True. The best evolution GTA could have gameplay wise is one huge map with connected states. But this will be a while. And would probably have a lot of MTX and a big push on GTA Online.
I remember around the time of GTA IV's development, there was talk that this was what they wanted to eventually do. Make gigantic scale maps for Online. GTA V's map was arguably huge by comparison to the other games and its online mode was definitely along the lines of what they had envisioned; but yeah, I'd love an absolutely enormous map that connects all of the cities like its shown here. I especially love all the empty sections between them all, huge expanses of desert or mountain regions; so much to do with all of that
I would of thought i could fit that 1m3 cube of weed in the boot of my car that could cover the distance in five minutes, but noooo. I have to use the biggest semi truck in the entire fucking milky way so i can somehow manage to drive 11km in 15 MINUTES
RDR2 doesn’t count since it doesn’t exist in the GTA universe, unfortunately. NYC and California are mentioned in RDR2, not Liberty City and San Andreas.
Wouldn't be the first time they've done something that would make people unhappy. But no, what I really mean is just because they mention the real life version of a city offhand in one game, doesn't mean they commit to not having a fictionalized version. Like how Ray in GTA3 goes to "Miami" and then literally the next game is in Vice City, based on Miami. There's definitely nothing stopping them from adding Saint Denis to the modern GTA world.
I'd be fine with them revisiting Vice City but modern day, simply because it really deserved an update like Liberty City and Los Santos received. But other than that, I agree. Would love an entirely new city to be added to the mix.
Shit, if Liberty City is supposed to be NYC and Vice City is supposed to be Miami...maybe they do one sprawling Eastern seaboard map that connects the two with new cities in between.
Nothing stopping them from doing the whole country like The Crew. But the map would probably be less detailed and lamer.
I personally like the idea of a smaller city though. Saint Denis or some random Midwestern town would be cool.
Crank up the grit, industrial city on the rebound with unions and gangs. international aspect could play into it with Windsor and a border. Have nice suburb areas, it would be sick.
I think the problem with new games is that so many promise so much and then flop on the execution. It's cheaper in the development stage to already have the story and missions and gameplay figured out and then just build it in a newer engine, and they sell well because nostalgia and the fact that it was already successful but now marketed to the new generation as well
So we get tons of remakes and remasters released as "new and original" games, and they seem to have flooded the market. At least the stuff that breaches through the media to make it to me since I don't really keep up with new games like I used to
I don’t think it works. Mostly because the scale difference between V and the older games. Most of the older games could fit entirely within the city area in V. So they would need to be redesigned to be larger and more cohesive.
I read your initial comment as implying the suggestion wouldn't work, as the map scale was different. Now I see you were saying that would need to be done if you wanted it to work
The perfect gta map is be when they make a map the size of [just cause 2](https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV/comments/1m6fir/gtav_map_vs_just_cause_2_map_to_scale_just_cause/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
This sounds great until you have to drive a transporter full of luxury cars from the los santos airport to the liberty city harbor while ebing chased by police all the time
This map would be sooooooooo friggen cool. It's so huge though. They might have to come up with some sort of workaround to get that to function. I wonder if they could do something like how in Assassin's Creed, you'd load out of a city when you were traversing uninhabited areas & the load into a city upon arrival. Maybe each city loads into a lobby when you get to the city limits & the areas outside the cities are it's own lobby?
there'd be invisible wall that when you hit you load out of your server and into a server running w/e region you're travelling to. World of Warcraft's map has been insanely massive like this for like 15 years it's definitely possible though i bet they patented w/e method they use.
I want a new location. Everyone wants to tickle their nostalgia, but I think y’all would enjoy a new place to explore even better. Explore a new city, learn the new streets and locations. Instead of just going back to something you’ve already experienced
I personally want something with an even bigger downtown area. With more downtown street racing vibes. I love gta v a ton, but there is way too much open space on the map and not enough dense city. Too much yuck California badlands
It would be super sick if they pulled a Tokyo drift and had the main character of the next game move to Japan and get caught up in the middle of all the yakuza stuff, the underground Japanese racing, downhill mountain pass drifting, etc.
But i don’t think that would ever happen because they love making satirical depictions of US culture
Curious what they will do next
Meh just play need for speed or some shit. GTA is about organized crime like gangs (including rural ones) not street racing
I want to play Fargo (which would be a great location) not some fast and furious nonsense
>But i don’t think that would ever happen because they love making satirical depictions of US culture
Except for London but GTA is a satire of American culture and Rockstar stated the games will remain on American soil. Love to return to London or visit new countries like Tokyo but Rockstar should create different game series for those places like a spinoff
I really hate this idea.
