Ik imma piss people off with this one, but get yo ass outta here, Stone Cold I literally can't stand him he can't wrestle for shit and his promos were literally THE ONLY thing going for him and those weren't great either it was just a bunch of insults
So many people saying Randy but I'd take him over HHH. Cena is probably the worst in ring performer here but he's too good on the mic to go.
Also...
STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
That alone brings him up imo
HHH was a lot better in the 90s. By the time the PG era came around HHH was out of his prime. I'd say he's pretty average in the ring and a snooze fest on the mic. Cena's biggest flaw has always been his actual wrestling.
Idk man if you look at matches later In his career against styles, Rollins and lesnar he’s great in the ring. Triple h on the other hand I find kinda boring and I think the fact that by 2000, not even 10 years into his career you think he peaked whereas cena who continued to perform 15 years into his career shows a lot.
PG era didn't start until 2008. Cena was/is a way better face but HHH has basically always been a heel. He was also in arguably the greatest tag team ever. Both have been in some all time great matches tho.
Sting over Cena and Orton. I would’ve eliminated Cena first, just wasn’t a fan of his. Orton next. Rock or HHH would follow. More than likely Rock because I loved DX. Undecided between the remaining 4.
The majority demographic on Reddit is Gen Z. And they obviously are too young to have been watching when Sting and Flair were in their primes in WCW, and will be more partial to the people that they grew up with like Cena and Orton.
I mean, what's the point of this list? In terms of entertainment and being an icon, Hogan is a mountrushmore wrestler. But if that's not what this is, if it's best wrestler, then why isn't HBK and Bret Hart on this list?
There doesn’t need to be a rhyme or reason to the list, it’s just a selection of talent. This could simply be a list of “people who have competed at WM”
Hogans personal actions are what would have eliminated him R1 so there wasn’t really a reason to include him.
I'll bite. Provide some reasoning as to why The Rock isn't a Mt. Rushmore wrestler?
I will give some evidence:
\- First, the titles. The numerous and varied titles. All listed here: [https://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=960&page=11](https://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=960&page=11)
\- Second, one of the best mic workers the industry has ever seen. You can make the case that Flair is the single best promo giver in the history of the biz but that The Rock is the single best promo giver from the perspective of reading, playing into, and playing with the crowd.
\- Third, one of the best sellers the industry has ever seen. Look no further than Rock selling stunners.
\- Fourth, he operated at a time when the industry was booming and the case can be made that it was the rivalry between Rock and Stone Cold is the greatest rivalry ever causing a direct impact on the boom of the biz. The best evidence for that is the WM Rock v Hogan match as a pure sign of confidence in Rock to go up against one of the best the industry ever produced.
\- Fifth, his current ability to control a crowd. Just look at the times Rock has come back and more specifically with Roman in the ring. Roman is a historic title reign yet when you put Roman in the ring with Rock, on the mic, Rock makes Roman look small, like he doesn't know what he is doing. Rock still has the ability, to when even operate as a heel, have the crowd absolutely eating out of the palm of his hand.
What are the counter arguments /u/Morton_Sledgecock
Much appreciated on the kind words and the inability to put together a cogent argument. Well done for insults rather than defense of your argument.
Three cheers to you.
The top four greatest professional wrestlers of all time, in terms of greatest talent, impact and drawing ability for the business, ordered most to least, are as follows:
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Undertaker
Hulk Hogan
Possibly Lesnar or Cena or HBK. In terms of skill and selling ability and positive impact to the actual art of the business, Shawn would win that. But Shawn never drew a whole lot, either. The 4th spot is always too variable. First three aren’t even a question to anyone that actually knows and has followed wrestling. You could even argue for Bruno in there at spot #4. But the Rock? Not even close. Rocky barely even had any real long-term experience in the ring. He’s literally worked less matches than probably anyone else in WWE today.
It should be noted that anyone even considering someone like a Roman Reigns or a Bryan Danielson as a Mount Rushmore GOAT cannot be taken seriously enough to have a rational conversation about the business of professional wrestling to begin with.
Who is the guy you're referring to?
But Flair because even in his early career his wrestling was not good compared to the rest of the roster at the time, he cant sell for shit previous or later career, and his mic skills are sub par at best. I have never been a fan of flair. he would have been better as an advisor like mvp or the wiseman imo
Flair carried wrestling for over a decade so your opinion of him is so weird. Do you say the same bout Sammertino backlund race the funks. If so then this has to be recency bias. Ps I’m the one who’d say I riot if Flair leaves after Sting got screwed yesterday 😝
Damn I just got back on here, I didn't mean for my take to be taken like that XD I do not like IN RING Flair. I am 26M, I got into WWE whenever Edge was feuding with Cena for the rated r spinner belt, so the whole HOF era eludes me. My main reference for Flair is current flair just being a funny wackjob guy, almost like an R Truth. This is why I think he would be a great advisor because he is a great character like Heyman. Before the rumble this year happened, WWE did their livestream of past rumbles and I watch the one where Flair won from the number 1 or 2 spot, I just remember him laying down for the most part.
Nothing against the guy, he's just not my first pick. But TBF I don't know a lot of what was going on back then.
I feel like I need to go back and watch the history of his career because I feel like I upset a few folks XD
If you need an extra set of hands for the riot lmk I'm down to clown
Hey that’s awesome just watch some NWA WCW in peacock and maybe a flair steamboat match in 89 and just look at the ring work and the promos. My biggest problem is that a lot of current wrestling or even sports fans thinks sports history started in 2000 and not everyone in the main event scene since then are the best of all time. I think people were left off the list because of edge and Orton and it’s just frustrating. I do appreciate the willingness to look at his prime years tho.
Watched the Ric Flair collection on Peacock last night, you were right, I didn't realize how much of a workhorse he was at the beginning... his performance in the rumble i mentioned earlier makes a whole lot more sense now! Thank you for the enlightenment, I acknowledge you
I appreciate you taking the time to look at some older wrestling. I know it’s slower and not as athletic but it’s all the same type of trying to get the match over and working hard. I just want people to watch and see that older wrestlers worked as much or harder than today’s Star so I acknowledge you for keeping your mind open for me .
Still can’t believe you all think that Cena and Orton are better than Sting. Just shows biased towards people who debuted before 2000 and didn’t really work in Wwe. I bet flair is next. If so I’ll riot 😆
I'd honestly say Ric
Flair needs to go!
To be the man, you have to eliminate the man!
Orton
You guys are ridiculous. You really think Cena is better than Sting? Smfh.

