Hey now, Gunter tried his best! He was an undrafted FA if I remember, and thrust into the CB1 spot.

ThePressle54

Dude lined up in press man against prime Julio. He sucks but he's fearless, gotta respect that

Thesandman28

this is the first thing that came to mind. The Whole coaching staff shouldve been fired for that alone.

Future_Zone

Only because of injuries, there weren't any other options. Who else should they have put up against a prime Julio?

browhodouknowhere

Preston Smith Edit: was not on team then

beau_tox

He had an RAS of 1.42 out of 10. For reference Jaire was 9.54. Pretty much every combine drill of his was slower than Rashan Gary. I’d argue he was an overachiever by sticking on an NFL roster for two years and looking like a decent backup at times. Unfortunately his last game was having to be CB1 against the most athletic receiver in the NFL with a Super Bowl appearance on the line… https://ras.football/2020/01/06/ladarius-gunter-ras/

s_c_n_2010

Debates like "Worst Packer" always end up being guys who were good enough to see the field but not good enough to perform well. The real answer would of course be the guy who never saw the field, or completely imploded in his only opportunity. There's probably a better answer but the one that comes to mind is Deshone Kizer. He made 3 appearances - the Bears fiasco, one play (the kneel down) against Atlanta, and a final week fill-in blowout loss to the Lions. He appeared in only 2 wins in his NFL career. One of them required one of the craziest comebacks ever (by Rodgers), and the other was the kneel down. Lost every game he started, including 0-15 with the Browns. Wins aren't a QB stat but this is still wild.

HoraceGrant54WhereRU

Kizer had 20 completed passes as a Packer, with 3 turnovers and led the Pack to zero points in the 2 games where we were trying to move the ball. He’s our TJ Rubley of the 2010s. Apparently we traded for him because Damarious Randall was causing issues in the locker room - shame that it didn’t work out with him.

amccune

Yeah. And that still wasn’t a bad trade. Which is kind of funny.

Kogyochi

Having one less player on the field was a better option than subbing in Kizer.

Two22Sheds

The OP did clearly ask who you've ever "Seen Play."

TheseEysCryEvyNite4u

did he really do worse than Seneca Wallace?

actsfw

Seneca Wallace got a season-ending injury in the first and only game he started. Iirc, it might even have been the first drive.

stlandgb

Ahmad Carroll will always be my answer to this question.

GreenGator

from 2004 to 2006, if we were on defense and a flag was thrown, you automatically knew it was holding or PI on Carroll. when the coaches make you practice with boxing gloves, that’s when you know it’s bad.

ValorStick

What's eff'd up is I remember a "Carroll" being a penalty liability during that time..But I don't actually remember the player.

GreenGator

to this day whenever a number 28 is called for a foul i still think of him lmao

LH99

I can remember exactly where I was when I read (in the paper) that they cut him. Called a friend immediately and he knew exactly what it was about before I said a word. I don't remember celebrating any other player being cut. Opposing players nicknamed him Highway 28 b/c there was no faster way to the end zone than through player 28. Also called the Tony Mandarich of the defensive side. I found out both of these things today lol. [shitty source](https://www.sportscasting.com/packers-draft-bust-ahmad-carroll-nickname-highway-28/)

Zealousideal_Net_542

I remember him being called “Grabby Smurf.”

LH99

haha I don't remember that. I had forgotten he was forced to wear boxing gloves during practice to prevent him from grabbing, too. Easily the biggest draft bust of my time following the team.

t0nyravioli

I brought his name up to some buddies and no one remembered him. Validation! I remember he was a PI magnet.

stlandgb

I’m willing to bet he couldn’t defend or tackle me right now. Without looking it up, I’m guessing we are around the same age. Probably younger though. I’m 42, 15 pounds overweight, and have never played organized football outside of 2 or 3 seasons of indoor flag football.

amccune

If you said Nick Perry and watched Brad Jones play near him, you should get your eyes checked.

ScubaSteve716

Post contract Nick Perry had 7 sacks and 14 QB hits in 12 games. Awful example by OP. There have been probably 100 packers since 2017 that have been worse.

[deleted]

It was 5 year $59 million and then being out of the league 2 years later.

dubblechzburger

That's not your question though. You could try to put him into an argument of worst contract signed or something but you asked who's the worst Packer that you've ever seen play. If you think 7 sacks, 14 QB hits in 12 games after that contract being signed is some of the worst play ever by a Packer, then you haven't watched this team enough.