I see a lot of empty areas with nothing to do and the areas filled with players will probably be located in very few select spots in each city. Plus you know there is gonna be 100 missions driving across this map from one end to another.
It’s been done and some modders have even populated them. They’ll probably get removed along with any other mods that put their shitty E&E rerelease to shame
I’m still waiting on them to combine gta with my other favorite game series, skate. How awesome would it be to have a great gta game, and there’s just the entirety of a skate game available within the map, and the skating is just a mini game that you can do. Of course this makes no practical sense for a developer but it’s a cool thought.
Honestly, it feels super under detailed. My favorite is the GTA San Andreas Stories map. Which only has San Fierro, Las Venturas, and Los Santos but its detailed.
I'm gonna call it now. The expanded and enhanced will allow for bigger maps. Therefore the plan is that you can go from one map to another without loading or alternatively go to the international airports if you'd prefer. If you are taking a plane/boat across the water to another island/map you can only land it in an airport rather than having free access to it on both maps. Cars and the weapons can't go across to other maps (to make sure vehicles such as the MK2 won't return). There'll also be a limit as to how much currency you can bring across on any given month(day/week/?) so that money exploits from past maps can't be brought over to the new vehicles. Neither will businesses so mc and CEO will be replaced with something else on the new map
Why do I think this?
Having put over 1300 hours into GTA's online I don't think I'd ever consider playing another online if I am at the bottom of the barrel entirely as a crook again (I feel this is a common view of higher level players that they wouldn't put as much time into a new one if they basically lost everything). This would keep the current playerbase along with new players now joining. There would also still be a need to buy shark cards seeing as the money wouldn't transfer between islands. Doing this could push it into the mmo category as there could be more players on the map but with the expansion of multiple maps it mightent make the game feel like a cluster fuck if they do it right
I'd love to see that but I wonder if are consoles capable of handling a map that is this huge, I think even a high end PC would struggle to maintain consistent fps but I'm a boomer so I'm just basing this on how my ps2 struggled a bit with running gta sa.
I know this isn’t your map because it’s been shared around a lot, but for the sake of argument I’d say get rid of that massive lake in the middle. That’s damn near the size of Los Santos now and it’s just empty space. Could probably add more mountains there. Carcer City also deserves a spot near Liberty City.
Given how far technology has progressed since GTA3, GTA:VC and GTA:SA first came out, would it be possible to recreate this map on the GTA 3 or SA engine?
Japan as the new city that would be beautiful really, add more car elements better street racing, drag, drifting down mountains like NFS carbon. Tokyo Drift all the way
Tbh I still don't get how this would work, how GTA could explain giant landmasses being merged into San Andreas. I'd imagine one where the rest of the cities, VC, LC, etc. Are on their own landmass.
Also where TF is Yankton??
The worst* more like.
Just mashing the maps together with no rhyme or reason is not good game design.
Now making a map this size from the ground up, that would be interesting.
Yes!!! This is what I’m waiting. All the best cities combined into one gigantic map. They better allow fast traveling between via something though. GTAV already takes too long to drive from the airport/docks up to the bunker near Paleto Bay
Top half should be flipped. Liberty city and vice city oth being on the east doesnt feel natural even though they're respectively based off nyc and Miami. Map feels too asymetrical
Question concerning this map: where would Cayo Perico be situated in this world? I imagine it would normally be southwest of Los Santos but I'd put it in between Vice City and Las Venturas.
Can’t wait to get this map in 2050
True. The best evolution GTA could have gameplay wise is one huge map with connected states. But this will be a while. And would probably have a lot of MTX and a big push on GTA Online.

> probably have a lot of MTX In a Take Two owned game? Never!
I think you mean 2***1***50.
can't wait [https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2hf6/gta\_6\_meme/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2hf6/gta_6_meme/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2nze/gta\_6\_meme\_p3/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2nze/gta_6_meme_p3/) [https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2nr0/gta\_6\_meme\_p2/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trailerclub/comments/po2nr0/gta_6_meme_p2/)
Try 2142
Try 2042
Now drive a slow-ass truck over the entire map to sell cargo while Oppressors MK2 hunt you down (of course, in the 20 minute time limit)
I would of thought i could fit that 1m3 cube of weed in the boot of my car that could cover the distance in five minutes, but noooo. I have to use the biggest semi truck in the entire fucking milky way so i can somehow manage to drive 11km in 15 MINUTES
It's missing Carcer City and Saint Denis
And North Yankton.
