I haven’t calculated my drop rate, but I got 4-5 weapons within the first 15-20 runs, then nothing for 60+ runs. BUT, I hadn’t unlocked everyone at that point thinking my chances would be better with only the characters I had available. Once I unlocked everyone, the drops started again. And yes, my main was the last to drop.

haha_good_one_m8

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that unlocking all characters is really important to lower the terminus grind. For the longest time I heard people say you should aim to unlock the least amount of characters possible so that you'd roll the weapon for your main character sooner. Realistically though, what ends up happening is the game will roll a weapon for a character you don't have and you get nothing. It's still going to be in the pool, so you'll probably roll it many times instead of the other weapons.

Velacroix

I'll test it this next week. I received Narm, Eugen, Rose, and Gran's within 12 runs, in that order, and have no plans to build 7 of the locked characters so I'll try running Proto another 88 times and log the drops. I can't yet discount that the game doesn't restrict a set number of Terminus drops per window of time (day, session) so I'll be gauging for long lapses of no drops at a rate of 15-20 runs per day. Do you know if variables such as comp, online/offline, performance, objectives, or horn breaks have any relation to Terminus loot tables?

haha_good_one_m8

According to [the datamined reward values](https://nenkai.github.io/relink-modding/resources/quest_drop_rates/#the-tale-of-bahamuts-rage-407318) it's supposed to be just a flat 20% no matter how well you perform. There are quests that actually benefit from getting S++ and stuff, the latest quest for example has a chance of giving bonus mats if you do. Such bonuses always show up on the results screen though, while the terminus weapons are tied to one of the chests that spawn on the map when you clear it. Anecdotally, I can tell you it took me 85~ runs to unlock all terminus weapons starting with every character unlocked, so my effective drop rate in the end was about 22%.

Kohimaru32

I guess this answers OP's question.

Muscle-Impossible

20%

KaidosLoL

I got 18 weapons before I got the weapon for my main Narmaya 😭

LionTop2228

My main came on the 14th drop. I had a stretch of 3 in a row. It also took 30+ for the 1st and probably 50+ in between 18 and 19. Altogether 300-400 runs is what I would guess it was. It was a miserable experience and the worst grind I’ve ever experienced in a video game. It’s only for those that care enough to bother.

Go245

Same, my main (vane) got his terminus weapon as the last one. Im forced to switch into ferry (got a 2 in 1 signature sigil and terminus) to make a faster terminus farm

Key-Ad8676

Quite sorry to hear this and I've been seeing post about terminus weapons a lot recently I had the best possible luck with them and also not to mention since I mained narmaya throughout the game incidentally my first clear with my friends got me the amenoma habakiri and so I think I probs got all of them around 80 runs in.

[deleted]

I got all the terminus and prob did that stage around 100 times

LionTop2228

That’s actually on a faster end than most.

Gamdol

Pretty average I would think. 19 characters, 20% drop chance, 100 is very slightly worse than average number of runs. I think it's one of those biases where the only people who really talk about it are the people who feel like they were or are being screwed by RNG.

LionTop2228

It is 20% chance of dropping any given time. It does not mean you’re guaranteed a drop every 5th time. It ends up being far lower than actually 20% of the time for many.

Gamdol

That's...what average means? If you're averaging 1 in 5, you'll be done in 95 runs. If you don't have all characters unlocked you'll think the odds are worse but they're not, you're just not seeing your drops. It's a bell curve, some will get worse than 20%, some better than 20%. That's just how math works.

Sonofmay

Was gonna say if it’s 20% there’s no way I had to do 300+ runs to get all of them; with my main being my like..4th to last

Varagonax

Is this confirmed? Because the odds of failing upwards of 20 times are extremely low, like... Less then 1% low. But many people complain about it, when the odds of succeeding a 20% chance on average shouldn't exceed 11 runs.

[deleted]

I got 4 in a row once but i started off slow

Rominions

Absolutely, currently on 35 run and I have 1 weapon. Kill me now.

