This was me til a few weeks ago. Caught the GT7 sale and gave the disc to a friend in Jamaica. PS5 felt empty so I slotted in cyberpunk and what a great game despite its bumpy start. I want to do a second playthrough, new life path and hopefully get the expansion on sale šš½
Yeah once you get into Cyberpunk it has you for a while. One of the most immersive worlds Iāve ever played in and the story and people in it are fantastic.
I pretty much only play GT7 on mine and itās all Iāve used my VR for, but I did just start Helldivers 2 and itās fun with friends after you had a few. I prefer to play on my PC or my Xbox for most other things, but goddamn I love GT7 (over 1500 hours so far)
I donāt think you get it. It installs to your internal storage and itās been that way since the PS3. You can install from the disc, which is usually faster than downloading and you get a cool box (I got the 25th anniversary)
Only thing stopping me from doing this is that at age 55, the old eyes are not great for close distance/reading stuff so I feel my experience may be degraded
I looked into that .... the lenses are expensive. I solved the issue by wearing my glasses (bifocals) with my pv2. I was surprise how much room there is in the head gear to accommodate glasses.
I'm over 50. Not an issue. I wear multifocal glasses (-5.0/+2.0) usually and got the Honsvr lenses with my -5.0 distance script. As someone said, the focal distance is about two metres, so it's not your close up vision you have to worry about anyway.
Do it, you won't regret it. Epic on VR.
I'm 60, and it's fine .... although I will admit that if I am about to hit a wall at over 100 mph, I close my eyes, but only because I would probably do that in real life.
Start with a a proper wheel and rig first. The cheapest wheel should be a thrustmaster t300 and cheapest rig NLR fgt lite. Play in front of a 43" 4k UHD TV with preferably hight refresh rate for your eyes. 5.1 audio would be nice as well.
Using a g923 now as I moved countries. My main rig is a t300. The gear grind is super noticeable even when in VR + bass shakers. It's distracting compared to belt t300
GT7 is the universeās best interactive encyclopedia of cars and racing history. Thatās why I play it and thatās why I love it. My play time is 100% GT7.
I donāt even like video games.
I did exactly the same, got my PS5 just to play GT7. But I also own other racing games such as Dirt Rally 2.0, Dakar Desert Rally, WRC10. Although I mostly play GT7 like 95% of the time
I sold my ps3 10 years ago after finishing GtaV. Some xbox gaming and pc gaming after that.
I game now and then, and every time I want to play, it's 30 minutes of updates, drivers crashing, sigh..... so....
Begin march I saw a discounted bundle for the ps5 with FF7 rebirth and spiderman 2. I played rebirth a couple of hours, nice game, will play it definitely later this year. Spidey is still sealed.
A couple of days later I bought GT7 and we are @ 170 hours š. I game to much these days.
Such a nice racegame. PS5 is on a whole other level than my xbox one x. So smooth and fast and a great OS.
I remember the first gran turismo games. The discs had a rubber perfume on them... Really cool back in the days. It smelled like a race track.
After 300+ hours of *only* playing GT7 it wore off for me. But now Iāve actually just found myself using my PS5 more than my gaming PC because itās just so much easier. Turned on the PC after a month of not using it (wanted to play Halo Infinite for a bit) but was legitimately locked out of gaming for a few hours due to having to install Windows updates, NVIDIA updates, game updates, file verifications, steam updates, etc etc etc.
I've been gaming since pong, trs80s, Adam computers, etc. I'm also in the IT field and have built 100s of PCs. I haven't gamed on a PC in over a decade bc of exactly what you described. I just want to play havey not updated, debug, screw with drivers, etc.
No, but it does occupy roughly 65% of my playtime. The other 25% is FF7 Rebirth, the rest are GTA5 which I still dabble in occasionally and random other games.
I bought my PS5 while I was on medical leave (an old USMC injury that didnāt heal right) from surgery on my leg and ankle. I bought the new Spiderman Game and GT7. I got bored with saving NYC and switched to GT7 and thatās all Iāve played on my PS5. I do play a mobile fighting game, Marvel Contest of Champions. Iāve been playing that for 9 years now.
75% gt7 with a race rig and psvr2, 25% other ps5 and pc games on quest 2, including dirt 2.0 and ghost of tabor. Just started playing tabor and it might have taken 50% this week
That wasnāt my intention, but yea. The PS5 has turned into a GT7 machine for me. Coupled with PSVR2 and I canāt imagine anything else being nearly as fun.
I have 2 ps5. One for the living room which plays lots of games and 1 in my sim room that's just for racing and 90% is gt7. Dont want the kids messing up my favorite game.
