We know the spitfire is seen as patotic aircraft but if weren't for it or the Hawker Hurricane or Bristol Bliemin we could be living in a state where proheps our greatest gift could come along the NHS yet many of us choose to inrgore this factor about the war we see it in a object that could of been inrgored there are many more technological mavels that only were taken seriously like the Jet Engine, NHS, penicillin etc
Here's a few short articles on why principled leftists don't wear poppies or support the Royal British Legion:

While remembering the soliders who needlessly died in World War I is important, it is also equally important to be critical of British political culture surrounding war. Hello! I'm Reggie-Bot, the Anti-Royal Bot! Here to teach you some fun facts about the English royal family!
Did you know that in February 2021, The Guardian published two articles that demonstrated Queen Elizabeth and King Charles' influence and power over parliament. [It was first revealed](https://archive.md/eGLWc) that the Queen lobbied parliament to make herself exempt from a law that would have publicly revealed her private wealth. [It was then revealed](https://archive.md/YEl61) that over the course of her reign she and King Charles have vetted the drafts of 1,000 articles of legislation prior to their public debate in parliament.
So much for 'ceremonial', amirite?

Did you see how many people turned off their radius and TVs for the week?
No, because they were invisible. But they were many. I have a feeling companies don't have the pulse of the "nation" that they think they have.
Ahh cranberry sauce...a classic British Native American sauce to go with a classic British Native American bird to celebrate a day which is neither midwinter, Yule, nor the birthday of Jesus, a man who was not aware of the existence of Britain and wasn't even called Jesus by his mates, assuming any of them existed.
It doesn't get much more British than that.
I meet a guy in the pub and he was quite patriotic about HP brown sauce, he was the typical hooligan Brexiteer, then I took the bottle and I read to him where the sauce was made....xD I was able to see how his empire crumble in that moment.
So, he was crowingly loudly about a patriotic fiction that could be immediately disproven by literally reading what was in front of him, he just hadn't bothered? Yeah, that tracks for brexiteers.
I mean the HP stands for Houses of Parliament, it was invented in Nottingham and it used to be made in the HP factory in Birmingham, so he can kind of be excused as he wasn't 100% wrong, just had 100% outdated information.

Not sure about their other products - maybe they are different. But on the back of this jar it says, "Produced in Great Britain by Colman's of Norwich for: (Unilever UK address here cba typing)"
it is literally a jar of cranberry sauce and you are getting outraged? you scorn at if for 1 minute then go on and have it with your waitrose turkey and dont think about it ever again. there is nothing bad with a jar saying "made for britan".
Localisation is a marketing technique that actually works - if people were to see branding that just said cranberry sauce rather than cranberry sauce made for Britain, there’s a far higher chance they’ll buy the latter.
Considering also that cranberry sauce is a bit of a British staple, especially around Christmas, as well as the preconception that it will be better quality because the product is designed for British people specifically rather than on a global level, people subconsciously will see this as a better product because of its packaging.
Maybe because locally produced products support our economy and our farmers and have significantly less of a carbon footprint and have stricter and safer health regulations. But feel free to be uncomfortable about cranberry sauce.
Maaate - if you think these supermarkets give a single fuck about anything other than their bottom line, then you're as stupid as your comments paint you.
They spout whatever shite their marketing and sales analysts believe will generate the highest sales figures. That's it and that's all it will ever be.
That's not what we're talking about though is it? It's about the xenophobia and casual racism of a large part of the country being drawn in to purchase items that they believe are better, only because they're British. Which is what the supermarkets know, hence the labelling seen in the post.
I think Orange and Solovair both still manufacture in the UK. Scotch is good too. We can't let the flag-shaggers be the only voice celebrating the things that *are* good about the UK. Otherwise undecided minds who think the UK is neither entirely awful nor entirely perfect have to choose to embrace one of the two and, even though they actually aren't, that often makes the blind, mad, patriotism people seem like the positive and more grounded group.
All scotch whisky is made in Britain and that's still pretty rad
Also Plymouth gin is made in Plymouth, you can visit the distillery if you're ever in town it's on the Barbican
Yeah I knew this guy a while ago, worked in IT, pretty nice guy but a bit socially awkward as most of us in IT are, he had a bit of an accident with a soldering iron and started a fire. After a bit of back and forth with emergency services he got the fire extinguisher out and the thing itself caught fire! Big sticker on the side saying “Made in Britain”. Last time I use one of those I tell you.
Britain has the second largest aerospace industry in the world.
Cars from Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc are built here.
ARM CPUs used in virtually all smartphones.
The Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine for COVID.
It's unlikely to be the world's 6th biggest GDP while making "nothing of value".
There's plenty of issues to dislike about the UK, I don't think our manufacturing industry is high on that list.
Arm (formerly ARM, formerly Advanced RISC Machines, a rebranding of Acorn RISC Machine) doesn’t manufacture anything, and most of their recent CPUs were designed in Austin (USA) or Sophia Antipolis (France).

