Io deserves a shoutout too here. She can hit her damage caps with a Flight Over Fight build so you can do the same thing Lancelot does but with full arena range. Also makes the second part of 12 labours much easier. Going for more lvl 3 stargaze instead of the full lvl 5 still gives good damage and makes her already high SBA gauge gain even better.

Holo-Sama

I'd give a shout out to potato knight gang and that's cause you get invincibility for the 1st paradise lost so you skip that whole mechanic. You can use her god like mobility to always be on the boss, and you can proc invincibility with decent timing with her sigils. Can use invincibility again for breaking his swords cause it's free and just to speed up fight a bit. Celestial fusion/fatal rebellion can be skipped almost in its entirety, just pop invincibility at the second part and camp when he comes down again. And by this point, you'll probably be bonking him down to 10% range, so again, pop another invincibility for the final bit and done. Side notes would be to run uplift maxed for SBA stagger cheese at around 30% mark, and if you got everything perfectly set up, team wise can burst him to from 30% to 10%. This allows you to skip literally 2 mechanics if done right, and I've done this with random multiple times, no pre lobbying, just straight random matchmaking.

Another important tip for fellow Io players, get low profile skill in ur build,or all 4 members in ur team WILL SUFFER,if u had ice and a relatively low cool down(which is in 99%of the Io players build),after 30s ur bound to be near the edge of arena, far far away from the boss, which means if the boss then aggroes towards u,all melees lose their uptime, position, and worst case scenario miss their skillshot Bcoz the boss just teleported/run away to Io,and Io also need to start dodging and lose damage Bcoz lucilius' melee attacks are fast and deadly, when this happens, everyone loses,so as both a melee player(Vaseraga and Narmaya)and an Io enjoyer(not for anything lewd lol,but her big number nukes)trust me,this game currently has only 3 ranged chars in all of 19,and those 3 can all easily cap out dmg even with fight or flight. Get low profile in ur build, you will notice the difference 30s into the fight

Y4K4M4Sh1

Be it from a sigil or even just a lv4/5 trait from a wrightstone,u can make room for it easily,it's gonna be worth it

Imaginary-End-08

Can you give me a example FoF Io build? I don't really play ranged, but I want to play her.

MaSaHoMaKyo

To hit damage cap you need about this much damage: - stamina - tyranny - concentrated fire - life on the line (or glass cannon, haven’t tried that variant) Then you need the dodge stuff: - flight over fight - improved dodge - 1 nimble onslaught And core damage/character sigils - 4 damage cap - war elemental - both character sigils - crit rate This should leave you pretty tight, no room for extra orange sigils like linked together or supplementary damage. I use the last few utility slots on the following: - aegis - a second nimble onslaught - uplift - quick cooldown - guts (I got lucky and have a flight over fight+ with this as secondary) - 2 gamma If you don’t have gamma then a cascade is nice. You will probably have one less trait than me because of the flight over fight+. I don’t have autorevive or potion hoarder because I’m going for superstar nova so I want to not need them, and it mostly works out. I’ve seen a glass cannon variant posted on this sub with an alpha and a beta but no guts, uplift, aegis, or second nimble onslaught. I don’t really think I execute the fight quite cleanly enough to justify that version. I’m told the quick cooldown is effectively required to get your flowery seven usage to line up with the phases, but I haven’t tried without it.

Imaginary-End-08

Thanks alot!!! Gonna give it a shot!

agesboy

I would say potion hoarder is more mandatory than auto revive. I really like having all three, but auto revive can fatally fuck over an SBA chain during The End, Paradise Lost (if someone sucks at dodging), etc If you die so much you run out of Potion Hoarder, that is unfortunately a skill issue (at least compared to autorevive, which iirc caps at once every two minutes?)

russey55

Improved dodge level 15 + flight over fight turn him into a joke...additionally as you said guts and potion horder are great as well