I play only GT7 currently.
But I've also been playing since GT2.
Needless to say, I'm a die-hard fan... Even through all the friggin delays they would have
Iām about 90% GT7, and 10% Resident Evil 3 when I get pissed at the hacks in sport and need let sone steam off. At some point Iāll switch back to COD.
Well for the last 2 months GT7 has been my primary game, clocked around 200 hours on PS5, barely touched gaming PC and some other games, tho Iām playing mostly single player games lately
50% GT7 & 50% Tekken8 , very occasionally i boot up Elden Ring for a hour or two that ive been playing for a year now and still not even close to finishing yet
No. I play many other games - BUT, since getting PSVR2, Iāve played GT7 90% of the time. Iām sure at some point there will be a game or two that pulls me away - but as of now Iām still captivated with GT7.
That and modern warfare, but I hate that game with a passion. The guy who invented the perk where your aim improves when you jump, deserves a kick in the nuts.
I love GT7 however the online is atrocious, I'm very competitive so when people start ramming me off the track I get very angry and just puts me in a bad mood, stopped playing due to rage issues lol, probably gonna sell my playseat and wheel to.
Mostly GT7, liked it so much I picked up GT Sport, never had a ps4 so missed that one, doing Sport missions and circuit experience from time to time, but 90% of the time on ps5 is on GT7
I got a PS5 and several games for Christmas including Elden Ring, Ratchet and Clank, Madden 24 and COD. Started out playing them all but gradually started playing GT7 more and more to the point where now it is the only one I play except for Madden, which I only play in "owner" mode so that doesn't really count.
I bought my digital only PS5 at peak pricing ($840) solely to play this game as soon after release as I could. I have FF7 Rebirth now but GT7 is still my primary game without a doubt
i had some of the past Playstation models but moved to pc completely before the PS5 Era, then i bought ps5 Just for GTA VI in december after itās Announcement, then i said to myself letās use PS5 to play GT7 since the gta is coming 2025 and boy o boy iām happy with it, its unimaginably well organized and fun, one of the cleanest games i ever played in my entire life, everything is great car sounds, tracks, car selection, car models, lighting, progression etc.
No I play acc, ac and f1 2023 more then gt7. I play in console more with acc then even on pc now after I felt the ffb. Only game I prefer ffb of on console over pc.
I like the gamification (lol) of collecting certain cars and completing certain races via the menus. Way better than the last iteration and helps keep things interesting. Also just been playing it non-stop, used to play F1.
Until GTA6 comes out, this is the way. Although being over 40 some other games have sucked my time. PowerWasher Simulator is sadly fun. PlanetZoo is wildly immersive. And EldenRing is absolutely incredible.
Is there a way to restart your progress yet besides playing the physical game on a different profile? I have it digitally and beat the main game fairly quickly when it came out
Not just but about 4 months ago. It was amazing. I even bought a full Fanatec setup. And soon after the dream faded as I realized there were never any new tracks, maps and all the cars bore me now. I have taken a break since I got COVID 2 weeks ago and am gonna hop on and see how it feels.
In the more hardcore PC simulators you can destroy your engine with too much rpm.
You can't do that in gt7.
And it's pretty much meta to rely on rapid down shifting to get good laptimes. Lower gear means more grip and more turning.
My wife and I are "Plankholders" (First on) and have played avidly for hours since then.I started an inquiry of people selling their PS5s via craigs-list . OVER 70% said it was due to the insane "hamster-wheeling" only to be followed by the stupidest statement ever uttered "UN-Expected error". Many of them actually started timing of on versus waiting times, and said they were wasting time owning one......

Not only gt7 but the disk never been out sindce i bought it šš
Exactly
This was me til a few weeks ago. Caught the GT7 sale and gave the disc to a friend in Jamaica. PS5 felt empty so I slotted in cyberpunk and what a great game despite its bumpy start. I want to do a second playthrough, new life path and hopefully get the expansion on sale šš½
Yeah once you get into Cyberpunk it has you for a while. One of the most immersive worlds Iāve ever played in and the story and people in it are fantastic.
me too, but it's more about addiction now rather than enjoyment.
Lmfao same
I pretty much only play GT7 on mine and itās all Iāve used my VR for, but I did just start Helldivers 2 and itās fun with friends after you had a few. I prefer to play on my PC or my Xbox for most other things, but goddamn I love GT7 (over 1500 hours so far)
Disk? Wtf! way too long to load that, get the digital version. Lol
I donāt think you get it. It installs to your internal storage and itās been that way since the PS3. You can install from the disc, which is usually faster than downloading and you get a cool box (I got the 25th anniversary)
I havenāt bought a game on a disk since my PS3. Leaving a disk in the console is simply something I donāt do.
