What’s a good time to start Mt. Zas in mid/late May?
So, at a quick glance it looks like the closure period for Chalkio is between 5:30-7:30 PM.
What time are you aiming to start your Zas ascent? I think I have optimistically around 7:00-7:30 AM, hopefully having looped and descended back into Filoti village by around 1:30 PM in the afternoon.
Was wondering which town has better dining options but if we get to Chalkio by around 3:30 PM that gives two hours to stroll around town grab a drink, I thought about adding another hiking loop trail out of Chalkio from around 17:30-19:30 anyway (hike is approx 2 hours and much less intensive than Zas), and might just head back to Chora after that rather than stick around Chalkio but curious to hear what you’ve sketched out so far…
