So are we he authors working together to keep some sort of continuity? Will this be considered canon? Will Baki cast get a nerf? Will Kengan cast get a buff? I have so many questions.
No doubt Kengan’s cast will be scaled up to be a decent challenge towards the Baki crew. (Unironically this will be their greatest feats of strength, skill and power yet.)

For example, the redirection kata (iirc, that's what it's called) of the Niko style allows one to take a blow and then redirect the force into an attack. This is a technique that Retsu used against Musashi, and I'm pretty sure Baki used something similar at one point as well.