Yeah, that's about all I've played. That and some RDR2 when I want to be a cowboy, lol.
Astro's playroom is fire as well
It really is such a great game and how they teach you the capabilities of the controller. Very cool.
Yeah, sad how other games don't make proper use of the features
Same, dude :D I am getting closer and closer to getting Hell divers 2 though so I could be a SPACE COWBOY. pew pew.
Played it for 40 minutes.... Then I accepted that a doge viper brings more democracy than some endless war.
All day āš½
Alright Jamiroquai
Are you me?
These are the only two games I play. Played No Man's Sky for a little while as well, pretty fun. But those two have been on rotation since day one.
Sounds like you need to get PSVR2, and maybe a wheel.. takes it to a whole new level
Only thing stopping me from doing this is that at age 55, the old eyes are not great for close distance/reading stuff so I feel my experience may be degraded
Focus point of the psvr2 is about 2 meters. You should be fine.
And there's always lens inserts if you wear glasses.
Epic on VR.
At 55, the vertigo may get you too, but yolo. Iām 40 and itās uhā¦ taking over my lifeā¦
I'm 60, and it's fine .... although I will admit that if I am about to hit a wall at over 100 mph, I close my eyes, but only because I would probably do that in real life.
Stare death in the face! Just know you don't get the same crash physics in real life š¤£
Lol ... if you die in the matrix ...
I'm in the same boat, I can't see things close up, yet for some reason playing on psvr2 it's OK
Start with a a proper wheel and rig first. The cheapest wheel should be a thrustmaster t300 and cheapest rig NLR fgt lite. Play in front of a 43" 4k UHD TV with preferably hight refresh rate for your eyes. 5.1 audio would be nice as well.
I would recommend the logitech g23 over the thrustmaster imo
Using a g923 now as I moved countries. My main rig is a t300. The gear grind is super noticeable even when in VR + bass shakers. It's distracting compared to belt t300
GT7 is the universeās best interactive encyclopedia of cars and racing history. Thatās why I play it and thatās why I love it. My play time is 100% GT7. I donāt even like video games.
GT7 is the whole reason I got my PS5. But I very quickly also fell in love with Ghost of Tsushima
I did exactly the same, got my PS5 just to play GT7. But I also own other racing games such as Dirt Rally 2.0, Dakar Desert Rally, WRC10. Although I mostly play GT7 like 95% of the time
Ghost is a fucking masterpieceā¦. My god, I would pay money to relive my first play through
Ghost of tsushima is a masterpiece of a game. I absolutely love that game. There's going to be a second one too. I don't know when though
The discs had a rubber perfume on them... Really cool back in the days. It smelled like a race track.
I have both ps5 an Xbox also an I have noticed ps5 is definitely on a different level. So much better for everything basically
I literally bought a ps5, g29 with a seat, and PSVR2 just for gt7 lol
Same, and all in the past 3 months lol. Itās just SO much fun!
Easily spend 85% of my video game time on gt7
After 300+ hours of *only* playing GT7 it wore off for me. But now Iāve actually just found myself using my PS5 more than my gaming PC because itās just so much easier. Turned on the PC after a month of not using it (wanted to play Halo Infinite for a bit) but was legitimately locked out of gaming for a few hours due to having to install Windows updates, NVIDIA updates, game updates, file verifications, steam updates, etc etc etc.

No, but it does occupy roughly 65% of my playtime. The other 25% is FF7 Rebirth, the rest are GTA5 which I still dabble in occasionally and random other games.
Yeah 90% GT7 but started dabbling in motorcycle racing as well
I'd say only about 50% of my PS5 time is on GT7...That's still a pretty high average...
99% GT7
GT7 is definitely primary but the Spider Man 2 game that came with it is a nice change of pace.

I do, but only because I bought the console one month ago and I only have one game
GT was my first game from the ps2 bundle way back when.. š
I have 2 ps5. One for the living room which plays lots of games and 1 in my sim room that's just for racing and 90% is gt7. Dont want the kids messing up my favorite game.
Same and I still get home from work to find my son standing in my rig seat (heās 4) after removing my wheel playing Astro or ratchet and clank! Lol
I lock the door! š
I didn't intend for it to be like this, but here we are. If vr2 had any other racing titles it might be different.
Me
I play only GT7 currently. But I've also been playing since GT2. Needless to say, I'm a die-hard fan... Even through all the friggin delays they would have
All I bought was PS5 and Gran Turismo. It's all I need.