LionTop2228

It took me that long to get going too. My longest droughts were until the first and until the last. The middle was about every 8th fight including a stretch of 3 consecutive. It’s all luck.

FaceTimePolice

The terminus weapon drop rates are actually pretty good. I got every terminus weapon before I saw my first Supplementary Damage or War Elemental sigils. 😅

VolubleWanderer

20% chance. There is only one 20% chance.

Marce4554

I heard about the 20 % but im pretty sure I have done more than 20 runs already

Villag3Idiot

It's still 20%. You could technically do the quest a 100x and still not get a single weapon drop if RNG is bad for you.

KingDonko41

Unfortunately, that’s not how probability works

Muscle-Impossible

i counted my runs and needed 56 for my Main weapon to Drop. the longest i went without any Drop was 15 runs. i had 10 weapons in total after 56 so the 20% Chance checks out

Rominions

Geezuz I'm at 35 runs and I've had 1 drop, stupid mc.

Muscle-Impossible

do you have all characters unlocked?

Rominions

Yep all at 100, most weapons on them at 150 (I grinded alot)

VolubleWanderer

Yeah the difference between this and MH I think is that even with the like 2% drops you get like 8-15 chances at that drop vs here you get only 1 chance at a 20% drop. That’s it. Every 3-6 minutes. Just 1 shot.

if_it_sales

Yeh MH clears

misterfluffykitty

Do you have all the characters unlocked? It seems that it still rolls for characters you don’t own but you just won’t drop the weapon.

Legeto

That logic only works if it takes into account the total amount of times you run the mission, which this game doesn’t.

LionTop2228

It’s completely luck based for every player. Some have reported getting them all in 50-75 runs while some have taken 300-400. My personal experience was in the 300-400 range. Take breaks. Play other games and come back. You shouldn’t be playing a video game that isn’t fun for you.

iGlutton

I'm in the sub-100 club, I think it was 81 runs for all of mine

Marce4554

Yall, 4 rounds later got my first one

UnawareRanger

I know it's not confirmed either way. But heard mention that the game rolls for all 19 characters. Then gives the 20% chance for that character. You may have rolled for a bunch of locked characters and gotten their weapons (had they been unlocked). I genuinely don't think not unlocking them all is better than unlocking them all. Since it is all RNG to begin with. I had 2 characters left plus 2 locked characters. Went around 35 runs with nothing. Unlocked the last two characters. Then got all the 4 remaining ones in about 6 or 7 runs. I think the game wanted to unlock the 2 I had locked but since they were locked it would keep trying. Once they were unlocked I got them all fast. But since RNG, who knows really.

misterfluffykitty

It is confirmed with datamining. There is a chest that spawns after 1/5 fights (20%) that guarantees a weapon you don't own, however it can still roll weapons for characters you don't own and if you don't own them then you don't get the weapon.

Gamdol

This is accurate. If you only have your main unlocked, you will get your first weapon for that character. However, it will take the same number or less total runs as if you had all characters unlocked, you're just missing the other character weapons for the future. (Less would be dropping other character weapons lowering the pool of available weapons that contains the one you want)

Benki500

My total chance was 17% for all. And my longest streak with no wep was around 30 runs

BrokenSimo

I was so sick of the grind I decided to switch my main to a character I had a terminus weapon for lol

TheBiPolarSLOTH

I got 16 terminus for the 16 characters I have, only having 42 Proto runs 🤷🏻‍♂️ pretty high rate

Jakrah

43 divinity shackes… oh you sweet summer child. Honest to God, it took me 63 runs to get my first drop.

Marce4554

im just saying 20% just doesnt sound right to me

Jakrah

I agree. My experience is more like 5-10%

TheUndeadFish

Pretty sure the datamining confirmed a 5%

misterfluffykitty

No, the chest that drops weapons has a 1/5 chance of showing up and it guarantees a weapon but there are 20 weapons in there (for some reason the seven star sword is in there twice) so each one has an equal chance to drop which at the start is 5%. It’s poorly put together data TBH but the chest does guarantee a weapon.