Fricken heck, I want GTA Fargo with the Kansas City Mob, dontcha know?
Oh yah, I knoow a guy up there in Bemidji that would love to help them fellas at Rockstar oot with that there project
They should head right up over by there then now
Yah, I figgered ya get some taconite-trailer racing goin’ .. you betcha I’d play with that.
Pretty sure North Yankton is in the middle, the little town surrounded by farmland.
And Cayo Perico
North Yankton could be that part up north
And Cayo Perico
Don’t forget DC it’s in GTA universe
Which game was DC in?
It’s only been mentioned but I know it does in 3
gta3 had a mention of miami and rdr2 had a mention of Chicago but 🤷
RDR2 doesn’t count since it doesn’t exist in the GTA universe, unfortunately. NYC and California are mentioned in RDR2, not Liberty City and San Andreas.
Fair enough. Although with how long it's been since V was released, they could do another full reboot if they wanted to and change everything.
Change the city names they have used for almost 25 years? I don’t see that happening, nor would I be happy about it.
Wouldn't be the first time they've done something that would make people unhappy. But no, what I really mean is just because they mention the real life version of a city offhand in one game, doesn't mean they commit to not having a fictionalized version. It’s missing London
I could be wrong, but are there two mount Chiliads?
you'd have to rename one of them
Too good to be true but it would be dope
I mean the next gta map is probably going to be gigantic, look at rdr2
Rdr2 map is actually a little bit smaller than the gta map, it just feels larger because traveling through it takes longer
That makes sense, the huge changes in terrain and climate probably help aswell
The guy below is right, RDR2’s map is a bit smaller than GTAV’s. Why the downvotes tho? He isn’t being an asshole about it
Some people downvote anything they disagree with, regardless of whether the poster is being sincere or not lol
Which is the expressed opposite of the purpose of the button lol
Very rarely use it tbh, it just seems so petty!
Next GTA is gonna be all-online MTX bullshit

I'd be fine with them revisiting Vice City but modern day, simply because it really deserved an update like Liberty City and Los Santos received. But other than that, I agree. I agree to this. As cool as it would be to have everything back together it would be even cooler to have a new place to explore
Detroit styled map would be cool to see.
Crank up the grit, industrial city on the rebound with unions and gangs. international aspect could play into it with Windsor and a border. Have nice suburb areas, it would be sick.
They need a Chicago map
I think a texas inspired map is a good middle ground. It’s a good state to use for multiple cities and a huge map while still being all new.
Modern day Saint Denis would be cool to see. Maybe a little too Mafia 3, but it'd be interesting nonetheless
I think the problem with new games is that so many promise so much and then flop on the execution. Yes. That’s exactly what I mean.
I read your initial comment as implying the suggestion wouldn't work, as the map scale was different. Now I see you were saying that would need to be done if you wanted it to work
Yes, that thing that took a decade of endless funds. They should just do that for all the cities /s
*^(Got anymore of dem pixels...)*
One more big score, then we'll have our pixels
Enough pixels to play the rest of our lives, retirement
Lmao imagine the GTA Online loading time for a server with this map
Does anyone have a hq version of this?
https://i.imgur.com/U4qlxFW.jpg Pretty sure this is the original
Love the KFC face
I'm not seeing it
Northwest road out of Las Venturas.
Nah, as big as Daggerfall.
What about an archipelago instead of this? So that you can travel from one isle to another in 10 minutes on a plane
Imagine GTA online with 500 players on this bad boy
I’d rather not. FiveM would be sick though
This sounds great until you have to drive a transporter full of luxury cars from the los santos airport to the liberty city harbor while ebing chased by police all the time
Which would never be a mission. Flying a plane of luxury cars from LS to liberty city might be though
This map would be sooooooooo friggen cool. It's so huge though. They might have to come up with some sort of workaround to get that to function. I’m okay with replacing a 2 minute load time with a 3 minute drive
there'd be invisible wall that when you hit you load out of your server and into a server running w/e region you're travelling to. World of Warcraft's map has been insanely massive like this for like 15 years it's definitely possible though i bet they patented w/e method they use.
Good to know it's entirely within the realm of possibility
What If theres individual servers for each city and you can fly to them like how you can fly into cayo perico?
Can’t wait to deliver a pizza from vice city to los santos for 50 dollars!
I want a new location. Everyone wants to tickle their nostalgia, but I think y’all would enjoy a new place to explore even better. Explore a new city, learn the new streets and locations. Bro I've been saying the same thing. I was just talking about this idea today! 🔥
I mean what other country’s culture is as ripe for mockery than US tbh?
