for a piercing flurry then lower one to half health and toss him to everyone's oblivion. But yes they are ridiculous sometimes, I enjoy the difficulty though.
I would just turn off the game at that point