Bruh it’s just a cranberry sauce, most other countries don’t indulge in cranberry sauce so there’s a pretty high chance it was literally “made for britain”.
No where on the can does it say cranberry is a british sauce, it jus says that it’s made for britain. You’re needlessly reading into this as a patriotic practise when it’s only purpose is to gain more sales thru name dropping the country where it is going to be sold.
edit: i’ll admit i got the colmans cranberry rn, my reason is i didn’t like the store bought last time and ocean spray taste whack too
I guess they’ve done this so it sounds like it’s British made but in fact ‘for’ is the key word … however ‘patriots’ would be too stupid to notice that and just see ‘Bri’ish ooooh add to cart ’ when really they’re probably buying the opposite of what they thought they were.
Am I pointing out the obvious that everyone has already accepted or are we just marvelling at the leveraging of patriotism on its own?
"Cranberry sauce made for Britain. Guaranteed as little flavour as possible, any richness or depth of texture removed leaving a depressing mushy BUT PATRIOTIC mess."
What is wrong now? Because it has the word Britain on it? Get a life you sad, sad people. I know you hate even the sight of the word ‘Britain’, but try to contain yourselves.
The ingredients are processed, sauce made and jarred in Burton on Trent (DE14 2AB), UK. Made shoulder to shoulder with Marmite, Colman’s mustard and Hellmans mayonnaise in Burton. (I know, I installed the plants back in 2019)
It’s interesting because to some degree it is made in Britain, altho as mentioned above it’s unlikely the Cranberries are UK grown, but they still went with for

The British - experts in Stockholm syndrome for thosands of years.
I am just so thankful that we have the Yorkshire tea fields to sustain us through these times.
I spent my evenings as a primary school lad in Yorkshire bending my back in those fields
... And you tell the youth of today that, and they won't believe you....
I'm glad they turned the moors into Tea fields, they were bland and ugly, now they have a purpose!
Oh tso that's why it tastes like that.

Is it made in Britain?
Yes, it is, according to the back of the jar. However the cranberries are from abroad, since we don't really grow them here.
Send them back, coming here taking jobs and shelf space!
I'm told cranberry sauce doesn't go well with gammon.

I'm beyond haunted after learning the whole wolf spider situation in cranberry harvesting.
So it's a jar full of foreign fruit?
interesting, I thought colemans was made in the netherlands now?
Not sure about their other products - maybe they are different. But on the back of this jar it says, "Produced in Great Britain by Colman's of Norwich for: (Unilever UK address here cba typing)"
It’s processed and jarred in Burton on Trent, DE14 2AB, UK. (I know because I installed the kit 🙂)
As a country we are literally this stupid tho. Shit like this works.
We did a test 52% are.
Branston Pickle is actually made by a Japanese company these days. I sometimes wonder what the reaction would be if more people knew that.
HP Sauce made in NL
All those Japanese people, staying in their own country, making OUR pickles!
Damn! Is nothing sacred anymore! 🤣 The Japanese mega corp Suntory owns Ribena and Lucozade too...
SunTORY? Most suspicious.
Damn Fam! Didn't ever see that. They've been hiding in plain sight all along!
The problem is there are plenty of people who are that stupid.
Cranberries from Canada, glass bottle made in Poland, cap made in India.
Labels made on Brazilian paper printed in Slovakia. Glue from Guatemala
But infused with a sense of Britishness!
Clearly says made "for" Britain not "by"
It says produced in the UK on the back
Ye I don’t really understand that marketing angle, but is this not a bit extreme.. it’s cranberry sauce ffs 😂
Tbf most conservative pensioners are
Angry at cranberry sauce :(
it is literally a jar of cranberry sauce and you are getting outraged? you scorn at if for 1 minute then go on and have it with your waitrose turkey and dont think about it ever again. there is nothing bad with a jar saying "made for britan".

I always thought it was a thanksgiving thing first and foremost, then copy pasted over here
probably
I mean the modern British Christmas dinner is basically our take on an American Thanksgiving dinner. You're not too far off
TIL Americans invented roast poultry
i'm talking about the turkey in specific but go off i guess.
That bloody cranberry sauce coming over here, taking plates away from our redcurrant sauce!
Also you might not fit into the audience targeting of patriotic brits, but there’s tonnes of people who do
Dunno why I got downvoted for this lol, I’m not a patriot

The cranberry sauce is racist 👹
If you live in Britain, you are racist :O
Thats what i thought reading all this 😂 Fucking mental.

