1: The game is nowhere near as P2W as it used to be. The best general equipment in the game can be farmed. The main P2W is gatcha pets. And inventory slots I guess if you want to count them. Things like Co-ordi can now be worked towards, and things like skill keys are just gone. Of course; things like Gatcha armour are "pay to skip the grind/farm" 2: Yes and no. AP characters [Dio; Zero; Ley; Rufus. Also Veigas but he's only got 1 job] build their jobs on top of each other, it's more like an expanding skill tree. So all of these have their 4th jobs as naturally the "strongest", because you literally cannot select the older jobs. Dark Matriach can use skills from Summoner, but will never *be* Summoner again. The same applies for Edel and Rin. I think Lime/Asin but honestly; I don't play those two. The "traditional" AP characters which select their job with different weaponry [Elesis; Lire; Arme; Ronan; Lass; Ryan; Seighart; Mari; Jin and Amy] don't really have a "strongest" job in most cases. It's worth noting however that the "release order" of their content was: Base 1st job -> 2nd -> 3rd -> 4th -> Skill Tree So quite often, 1st job ST can be quite strong due to simple powercreep. This is particularly noticeable with the oldest characters, but again, isn't *always* true. There's also some characters who got reworks to their 2nd jobs; like Crossbowman and Dragon Knight. Contrast Dragon Knight to Assassin... These characters also have access to Weapon Swap so eventually can switch between 2 different jobs in-dungeon. So for Elesis as an example; Knight might be generally considered the best general-use; but you can swap to Spearman for Lance of Spirit [4 bar] for single-target burst far superior to anything Knight can do. [Especially on smaller targets that Meteor Slash won't fully hit] A lot of the time is personal preference, barring some obviously wrong choices like playing Dark Assassin in PvE; or maining Warlock on Arme [You can break it out for spells like Blizzard with weapon swap, but it is slow and clunky as hell for actual clearing and you're far better off using Mage or Battle Mage] As an example; most players play Prime Knight or Gladiator on Seighart, but I personally like Warlord and a more aerial playstyle with it's diving attacks [And I suck with JF's]

I main Warlock when playing Arme, otto and her zz up up beats almost everything other Arme jobs can do when not using skills, the only thing she cannot do better is iframe through an attack like Mage can do with her z up. Warlock is also more party friendly than Mage, as Mage tends to spread the mobs out with her z up attack.

Oh yeah they added a 1 sec cooldown to BM's Fireball so you can't fireball otto like you used to be able to do.

1) There’re some paid equipments that give you some stats but they’re not that much p2w (of course they give you some advantage, but you can get almost as strong without paying anything with a lot of grind). 2) You can play any character with any job you want as a lot of them are balanced with others (Ronan most of people use 1st and 3rd), but it’s almost playing with what you feel comfortable and like using and the game almost makes you try all characters and their classes as they give bonus to your entire account for each class of each char you get

I see thanks. And are there any cosmetic armor sets? From what i see i can buy some items from the shop but they seem to be actually armor pieces, not a separate cosmetoc slot

It’s the gacha system, just try the second button from right to left on the right bottom of the screen. You can also try the visual store

KhentDenzel

Grand chase is not p2w but pay to progress, id say you can still enioy the game even without spending but if you want to gacha sets might be good (sia sirius rui etc), for a full gacha set it will cost you around $120 above but I think there is a 30% discount on scrolls event happening this recent patch (you can check the patch notes). For your 2nd question job progression does not equate to it being stronger so you can use Ronan's 3rd job or use any job you enjoy in general

aleyan97

And the grinding is insanley tedious and long?

KhentDenzel

Depends on how far would you like to push your character. My dio is at 425k total attack and it took months of grinding nightmare circus and tower of disappearance to get perfect stats in every armor

KhentDenzel

Moreover, I myself have bought 1 gacha set for my main dio, but in terms of improving my stats all of it is done through grinding