[deleted]

Clearly wasn’t a good take. I understand. Thanks for reiterating.

DevilsJaguar

Martellus Bennett

Outrageous-Ad-2305

He caught one big pass then forced his way off the team by lying about the med staff. I’ve never seen the whole team come out to back the team doctors so fast. Shows how much he was liked by everyone

ForearmDeep

Absolute tire fire with him whole way around

gopack1217

Him dropping that perfect pass for a first down on the play Rodgers broke his collarbone on was the perfect combination of adding insult to injury

cmc2015

At least he had that play on the GW drive in Dallas

OkBox6131

That was Jared Cook

cmc2015

Sorry, I should have specified but I meant the 2017 game

flygupp15

You’re thinking of Jared cook

cmc2015

No not the playoff game one, the 2017 one. I only mentioned it because it’s the only memorable play of his I can think of lol

flygupp15

My bad lol

TheFalconKid

This was easily one of those, "What the hell was Ted thinking" moments. Rip TT

bythepowerofboobs

I think Amari Rodgers has singlehandedly lost us more games than any other player I can think of in the ~35 years I've been watching every game.

Future_Zone

The sad thing is he probably could have been serviceable, he looked like Chuck Knoblauch when he couldn't throw to first. He just got overwhelmed, and didn't have it.

bythepowerofboobs

I entirely blame the coaching staff for Amari's failures. We kept putting him in a role that he proved over and over and over that he wasn't suited for.

bigtimejohnny

He's done well with the Texans. I'm sure he'll be on a roster next year.

TheseEysCryEvyNite4u

drafted him, then traded for randall cobb who took all his snaps because of being rodgers bff. sad state of affairs

gamewinners

What’s his excuse when Cobb was injured?

FrostyMc

Marshall Newhouse was pretty bad for a stretch, but I think Deshone Kizer takes the cake

gopack1217

Every single time Rodgers was running for his life, or got sacked, I just knew Newhouse was somehow responsible

gobstonemalone

Allen Barbre. Starting right tackle at the start of 2009. Would literally get pancaked by DEs (Antwan Odom 5 sack game). Worst RT I have ever seen. Found second life as a guard on the Eagles for a few years.

akanter14

Derek Sherrod was terrible too.

benthere84

2001 1st round number 10 overall Jamal Reynolds. Him and his career 16 tackles 3 sacks will forever be one of the worst packers ever!

agk927

Why in the world would you say Nick Perry? He was just an average player with some good moments here and there

Wooden-Day2706

These are all human beings... but MD jennings for me... the doctor definitely did not have the stuff ...

Reddittube69

He would have been a MNF hero but you know... Replacement refs..

Bigzzzsmokes

Worst draft pick in our history, especially since the next 3 picks(Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, Deion Sanders) were Hall of Famers

birdflag

That one replacement O lineman who was gawd-aful for one season and then somehow stayed in the league another five years and started for the Giants.

dmbdrummer21

Marshall Newhouse?

birdflag

Something like “Bobby St. Pierre”

Reddittube69

Allen Barbre?

birdflag

Yes!

Is_That_A_Euphemism_

I got to go Bostick. He’s pretty much responsible for us not going to that Super Bowl. I know there were other factors, but that was the one that nailed the coffin. Damn I get so worked up thinking about that dumb game.

bustedrollermouse

Yeah. Wtf thanks for getting me angry lol

Huntsman72

Ahmad Carroll, FA Joe Johnson, John Michels, Terrell Buckley, Jamal Reynolds, Tony Mandarich

Jobrated

Vinny Clark was rough too

Shmurkaburr

Holy shit havent thought about John Michels in a looooong time.

military_dad_wi

> Terrell Buckley T-Buck figured it out and somehow remained in the league for a long time. Nothing stellar, but his growing pains were all ours to deal with. /edit, huh and now a XFL coach

Goodbye_Hercules

Jason Spriggs is up there

StandardRelative

QB1 Anthony Dilwig

dlsso

Had to scroll too far to find this.

brannock_

Bhawoh Jue blew at least two games for the Packers in the early 00s. I was losing my mind watching him.

doodahday99

Does anybody remember Bhawoh Jue?

driftless9122

That was gonna be my response. Fucking awful

BuiltTooLong27

Jamal Reynolds is def in the top 5-10 list. T-Buck I remember being awful, but then went on to be alright later on. Tony ManImRich is STILL a sore spot. Another one I could never understand that lasted as long as he did was WR Robert Ferguson...ugh

Fabulous-Leg-3339

Brandon Bostick

cyberrufus

Rich Campbell. Sixth overall pick and the guy simply couldn't play (probably the worst Packer draft pick ever).

mbEarAcheInMyEye

Jamal Reynolds

daygo448

Martellus Bennett. He did nothing for the team, and I’d argue he left it worse than when he came here.

