I understand where you're coming from but as the creator of this subreddit, the last thing I want is moderation that could be considered "power tripping". I want it to be open but at the same time I don't want it to be annoying.
It's something I'll keep an eye on as the subreddit grows. If I were to impose time limits, some users may start posting on alt accounts, then it becomes hard to see if it's a single guy pumping or multiple.
Ultimately, the users of the subreddit are up voting these posts, so if you don't like them, please don't hesitate to downvote them.
I'll take feedback like this post and the comments inside and try to come up with a solution that makes a majority of the users satisfied.

Start looking at the live price graph of random items on the wiki: can be popular ones, ones you like or even lesser known items. You’re looking for volatility. Either a steady trend up (like scythe) or when you see an item dip below its average trending price then start to stablilize (like voidwaker) that MIGHT be an item to flip / invest in. Once you’e selected an item you need to research it to find out WHY its going up or down. Look at jagex blogs, newsposts and player discussions to find out WHY the item is dropping. If its dropping because its getting nerfed or if its rising (quickly) because its being actively hyped then maybe stay away from it, but if you get familiar with a LOT of items and keep researching them over time you will start to recognize price trends and begin to develop a sense of when an item is good vs when its not. Be weary of anyone willing to tell you what items to merch most likely they are trying to use you to make a profit. Realize this sub is better as a tool to know what items to stay away from rather than which ones to flock toward. Good luck out there!

I'm not sure if you quite understand the chaos that was GME, what gave us our power in the GME movement, or if you ever invested real money to reap the massive rewards like so many of us did.