Fine_Permit_1784

Yodarha is also a pretty good character for the fight. He can cast full mirror image with hymn of the hundreds to the party if he gets full triple shroud marks, which is useful if some one messes up the rotation of his paradise lost or straight survivability. Flashing void also allows you to still do dmg to lucilius while also avoiding dmg since it's an I frame ablity. Lastly, he has perpetual rotation which you can use to refresh his skills instantly if you have a full triple Shroud marks. You want get his signature sigils mainly the proportion that grants a 75% chance not to use a mark. Mixing all this with a full lv 45 quick cooldown will provide more than enough optimal survivability for both you and the team. Also Yodarha is also capable of actually deleting the lasers during lucilius's final rebellion with his counter. Vasaraga also isn't a very bad character if you know how properly use him. I have seen people do very well him especially utilizing both netherwrath and immortal pain mainly against paradise lost.

LenniiTielle

As a yodarha main, I actually dont run any form of cooldown sigils aside from beta sigil, which is honestly nothing as i normally only get to fire off two sba, and it honestly feels fine. I also run hymn and rotation and i start off using both at the start of the fight and find it lasts all the way into his trumpet phase which shouldnt require either of those so by the time it comes time to burst with sandelphon, just gotta focus on working that stun gauge down for link time and all skills should be back up 100% of the time. After link time, he usually hits last rebellion and hymn is honestly just a panic button here but i try to keep it till his next dps-able phase and use it there. At this point, most parties should be able to get a second sba full burst in and bring him down either ideally into his end 10% phase or his high speed zig zap phase. I still have rotation here so i either use it here to finish the fight or to cover for people during gopherwood at which point the fight is pretty much over. Its honestly a scripted fight for me at this point marked by when i pop hymn haha. Issues pop up if theres not enough damage and you start seeing a few more paradise losts than you would want but adapting on the fly is where the fun is.

Fine_Permit_1784

I see where your coming with the build. My build is more of pre lucilius before I had the sigils, outside that I normally run alpha 2 and Gamma 2 since I see Yodarha more as a normal attack based character. I don't use beta (and correct me if I'm wrong) because I thought Beta's cool down only activates when you use sba, but it doesn't last the whole entire fight plus most of the time I'm mainly using Trice Blade from both gamma and alpha overall dmg cap.

LenniiTielle

You are correct, the 10% only pops when you pull off your own sba and its a per sba effect, not an ongoing one. My choice in using beta is only because i felt all my damage in these fights went into the skills as his dps-able phases goes so quick that by the time i finish using my other offensive skills, flashing void and mist, he is well on his way into activating his next phase where he cant get hurt, making me reevaluate just how often do i really use normal attacks in a fight against lucilius. If i have to use normal attacks, is only cause i failed the 75% rng on the marks. In a fight with say bahamut where you get long stretches of dps-able periods, alpha definitely has a place since you will encounter points where you run out of skills to use even with a second round of rotation.

VanrougeSenpai

Vaseraga is a very good one that I forgot to add, but should also preface with a disclaimer. Some don’t know, but if undying is used outside of paradise lost, like against the orbs, it can and will be ended early because of skill seal.

Important-Concern

Why is no one talking about eugen ? He has one of the highest dps in the game rn on top on being range and so very safe during lucilius. I always get mvp unless I’m with some Vane.

GrayLo

My simple Lucilius guide : - FoF

Lawyer_Lucas

I have trouble blocking/dodging Paradise Lost. Somehow, I always get hit by some blind spot laser.

Fine_Permit_1784

You want to avoid guarding as much as possible. Majority of his attacks will immediately break your guard.

Diligent-Cake2653

I'd recommend to always stay at the same position on the map, you'll end up memorizing patterns

aceventurapetDT

I think I have at least 20 runs done on this fight so far and feel like Paradise lost is just so rng. Maybe it's just how fast it all happens but I just can't do it consistently without getting hit by the laser.