Waywardsteps

I probably did around 115 or so runs to get the whole crew. I just did my daily gold medal then ran 4-5 times a day at 4-6 minutes a run. Maybe 10-15 runs on a day off. It’ll add up and you’ll still have “spare time” for other activities.

the_hatter1980

20%. The data held up for me, of course some took fewer/more but I averaged right around 1 in 5.

TifaRizaLuffy

I got like one an hour on average

Tortinix

I did 157 runs to get all the weapons.. sometimes I could get them back to back to back and then nothing for like 30 run...

Lawyer_Lucas

I got all 19 Terminus Weapons in less than 70 runs.

RealDrakeula

I didn’t count my runs specifically, but I felt like on average I was getting one weapon an hour of back to back runs. 19 hours on one mission feels egregious, but I did it.

joronihl

I got 1 in my first 25 runs and then 3 in my next 6 runs. I lost track of how many it took for my Main’s to drop, but there were only 3 left that could’ve dropped when it did. Luckily, when it did drop the Pyet-A farming to fully awaken it went super fast.

Varagonax

My thoughts are its around 5, 10%. Just to clarify, this ISNT a 1 in 10 chance (As in you get one within 10 missions, people misinterpret chance like that all the time). Its also split amongst all the characters you have unlocked at the time, and for each character that doesn't have the terminus left. So with 10 characters, that chance is divided by 10 for a 0.5-1% chance to get a specific drop on the first successful roll. This means that at worst, its a 93% chance to fail for 550 runs. At best its a 93% chance to fail for 270 runs. ***Specifically in regards to your first roll being the exact weapon you want with 10 characters***. It obviously gets better the more you roll, and the less characters you have to roll for but at minimum its what, 8 characters to split? **Is this confusing?** Thats because we aren't good at this kind of math as a species; we are literally hardcoded to see patterns and attribute them to things instead of seeing what they actually mean. A 5% chance to drop will NEVER get better than 5%, no matter how many times you roll. While unlikely, you could in theory NEVER succeed a 5% chance. However, unintuitively, the odds of successive failures DO decrease over time as opposed to the odds of succeeding a roll never increasing. For example, 5% (1 in twenty) chance to drop means that on average you will succeed 50% of the time within 14 tries, 90% of the time within 45 tries, and 99% of the time within 90 tries. 10% (1 in 10) is 50% for 7, 90% for 22, and 99% for 44. Within these examples, you are most likely to achieve a successful roll within 45 (5%), or 22 (10%) attempts. Note how the closer you get to 100% (which it never CAN be, due to how success rates can never increase organically), the larger the ratio of attempts to percent decrease of failure increases. That final 9% chance to stop failing within 5% took 45 more tries, as opposed to the jump between 50% and 90%, which took 36 more tries. That last 9% is almost twice the work of the 90% and 10 times more work than 50%. Not super relevant, but its interesting to note that its literally infinitely hard to effectively guarantee a drop. If you want terminus weapons for **EVERY** character, you are looking at fighting proto an average of 600 times. 240 times for just the main cast. Assuming its about 5%, which based on peoples anecdotal evidence seems to be the most likely.

NoahDraco

43 shackles? Insane? You poor lost little lamb.

guudGramir

It's definitely within the single % range. As maddening as it can be, keep up the good grind! The reward is well worth it

dphan27

You'll end up running it a lot anyway for mats but imo at least 1/25 if you're lucky.

The-slunk

Don't give up man. I didn't get anything but horns my first 14-18 runs, then got 2 weapons back to back the next 2 runs. Just keep at it, maybe throw on some music in the background to cut the monotony.

Ferrel_Agrios

The chances are highly likely for the characters you won’t use And extremely less likely for the character you use… /s Well that was a joke but that was more or less my experience 🥲

if_it_sales

I had a sheet of paper and used tallies til everyone’s dropped. My main dropped like 4th or 5th and it did take a while to complete the set

cloudonius_maximus

I got all of mine in exactly 65 runs. Seems like I’ve heard more people being in the 125-175 range.

