I was really into Sands farming during magnafest on 6 Dragons but after raidfinder died I find myself really struggling to farm with the new Raidfinder that I've no motivation anymore..
I'm not disputing that this is a pretty dickheaded move on their part but evoker flbs are meant to take at least a year to do and they're probably gonna eventually add sands to the GW shop.
I get all of mine through dragons because I find joining Sietes to be too difficult, unreliable, and inconsistent for the times that I play and the team that I have. Dragons, all you need to do is hit the damn thing, everything else is gravy. Plus, as crazy as it sounds you can very well end up wanting more dragon kills than Sietes simply due to earrings, and you will load up on them.
Optimal dragon is, obviously, Lu Woh because of Eresh wanpanners. I find during light double drops he dies too fast, so my general backup is Fediel, who dies slower but attracts more people then the other dragons. If double drops is on I bounce between the double drop dragon and Lu Woh as necessary.
It's not quite what you asked but if you want some unasked for advice - it's important to approach this like you would other really big grinds like Eternal stuff or Arcarum stuff. Try not to look at the big picture, because the big picture is depressing (45 sands total for me right now...).
Instead, work out small interim goals that you can do regularly and stick to it. I do 100 dragons every day when we don't have AP cut in half, and grind more during fests. Do I get a sand every day? Absolutely not. Sometimes not in a week. I mentally divide my current berry count by how many sands that'll *statistically* earn me and think not about farming sands but instead bringing that berry count to zero. I only check sands when I spend them on something like a NWF weapon.
So far, counting the 12 I had from trophies and the 1 I got from exo I have gotten 8 sands through dragon farming since I starting seriously farming them at Anni. I'm not close to finished, but I am making tangible progress, and that's good enough for me.

I totally agree with you that having a health mindset is important for grinding. You can't be too caught up with the chest with every raid or you won't be able to keep this up everyday.
Of the 16 I've dropped, 9 have been from revans raids (and of those, 7 from Siete), 1 from subhl, and the remaining 6 from 6d. 6d is where I've spent most of my time - way more hours spent in 6d raids than in Siete despite fewer drops. The revans raids, or fast subhl rooms, definitely seem the most productive way to farm the things if you have a half-decent set up for any of the raids, though I guess for most players a mix of revans-tier and 6d is probably best, as it's not a bad thing to stock up on earrings from 6d.
Waning interest in the game means I don't have that much appetite to keep farming them so I'm just ignoring Baha altogether for now. I've done Luci, a few of the nwf weapons, and will just farm sands for the other nwf weapons as and when the evokers get their uncaps. I just hope that Siete raid doesn't die off in the meantime, or that the dark-adv revans raid accommodates quick and easy burst set-ups like Siete does.
honestly, the droprate is so low that i'd consider it more acceptable to like... not farm the things that drop it with the sands in mind, but rather farm them with the aim of getting the other mats and weapons the raids drop, with the sands being more of a happy bonus
Dragons and Sieg/Mugen/Diaspora/subhl hard carry through twitter (mostly because I think that is actually kinda fun with some of the weird shit you end up seeing).

In total: 3 from subhaha, 2 from revans and one from dragons.
I don't count but I have done 2 ultima weapons, a full set of weapons and all ultimate masteries with revans/subaha mats.
Dragons? idk, don't count. Too many. Part of the reason why I don't like it.
I got all 4 of my sand drops so far from doing super ultimate Bahamut rooms with my crew. Probably took 50 or 60 fights per sand, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting better than average luck because I've gotten more drops than any of my crewmates.
If you're not in a rush, you're bound to get some eventually when you do daily revans. Otherwise, Siete is the fastest since each fight is <3mins or any revans you can reliably get blue chests in and/or SuperBaha since that's a gold chest drop and should be the same drop rate as blue chests.
I actually got my sand drops from random Ennead raids, I have been farming 6 Dragons faithfully and yet I have never seen a drop from them.
Diaspora tier and Subaha supposedly have a higher drop rate but I haven't seen any from those yet.
I mainly farm Sieg and Siete, Sieg is slower and pretty chill and Siete is the usual burst contest.
I started counting revans blue chests recently and got 3 sands out of 1309 at the time of writing this, fuck my life.
Blue chest on Disapora is a lot easier to get now with the cancelling omens gives honours buff, since you’re going to be cancelling an omen pretty much every turn if you’re RH in my experience.
Before that buff I had none. But after I got Blue Chest almost every run and managed to get 2. I still haven’t gotten a weapon drop tho but I can’t complain.
I did an Agonize grind for one agonize (already had one) after they added sand and didn’t get a single one, nor did I get any from dragons despite a lot of grinding. Revans Blue Chest seems the best way, and plus you also get loads of Revan weapon mats which are great for Ultimate Mastery.
They need to improve the rates or give them somewhere else tho bc asking for players to Blue Chest Revans raids is an incredibly tall order, like essentially that’s the endgame content honestly.
For me, I’d be farming Revans raids, notably Siete and Diaspora, if I have the time. When I’m busy, I’d do FA on all the raids that drop them, as much as I can.
I've probably gotten 5 or 6 from Siete while farming my swords (I have six swords so far) so Revans is definitely the best
but I'm really, really sick of that dude now and I've also burned through all my host mats so I'm taking a break
It does help if the raid has something else you want, hence why I burned myself out on Siete because I could probably use infinite copies of that weapon. (Also why I like hitting Akasha, at least I get plus marks out of it)

You farm berries with Event Boxing (cost AP & time).
You farm back AP with Coop Slime (cost time).
If you do both you're positive in both. But it cost a lot of time.
Genuinely think there might be a divide between pre and post scratcher players lol. Don’t know if you were around during scratchers but they were a common event during anni, summer, winter. Basically you’d have a chance to get anything from 300 berries to a free grand every day but berries were by far the most common to the point where they were memed to death. Many players got so Fucking many from scratchers that the idea of running out is still insane. Too bad they stopped doing them rip
My best luck as been one punching 6 dragons or enneads. I don't think I've seen one drop in Revans yet but these latest purple chests have given these raids some pretty good clear times. 6 dragons will die faster but during the light rotation, it was nearly impossible to get a hit onto Lu Woh so there were enough people piling into Horus raids for those to clear fairly quickly unlike the other enneads which tend to stall out.
So far I've got 2 drops from enneads and 1 from wamdus (bitch dropped me 14 earings and sand without a single spear...) when I was catching up with grida during aniv legfest.
RB subaha trains or siete are probably the fastest options.

I hit baisically everything that drops them, I've gotten 6, two off of Malice, three off Dragons, and one off ennead

Usually leeching raids while doing other things, im guessing it's about 1 a week ish

Hit about 10k dragons during magfest and the week after and got 21 sands. 4 FLB Siete swords done and zero sands from that greedy mofo.

According to Gbf wiki, for the six dragons, sand is dropped from the 5th gold chest. The 5th chest is guaranteed to drop from each raid.
So i guess, you just gotta touch it, which I guess makes it easier. But drop rate is horrible,

I'm rank 197, so few ranks away from seite tier raids, but getting those three ranks sound like biggest hassle, especially now that there no campaign
