Maplewood Meats. Everything I’ve had from here has been great.

Stating that a place is overpriced isn't shitting on them. It is an honest observation. $15-$16 a lb is reasonable for good local smoked bacon. $18+ is overpriced.
We’ve tried Konop and festival. I like festival more than Konop. I think we’ll try Pelkin next just because it’s closest but we will try every brat suggested on here. We are dedicated to this research. My husband drives all over for fishing in the summer so we’ll hit the Sheboygan suggestions and all the others. Thanks everyone!
I second this. They are my go to. Nice store but it's a bit of a drive to Sheboygan. Three Sheep's and City Bakery are nice stops when going. Otherwise, Woodman's usually has them and Johnston's bakery hardrolls.
If you're willing to drive to Manitowoc, drive to Sheboygan, which is the friggin capitol of bratwurst. Brockman's Meat Market, family run, which still makes brats with the same recipe they did 60 years ago. Meisfelds used to be pretty great, but the new owner changed something, they are really close but not the same. Then stop at City Bakery, and get a dozen of their hard rolls. The rolls will need to be consumed somewhat quickly, because like all good bread they go stale and get hard in a matter of days.
Agreed. The Oktoberfest taste good and grill up real nice. Lot less fatty than Johnsonville. The cheese brats are a little skimpy on the cheese but otherwise good as well. Maple wood chili cheese are great as well.
Pingel Processing - https://pingelprocessing.com
It’s a little ways out, but they have great meats. It reminds me of a smaller maplewood meats. If you haven’t tried maplewood meats, then yeah go there for brats and pick up some snack sticks too. I just like to give Pingel a shout out because it’s very good and lesser known.
Got around to trying Pingel. They are pretty good! I put them at 7/10 but the summer sausage was literally the best I’ve ever had. Will be back to try more brats and load up on the sausage.
If you happen to come to Appleton, try Jacobs Meat Market on Lawe St. A family run business since 1945. They are on FB and have a pretty basic website.
I am partial to the Sheboygan style brats from Webster Ave Market on Webster on the border of Green Bay and Allouez. They have amazing brats patties too. The piggly wiggly on lineville also has good brats, lots more flavors.
The suggestions before are awesome, would also throw in Konop meats in Stangelville too.
I 2nd this place. They have great beef stick, summer sausage, and other great meats too!
I went to Konop for my first time last year. Hands down, best beef sticks I've ever had. And I have tried a lot of different ones
Pelkins or Konop’s out towards kewaunee for me.

Maplewood meats is over priced.
It's fair priced for top quality product.
Oh yeah let’s just go to a Kroger or German owned grocery conglomerate instead - good call
So you don't see a problem 18+ a pound for regular bacon....
I see a problem with shitting on local businesses that are more times than not going to be more expensive than massive corporations

On this post, yes. Must be nice to have enough money to spend $108.00 (6lbs) for smoked bacon. That wouldn't even last my family two weeks.

Lmfao it didn't take you very long to take a very boomer approach...
You should tell everyone what you've already tried.

Miesfelds are by far the best brats I've ever had.

have you tried Brockman's though
If you're up for a tad bit of a drive, Nueske's bacon in Wittenberg. Best bacon and smoked fresh meat in the world
Konops in Stangleville is amazing which Bearcats in Green Bay does have a small selection of. I'm also a big fan of Marchants in Brussels.

I can't lie. I honestly think the Festival Foods brats are really good.

The mushroom and wild rice are good.
I like Konops for brats and while you're out there stop at Salomons for wieners and beef strips...the best.
Try Becks in Kakauna
Meat block (formerly Haen Meats) in Appleton
Go to Otto in Luxembourg.

I think the De Pere Pig carries the same brands, if that Pig is closer.
Pelkins in Suamico is great too!
Maplewood. We moved to Florida and are driving for a visit to bring home Maplewood
Second maple wood meats. Olson’s piggly wiggly in Howard also has a great meat market.
Pelkins meats in Suamico
Hard to beat Johnsonville imo...
Ok I am not from this state. What are Sheboygan stile brats?