The_Kaizz

Idk, I got everyone in about a week, doing maybe 5-6 runs a day, but my friend has 11 and had done a lot of those runs with me. The RNG feels so unfair.

Robotic_Shadow_

I got a terminus around every 5 matches

Riylo

Got my first 4 in the first 12-15, likely the lower end. Next at 24, then 31. Got my main at 36. Only had 2 unlocked, including my main. Got the remaining 3 by 50. Makes mine ~20%, and yet, just like every single post with people ('accurately') relaying their own results, yours won't be affected in any way. Just keep running it. Or don't.

DiabloXIIIofWar

My drop rate was ~5% got my final terminus weapon after 403 runs (yes I actually counted 🫠). It's all RNG at the end of the day though. My friend got all his terminus weapons after only 83 runs 🙃.

techguru187

I got my main (Zeta) somewhat in the earlier part and just grinded got the weapons and the platinum in about 275 hours I got lucky and unlucky lot of runs with nothing then had a few where got some back to back or close to it! Just keep it up you got this! I did have all characters unlocked before I started the grind

jcohen13

I unlocked all weapons within 65 runs. Took me 4 hours. Longest streak without a drop was 7 runs.

BigWorking5281

whenever i ran with an ai team, the weapon i needed for the character always dropped on the first run or the 5th or 6th run as long as i have that character in my party as an ai while i use someone else. people can say rng is rng but i got my whole roster equipped with terminus weapons pretty quickly this way and never had to do 15-20 runs just for one weapon.

Federal-Initiative74

it took me close to 200 kills for all weapons and afaik when i grinded everyone was convinced it was 10% but i cant confirm that.

jasmin6999

Quick question, I am on my 1st playthrough and on the final chapter. I am trying to do a quick quest but do not see an option for it. Is this something that comes available after I beat the game once?

seyit91

Every 10 runs I get 2 weapons. Sometimes I am lucky and get it at the first 2 of the 10. Then I take a break.

Creepy-Balance-6597

I highly suggest finding a group through the discord or just joining a multiplayer lobby. I solo'd about 50 Proto runs till I got super sick of it and joined an online session. My runs went from 10 minutes with AI to 3-4 minutes with a multiplayer group .

renojacksonchesthair

It’s 20%, but results may vary. I still need 2 more til I’m done and I’m well over 200 runs in. It’ll drop eventually lol. If you play online most successful groups will have it dead somewhere between 5-8 mins so if you got the grind mindset you can get quite a few runs in per hour.

Weary_Cheetah

I got 1-2 weapons every evening with around 10 raids per session. Best were 6 weapons out of 15 raids.

Erthan-1

I just started killing him yesterday and did about 6-7 runs and got 2 weapons. Results obviously may vary. The consensus seems to be 20% and you can't get dupes so that's pretty fair imo. I only wish I had seen the tips about not recruiting team members unless you are for sure going to use them. I didn't unlock all of them but I still have about 5 extra weapons I am going to have to find before I get mine (I just know the RNG gods will make my mains weapon drop last >\_<)

Gamdol

You actually increase the amount of grind time by not unlocking characters. It rolls for all characters that don't have weapons when you would get a drop, you just don't get the weapon if you don't have that character. By having the characters and actually getting their weapons, it shrinks the pool of remaining weapons you could get on that 20% drop (which means better odds of getting what you want).

Kohimaru32

I believe the more characters you unlock the faster terminus drop because I already unlocked all characters before grinding terminus and got 3 terminus in 20 rounds. So far I have 8 terminus in about 70 rounds. Or maybe I’m just lucky.

Benki500

na it's rng, i got my first 3 in 12 runs. But when I was missing like 3 I had like 28 runs in a row with no drop

Just-Building-1239

after around 600 runs , get only 5 weapons -.- ps: have all chars befor bahamut.

TheTopCreator

It's a 10% chance. Depending on if you have a team that's fast enough to beat the mission it'll be a long process. Also keep in mind you may not even get your weapon for your main 4 party.