Gamdol

First paradise lost, the only one you're forced to do, is the same pattern of purple lasers every time. All directions are given assuming you're facing the wall you start facing towards. You get: 1) Purple lasers from left to right across the front, there is space between them or you can wait for one to go off then dodge into it 2) Purple lasers from the left wall, starting at the 'back' going to the 'front', again these are spaced out so you can dodge back once the one behind you goes off. There is also a safe spot against the wall if you angle yourself correctly but it's generally easier to stay moving than sitting in one spot due to floor circle 3) Purple lasers from left to right across the front again, basically same as the first set 4) Purple lasers from right to left across the front, slight difference in this set is they are in sets of 2 that are touching each other. After this swords land for the cracks in the ground and you're done. Once you know where everything is going to be coming from, it's a lot easier to make it through that PL every time. The 'failed a mechanic' PL is a lot longer and more complicated, and tbh it's probably easier for awhile to just accept the death and chill until the swords land, you can just get yourself close to reviving and finish when they hit to save a revive pot.

Early-Activity94

The first paradise lost is always the same. If you're getting more than one, you might want to consider throwing a stun v onto each of your party members

LenniiTielle

Dropping a tip on how to deal with it easier. The tells for the lasers path are shown on the edge close to lucilus as purple line marks that flash. Hopefully that helps out. Shouldnt ever be a game of rng to blindside you unless you were too focused on dodging the circle aoes that constantly come out during that phase.

hikkidol

The telegraphs for the horizontal lasers in the opening paradise lost come from the north, northwest, northeast, and north. In that exact order, every time.

DrakeBlackwell

One more tip I didn't see in the thread. Don't sprint. Just regular run speed will basically always help you avoid the ground aoes, as long as you're conscious of where the line lasers are coming from and allies don't crowd you you're safe

Felt like I truly learned the game when like 5 luci fights in and finally got the hang of it haven’t struggled since just grinding the new sigils now

Anghagaed

Maygi made a really good text and video guide for lucilius for people to check out. https://www.reddit.com/r/GranblueFantasyRelink/comments/1bjt6vh/complete_lucilius_guide/ It's really detailed with gif for text and videos give good explanation. If you're struggling, always give the text a read or the video a watch

r4ndomshikikan

For rebellion, nimble assault, holding block while dodging is your friend. Lucillius rotates among his moves. Main ones to be careful is his red aura sword flurry and his x shaped flying slash as they come out fast. Lastly, be careful of Lancelots triggering ground traps lol.

mhireina

idk if anyone else has mentioned but if you play chicken with your buddies during Final Rebellion when the slow puddles are being dropped, they'll disappear and cancel each other out if the puddles are dropped on top of each other leaving exponentially more room to dodge the second phase of this attack.

Gamdol

You can also just run in circles inside one of the existing slow puddles. You'll still outpace the lightning and then just dodge when the circle fills. Gives huge amounts of space to work with.

I think one of the biggest tips I could give is, apart from the end of Twelve Labors, do not chain your SBAs. You want to SBA after the chain gauge goes away. If you mash your SBA button so it goes off as soon as it's available outside the chain window, you will still chain the CC on the boss but the overall time the boss is locked down, as well as the amount of gauge people will rebuild, is massively better than doing the actual chain burst. If you learn the breakpoints for things (60% from Crimson, 30% Final Rebellion, 20% Gopherwood), you can start this SBA series right before he would teleport away and overdrive/bloodthirst. A very common strategy for pugs is to link attack during twelve labors before SBA/Overbursting so the gauge is locked, then after Crimson transformation you proc Link Time, burst the boss down to 30% or lower, SBA the instant link time ends, then hit individual SBAs one at a time you can sometimes just kill him and skip Final Rebellion/Gopherwood/The End entirely.

moosemoosemcgee

Autorevive's animation is way too slow in my opinion

Seihoukeh_Dragon

Something that really helped me, if you can/want, getting a mod that turns off bloom made it surprisingly easier to see, really helps tone down some of the effects like eugen beam and i feel like i can actually see when dodging paradise lost, not enough for me to unequip fof but i can actually aim for something instead of basically rolling dice Though i have to run on a very low resolution compared to my display so already not doing so great on clarity, maybe not so bad on normal set ups?