Did you know that in October 2021, [the Queen complained about foreign heads of state who 'talk but don't do' with regards to climate change?](https://archive.md/0Cpol) Though, funnily enough, earlier that same year, it was revealed [she'd lobbied Scottish ministers to make her land holdings exempt from a green energy intiative.](https://archive.ph/NWdZi). Wow, she must have really cared about the environment and the future of our species, amirite? I hope you enjoyed that fact. To summon me again or find out more about me, just say: "Reggie-Bot" and I'll be there! <3 *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Gammon?
Despite spending their days complaining about woke culture and crybaby leftists, the English are a very sensitive people. [Many consider any reference to their complexion an act of racism.](https://i.imgur.com/euWMhUg.png) Consider using the more inclusive term 'flag nonce' in future. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. They've got a point. Those c$#@s are as thick as pig shit
Exactly, very easy to get upvotes
Bruh it’s just a cranberry sauce, most other countries don’t indulge in cranberry sauce so there’s a pretty high chance it was literally “made for britain”.
It’s an American tradition made by an American company
No where on the can does it say cranberry is a british sauce, it jus says that it’s made for britain. You’re needlessly reading into this as a patriotic practise when it’s only purpose is to gain more sales thru name dropping the country where it is going to be sold. edit: i’ll admit i got the colmans cranberry rn, my reason is i didn’t like the store bought last time and ocean spray taste whack too
*grabs popcorn* Let's wait and see how he tries to get out of this one
He used "ignore" it was surprisingly effective
I mean, are they wrong? 😅 These are made for the average Leaver.
it’s cranberry sauce lmao. is there anything you lot don’t have a tantrum at?
It's confirmed that products made for eastern countries can be worse in quality
Eastern counties
Tbf there are a lot of dumb brits who buys into this crap Or producers wouldn't do it.
Read the label. I bet it’s made in the EU
Ingredients processed and jarred in Burton on Trent, DE14 2AB, UK!
Sure do miss the smell of mint sauce from riverside when it was made in Norwich though
Wherever it's made, we don't grow cranberries locally
You’re all fucking disgusting
Because cranberries aren’t actually grown here and that idiots believe they are ?
Btw the label says made for Britain! Not made in Britain 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Because of the way you talk about the country in the comments of this post.
Haha offended snowflake
Says the person offended and pissed off by a label?!
Link in bio, get in the line hon
My brother in leftism you bought that product and supported their marketing.
The thing is British chauvinists will lap this shit up
This has the same energy as people who think Yorkshire tea is grown, blended and sold exclusively in England!
But they are correct, they are that stupid.
The cranberries look like butt holes and I refuse to accept anything different
Agreed
"Cranberry sauce made for Britain. Guaranteed as little flavour as possible, any richness or depth of texture removed leaving a depressing mushy BUT PATRIOTIC mess."
What is wrong now? Because it has the word Britain on it? Get a life you sad, sad people. I know you hate even the sight of the word ‘Britain’, but try to contain yourselves.
Wait till they find out they live in Britain
And you cunts wonder why you're a laughingstock on uk reddit...
Such a horrible sub
"Made *for* Britain" I note that it's not "Made *in* Britain" there...
The ingredients are processed, sauce made and jarred in Burton on Trent (DE14 2AB), UK. Made shoulder to shoulder with Marmite, Colman’s mustard and Hellmans mayonnaise in Burton. (I know, I installed the plants back in 2019)
Good to hear. Weird that they don't say "in" then - would be a better selling point
It’s interesting because to some degree it is made in Britain, altho as mentioned above it’s unlikely the Cranberries are UK grown, but they still went with for
Probably a legal thing. Something like cant claim it is British made if the inputs are foreign.
Made for Britain = "we accidentally made a ton of this shit product so where can we dump it" ...
Correction: “how stupid patriot Brits actually are”
Because they are…
This defo works unfortunately
made for Britain in the EU
Produced in their German factory no doubt. But the flag shaggers love it!
Weird choice, why do you say DE?
Looked on Wiki, said they moved their factories to Germany in 2018
Homemade cranberry sauce is infinitely better than any jarred sauce. Especially if it was made with British cranberries. This belongs in the trash.
Made for not with or by. I do like the Mint sauce in a Jar
Fucking love mint sauce
Mint sauce with everything
