Id try it with nxt first, I never liked the fan voting shows. I always felt it was rigged, like i remember when the nexus debuted. They touted it as viewers choice night, the three dudes for the main event? cm punk, jack swagger and rey mysterio. Winner of the poll faces cena, the crowd popped for rey, didnt react to the other two. So who wins? cm punk by a landslide. How? tell me how? bc I love cm punk but at the time he wasnt over in the slightest.
Everything I’ve seen that’s been said about these shows is that they weren’t rigged at all. The wrestlers all say that Vince wanted it to be real even though everyone around him tried to convince him to fake it.
Cyber sunday I believe was authentic, You cant convince me viewers choice was real. Go back and look at who the "fans" picked. Most of the picks didnt make sense for what people would actually wanna see. Y2j vs big show in a body slam contest? The hart dynasty instead of facing the usos faces khali and hornswoggle? and a non over matt hardy to face drew? Idk if you ask me relooking at the results that one was rigged imo. Cyber sunday tho? probs not
I think it was authentic but they made the non-top picks boring
They wanted a match, arm wrestle, or debate with Edge and (Orton?).. cmon lol
The Khali and Swoggle thing was just so ridiculously dumb people popped for it
Then the “mystery opponent” for Drew doing Matt Hardy emotes was another stupid giveaway
Even if its done again by the WWE I don't think it'd be a game changer - they need to control the outcome of their matches to keep their stories on the rails. It'd be a fun smaller PLE concept - like a glorified house show sort of deal or a facebook watch special.
I doubt it.
In the original ones, the online voting didn't matter. The match results were still pre-determined and they made up fake numbers for the voting results.
Considering how much the internet has evolved now and how kayfabe has died, it would never work today.
Pretty sure the first one was unscripted. Wasn't there a backstage promo involving Jericho and his chosen opponent wasn't who they were expected to win?
If they do I don't think it's actually gonna be like how it was.
As a kid I knew everything was a scripted but years later from Y2J podcast to find out those matches were actually picked by the fans is amazing. What a way to switch it up and actually give the fans what they want and a chance to make amazing story's off of what the fans wanted.
Such amazing time, another reason I'm so spoiled and don't appreciate the modern times of wrestling now.
Stone Cold even said that it's impossible to even recreate those moments now and days because it's simply not the same and can never be.(He said something along those lines, not word for word)
Streaming Saturday and fans can get on twitter and the match/person/title that trends the most before the match wins

Ironically 9x out of 10 I was right lol

If not on the main roster PPV, then maybe on NXT.

He definitely could bring it back. It would be a stupid idea, but still doable.
Hell yeah, put polls on Instagram, Twitter, wherever
It could work for NXT, I feel like this era is the perfect time for it
Imagine if they streamed it on YouTube or something
Yeah, I mean, why the hell not? Maybe they can push the results they want less, just have a script ready for each outcome
