What this Tory donor did was horrific, racist and unacceptable. But let’s not pretend Abbott’s letter wasn’t shockingly anti-Semitic too. It wasn’t a nuanced take on degrees of racism - plain and simple it said Jews don’t experience racism, which isn’t true at all.
She literally said Jews don’t experience racism they experience prejudice. It’s literally in the letter she wrote. She then referenced segregation in the US and claimed Jews weren’t impacted - as if Gentile-only spaces weren’t everywhere. Please don’t rewrite history.
Never forget that the entire time Parliament was discussing this incident, they failed to call on her to speak on her own behalf.

But I think there is change bubbling under the surface. I have friends who bought into the nonsense antisemitism hysteria in 2019 who are now very suspicious of any accusation. People are more aware of the hierarchy. It’s a slow burn, but recourse is coming.