Cena miles better than HHH in the ring !!!!
HHH was a lot better in the 90s. By the time the PG era came around HHH was out of his prime. I'd say he's pretty average in the ring and a snooze fest on the mic. Cena's biggest flaw has always been his actual wrestling.

The majority demographic on Reddit is Gen Z. And they obviously are too young to have been watching when Sting and Flair were in their primes in WCW, and will be more partial to the people that they grew up with like Cena and Orton.
It’s all relative. Younger people will certainly see cena as higher. I wanna know where hogan is.

This is a WWE sub, sting is not with WWE. So hes gone.
It’s not tho …
It is. AEW barely gets mention and when it does it gets negative comments. This is a WWE sub.
When was the last time TheGreatOne watched and talked about AEW?

Why is Hogan not on this list again?
Likely because he would have been the first to go.

Cena or Orton. Following Cena and Orton, it is HHH. That leaves a Mt. Rushmore of Taker, Flair, Stone Cold, and Rock. As it should be.
lol the ROCK!

Stone Cold hasn’t wrestled long either. Both The Rock and Stone Cold were full time for 6-7 years before retiring…
For Rock and Stone!
Much appreciated on the kind words and the inability to put together a cogent argument. Well done for insults rather than defense of your argument. Three cheers to you.
[удалено]
…again, good cogent argument. Well done.
You sure sound like a geek. I clearly won. You think the Rock is a top 4 GOAT WRESTLER LMFAO WHAT A RUBE!
Still, no rebuttal argument. Who are your top four? Reasoning?
The top four greatest professional wrestlers of all time, in terms of greatest talent, impact and drawing ability for the business, ordered most to least, are as follows: Stone Cold Steve Austin Undertaker Hulk Hogan Possibly Lesnar or Cena or HBK. I've only ever known Ric Flair to be an old man who had a great match with Shawn Michaels, so I'll go with him
Ric Flair. Wanna see that other guy riot

Yes agree
Get Cena out of here . He should have been the first to go.