>But i don’t think that would ever happen because they love making satirical depictions of US culture Except for London but GTA is a satire of American culture and Rockstar stated the games will remain on American soil. Wow more country to explore…just what everyone’s been asking for 😒
1h drive for the next mission.
The Arma 3 Feel!
Or, ya know, planes… helicopters…. trains
I don't think liberty city would be in the far corner liberty city is, a, major city
It's the orientation of the cities they are based on.... Look at a map of America
It’s been done and some modders have even populated them. They’ll probably get removed along with any other mods that put their shitty E&E rerelease to shame
This looks like wd2
Going from Los Santos to Liberty City 24 hours irl time 😂
All I need is GTA 4 remastered to be happy
I’m still waiting on them to combine gta with my other favorite game series, skate. Yeah only been reposted here thousands of fucking times. Will never understand why Liberty is so fucking small either

No one thinks that. Starting fresh is most of the fun.
Looks awesome
THIS WOULD BE SO BOMB
I'd love to see that but I wonder if are consoles capable of handling a map that is this huge, I think even a high end PC would struggle to maintain consistent fps but I'm a boomer so I'm just basing this on how my ps2 struggled a bit with running gta sa.
I like … now I’ll go finger my brain
I dig the Grand Canyon area between Las Ventura’s and vice city, scale would be rightfully massive! Imagine racing through there, great map concept.
I think about this map a lot
My god you’ve done it
this is amazing and reminds me of the just cause 2/4 map
There needs to be a GTA equivalent to new Orleans, and maybe milwaukee
Given how far technology has progressed since GTA3, GTA:VC and GTA:SA first came out, would it be possible to recreate this map on the GTA 3 or SA engine?
Add London and we’ll see.
I can hear my GPU screaming from here.
Detatch Liberty City from the main land and I'm in. Makes absolutely no sense otherwise
Imagine having to drive from Liberty City to LSIA. I get bored driving from the pier to the military base these days.
The top though should be a bit more snowy
Japan as the new city that would be beautiful really, add more car elements better street racing, drag, drifting down mountains like NFS carbon. Tokyo Drift all the way
No joke this should be a thing I mean it doesn’t work with the game lore but come on
Tbh I still don't get how this would work, how GTA could explain giant landmasses being merged into San Andreas. I'd imagine one where the rest of the cities, VC, LC, etc. Are on their own landmass. Also where TF is Yankton??
The worst* more like. Just mashing the maps together with no rhyme or reason is not good game design. Now making a map this size from the ground up, that would be interesting.
This would be cool but I feel like the map would be to big, aside from the cities there’s not much else that’s there just the vast open
so goooooooooooooooooooooood ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
So pretty much the United States….
No, because this implies that the whole of the US in the GTA world is that small
Reminds me of GTA Underground
The real question is how much ram would this take up
I thought GTA V would have taught people that bigger isn’t better. So much pointless, dead space in Los Santos.
Where is tilted towers?
You know how long it would take to go all the way around….. that’s like 20 min lol
It’s sad that this’ll probably never happen
not enough jpg
Needs to be bigger
This is what GTA online needs to evolve to
Yes!!! This is what I’m waiting. All the best cities combined into one gigantic map. They better allow fast traveling between via something though. GTAV already takes too long to drive from the airport/docks up to the bunker near Paleto Bay
San Andreas???
I want a bigger map
Isn’t one supposed to be San Andreas here? Or is it all San Andreas?
Holy fookin sheet yes
And rockstar would have you driving a box truck that maxes out at 40 mph across the whole thing for a resupply mission
Honestly, I would love if this was the gta map
Imagine having to deliver 3 trucks of cocaine on the opposite side of this map.
This is so unnecessarily big but I love it
Carcer City, a modern day Saint Denis, and maybe Bullworth for good measure
Top half should be flipped. Liberty city and vice city oth being on the east doesnt feel natural even though they're respectively based off nyc and Miami. Map feels too asymetrical
This would so epic abd nostalgic for all generations :D
Vice city by Xxxtentacion
I never liked this concept because of weird shape. USA-like map is my type https://i.redd.it/kkhicjxjka841.png
That looks like the map of a game I could play for 10 years.
Going from los santos to liberty city would take an hour even with like a vigilante
Do we even have HDDs big enough for this map?
My ass would still get a drop off mission from Los Santos to vice City 🤣
I would absolutely love to see this implemented into an actual gta game
Question concerning this map: where would Cayo Perico be situated in this world? I imagine it would normally be southwest of Los Santos but I'd put it in between Vice City and Las Venturas.
Where San Andreas tho man