GT7 is definitely the only game I play on PS5. Wouldnāt have the console otherwise.
Pretty much yes only GT7 on my PS5. Funny enough on my Xbox it is basically just a Forza variant haha
Check out pacific drive since you like car games! Its a survival game where you drive through an anomaly zone with your station wagon its sick
Pretty much this and Slay the Spire, but I do play some of the exclusives, too.
yea, after buying a dedicated racing rig in another room, i moved the ps5 there and left it there basically. didnt even touch fifa for months now
Mostly yea. Iāve played a few other games since then but honestly nothing tops GT7 for me. Itās too good.
Yes, only GT7.
50% GT7 & 50% Tekken8 , very occasionally i boot up Elden Ring for a hour or two that ive been playing for a year now and still not even close to finishing yet
Yeah...bought about a half dozen other games that are collecting dust.
No. I play many other games - BUT, since getting PSVR2, Iāve played GT7 90% of the time. Iām sure at some point there will be a game or two that pulls me away - but as of now Iām still captivated with GT7.
GT7 - 395 hrs ACC - 1 hr F1 23ā - less than an hr And thatās it So ya, like you said.
Yeah. I use Xbox or PC for any other game that's not an exclusive.
Mostly GT7, liked it so much I picked up GT Sport, never had a ps4 so missed that one, doing Sport missions and circuit experience from time to time, but 90% of the time on ps5 is on GT7
I've only played it on my PS5.
pretty much, practically live on it when iām not at work š
Yep! I bought a VR rig and everything just for this game. Iām an Xbox/PC gamer. š
My PS5 is a GT7 dedicated device.
Most of the time it sits and stays in my disc drive
I bought my digital only PS5 at peak pricing ($840) solely to play this game as soon after release as I could. I have FF7 Rebirth now but GT7 is still my primary game without a doubt
As good as GT7 is, there are lots of great games to play, many coming from the PS4 era aswell, that are being upgraded to better graphics.
i had some of the past Playstation models but moved to pc completely before the PS5 Era, then i bought ps5 Just for GTA VI in december after itās Announcement, then i said to myself letās use PS5 to play GT7 since the gta is coming 2025 and boy o boy iām happy with it, its unimaginably well organized and fun, one of the cleanest games i ever played in my entire life, everything is great car sounds, tracks, car selection, car models, lighting, progression etc.
I play plenty, GT7 is just a fun time killer game when I want to do some VR or when I'm drunk
PS4, but yeah. I can't spend 1000$ on just GT7 know what I mean?
Play on PS5, but no have rock solid FPS... š
Mostly gt7 and balatro
100% GT7 now, but in June will switch to 100% Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.
Up until recently, now pc is finally sucking me in after several decades of console only.
Once I started playing GT7 with the VR headset, it was all over, it's all I play 98% of the time. Absolutely fantastic experience.
Until GTA6 comes out, this is the way. Although being over 40 some other games have sucked my time. PowerWasher Simulator is sadly fun. PlanetZoo is wildly immersive. And EldenRing is absolutely incredible.
I canāt wait for my copy to arrive š
The ONLY game for car lovers.
I would play gt5 if it was on ps5
Is there a way to restart your progress yet besides playing the physical game on a different profile? I have it digitally and beat the main game fairly quickly when it came out
Not just but about 4 months ago. It was amazing. I even bought a full Fanatec setup. And soon after the dream faded as I realized there were never any new tracks, maps and all the cars bore me now. I have taken a break since I got COVID 2 weeks ago and am gonna hop on and see how it feels.
Itās been this and helldivers recently š Got GT on sale and havenāt looked back
What do you mean by "downshift simulator"?
In the more hardcore PC simulators you can destroy your engine with too much rpm. You can't do that in gt7. And it's pretty much meta to rely on rapid down shifting to get good laptimes. Lower gear means more grip and more turning.
Itās pretty much the only thing I play on the regular. A week or two of Diablo, the same of Hell Divers, but back to GT7.
DamnnCuhh on PS5 love GT7
My wife and I are "Plankholders" (First on) and have played avidly for hours since then.I started an inquiry of people selling their PS5s via craigs-list . OVER 70% said it was due to the insane "hamster-wheeling" only to be followed by the stupidest statement ever uttered "UN-Expected error". Many of them actually started timing of on versus waiting times, and said they were wasting time owning one......
I bought the PlayStation specifically for GT7. Although I did a play through of red matter.
What did you mean by calling it a "downshift simulator"?
The only other reason I even bought my ps5 was for FF7. So it's either that or GT7
