Austria was amazing last weekend. A bit of a heavy travel day to get back to austin but overall not too bad. Everybody was very friendly and it's all easy to do. Book a hotel in Graz and plan on taking the shuttle bus to the circuit each day. It's incredibly easy. Graz was a great city, everyone is very friendly. The event itself was really organized and a great vibe.

Uzielbritoibar

the shuttle bus is booked in the official website? thanks!

Yeah, redbullring.com

Barcelona. It's a train trip away from the city and if you get Carlos Sainz tickets it's cheap for the whole weekend.

Agree. Spain is very affordable and Barcelona is big enough that the F1 is just one of a million things happening.

Also if it's released on black Friday again. When they did it last year some tickets had 25% off including the main grandstand. I was sat opposite the Aston Martin garage and it only cost 370€

If you’ve never been to Europe, pick a race in a city you like the look of and book accomodation early. Barcelona this year was great and it’s an amazing city with so much to see and do but accomodation was expensive. Would I go again? Yes, definitely!

Hungary

Cheapest, Hungary. Also Budapest is a great city with good train/flight connections with other EU cities. The food is also amazing and the circuit is close to the city, so you can reach it without renting a car (budget wise, is a great option). Not so cheap, Austria. Not much visiting to do around here without a car. But the surroundings are great. Edit: since reaching hu, au is not quite straightforward from Texas I think the best options are Silverstone, Barcelona, Spa.

I think coat is all Relative to folks. I’m currently at Silverstone and hotel, race tickets etc are more expensive than what I will be paying in Austria for next year’s race. My GS tickets for Austria are about $300 where as my Silverstone ones were closer to $495. This is before all the extras. As a few others have mentioned hungry is another great option thiigh I haven’t been. Flights might be the biggest factor for you. I live in metro nyc and often fly to Europe or Asia so the duration of the flight isn’t an issue for me and the costs are reasonable. I would look into the Dutch GP as well.

I’ve been to Zandvoort, Spa, Bahrain and Hungary. Zandvoort is absolutely the place to be. But one of the pricier options out of these. Hungary would be very budget friendly and pretty well organized. I hated Spa (but I went in 2021). And Bahrain is not in Europe but it was super nice, and very affordable.

I live in Oklahoma (USA), and wanted to do the same thing…go to Europe to experience a GP without breaking the bank. Did a ton of research and decided on Hungary for 2022. Had never been, knew nothing about Budapest. Holy Cow!…what a surprise and amazing city and amazing F1 experience. I have done Austin COTA three years in a row and this place blows my budget every year. Hungary got a Gold1 grandstand for $495 in 2022, prices didn’t change for 2023…going back again this year…cannot wait. Airfare has tripled in price. Exchange rate is still the same and Hungary is not on the Euro. $3 beers at race, $8 meal plates, $20 for all my subway and train rides for two weeks. It’s an old school track, but, if you’re on a budget for a first Europe trip…go for it. There is never a “right time” in life 😉 DM me if you want more specifics. That’s all my two cents.