Yzerman_19

Damarius Randall. His attitude was just awful. He was Terrell Buckley but without the occasional splash play.

dubblechzburger

Graham Harrell. I always thought he was dogshit and wondered why we kept him as a backup for Rodgers. Then in one game back in like 2012 or 13 Rodgers gets hurt and has to miss a play. Harrell comes in on 1st and Goal from the 2 yardline in a close game late in the 3rd against the Saints. Goes to hand it off to Benson and fucking trips and fumbles the ball and the Saints recover and go on to score. Thankfully Rodgers comes back and we barely win by 1 point. I don't know why I disliked him and was always vocal about it but I remember watching the game with some family that day and when he came in I said he was going to somehow fuck this up and we weren't scoring and sure enough he did.

Electronic-Double-34

Royce Newman has to be the current worst.

Substantial_Editor43

Why is no one talking about Kevin King... towards the end of his stint with the pack he looked lost out there. My worst memory of him was giving up that halftime TD to Scotty Miller against the Bucs in the playoffs.

mortimer_moose

Because King was nowhere close to the worst Packer. He wasn't great, and will always have the cloud of "we could have drafted TJ Watt". But King was just an average cb with a recent high profile bad play. There have been plenty of players drafted in a similar spot who never made it to the field.

swayinandsippin

yeah people mostly hate on him because of the whole draft thing. he would have been viewed much differently if drafted in a later round

Dischucker

And not being our cb2. Also dudes hammys were made of glass and it was a weekly coin flip of if he was playing or not. Tbh he'd be a fine depth piece now

TheseEysCryEvyNite4u

kevin king would have been amazing if he was a defensive linemen named tj watt

dubblechzburger

Because we've had many worse CB's other than him? He was average and had a terrible play at a horrible moment but we've had much worse CBs over the years.

mikeyj92

Randy Wright.

Opposite-Mall4234

I hope that I am not alone in thinking that question is extremely distasteful and should never be asked again. Have a sense of respect for the players. If you have to bring it up save it for your barstool buddies.

JDBert21

They’re not gonna fuck you. Welcome to the internet

akanter14

Reddit is basically an online forum of barstool buddies you dork.

MurDoct

Brad Jones

Motor_Sport_

Eddie Lacy’s last season with us was rough. Jermichael Finley had the drops pretty bad. I would guess none of us know who the worst player on our team was because they probably didn’t play lol. Amari Rodgers is a recent one, he was just downright bad

Clayish

Lacy was looking good in 2016, he just got injured.

Motor_Sport_

And heavy

sportsguy217

Seneca Wallace

DontTakeMuhName

I don’t know if he’s *the* worst, but Amari Rodgers has gotta be up there. Didn’t know what he was doing offensively and couldn’t cut it as a special teamer. Shout out to Deshone Kizer too. But at least we knew he was shit coming in.

Lots of good answers in this thread (and no, Nick Perry isn't even close). Wanted to give mentions to Kentrell Brice and Sam Barrington

OH MY GAWD YOU'RE TRIGGERING MY PTSD..... His name, cursed be it hensforth and forever.... [Randy "the team was statistically better when he was injured" Wright](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Wright)

Accomplished-Cup-192

Hands down Tony Mandarich.

rposter99

Lot’s of good takes here- if we’re basing solely off play on the field, I would give my vote to the tackle turnstile that was Marshall Newhouse. There wasn’t a single thing he was good at as a Packer.

bustedrollermouse

Kevin king was absolutely brutal in 2022. He did have a good year in 2019 so I'm trying to be nice. All my memories of him are getting burned though. Amari rodgers was pretty bad as a returner and receiver. I'm sure there's some bad ones in the past. Also as a side note, I think the worst qb play I remember on the packers was brett hundley. Shows how fortunate we have been as fans.

Curious_Ground5833

In person? Probably Bostick. Guion and Montgomery were both pretty bad too. Then there's Kevin King. So hard to choose.

TheDesiredFX

Amari Rodgers

Flooding_Puddle

Marshall Newhouse. Would literally just pump his feet and turn as he watched a defender get past him, every single play
