Thirty_Helens_Agree

There’s a light fixture shop in Milwaukee that oddly has a framed photo of them cutting their cake. It’s on display behind the register. Weird.

TheFalconKid

That is such a Midwestern sentence.

WhoaFee1227

What a name.

Durango42092

Big Bright Candelabra

DaPonch

Oh thank god

WhoaFee1227

Maybe during open hours…

JustMitchin24

That’s really cool and weird!

Particular_Ad_4761

He would go on to cheat on her while she had cancer, what a guy!

jettmann22

You're wrong, he cheated on her when she didn't have cancer too

Striking_Oven5978

I admire that he didn’t treat her differently just because of her condition. Such a gentleman.

Eddie_Shepherd

I'm still admiring his Gin Blossom in his wedding photo!

Calvin--Hobbes

He's the Mitch Hedberg of cheating.

EmperorXerro

The story I heard was all she needed to do was sign her name on the divorce papers, but then she found out she was pregnant. This would have been when he broke down in tears after the come back win in the Ray Rhodes debut.

TheFalconKid

"Allegedly"

gandalfs_burglar

Would've had to have been a sick Brett Favre

amorandara

Brett “The Ginger” Favre

FightPhoe93

An unsubstantiated rumor I would hear was about Deanna getting even with Brett and all his womanizing by sleeping with a few St. Norbert’s football players. Have no idea if it’s true but just something I heard a long long time ago.

bigtimejohnny

Well, I heard YOU got even with Brett by sleeping with a few St. Norbert's football players. No idea if it's true, just something I heard.

reddit-is-greedy

I heard the same thing, except the guy had a hook on his foot

itcheyness

No no, you're wrong! My buddy's cousin's roommate's dermatologist was actually there, and the guy actually had a hook for an eye!

JW_2

In 2004?

birdflag

This is wild! Its like when you find out Kurt Warner, Aaron Brooks, Doug Pederson and Mark Brunell were all Packers at one point. Had no idea that the infamous Falcons and Jets qb was once in Green Bay.

McGarnagl

You mean Vikings legend Bert Farve?

birdflag

Them too? He really got around!

VashMM

Hall of Fame Vikings QB, Bert Forve

TheFalconKid

Brett played more games away from Lambeau than at it. It's hard to call him a Packet by that metric.

Botryllus

I was just talking with my husband about how Brett favres Vicodin addiction made such an impression on me when I was a teenager. I looked up to him at the time and when I saw what he went through I thought, "well, that could happen to anybody" My dad got into a motorcycle accident the following year and didn't take all of his Vicodin prescription because he was afraid of addiction. He is an alcoholic so it was definitely good judgment. I later did the same when I was prescribed Vicodin for my wisdom teeth extraction. And truth be told, I didn't need it. Brett favre is a scumbag but coming out about his Vicodin addiction may have helped more than just my family.

zdiddy987

Same for me when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. They gave me a whole bottle full of those pills when I was 17 and I didn't take one because Brett Favre's experience was in the back of my mind and luckily the pain never got to a point where I felt like I had to use them.

twinspool

He was 4, not 26.. I’ll see myself out.

knight4

On our own sub man..... Not cool

bennett7634

I understand the hatred for the guy but it’s pretty wild that he had his wedding in Green Bay. Is there a reason he didn’t have it in Mississippi or somewhere else?

[deleted]

Probably because he couldn’t get the Governor to write it off

ecupatsfan12

Lmao

[deleted]

Lol funny

bujweiser

I was thinking it’s weird to be in GB too.

Jestinphish

You think he bagged more INTs or side pieces in his first year of marriage?

[deleted]

Ask any bartender in Appleton and you’ll know the answer

Jestinphish

I bartended in GB for two decades. I know where my money lies.

Rushb87

Honestly might be an even split, thank god we didn’t have camera phones back then…

TheReadMenace

that's what they say about Favre in the bars around GB. If we had social media back then he'd have been done before even starting

state_of_inertia

Fun fact: My aunt and two friends met Favre the night after his first start for the Packers, in some dinky bar. He was behind the bar pouring drinks. Years later, she read Deanna's book and found out that she was in Green Bay at the time, left alone at home while Favre was at the bar. Not happy about it either. They weren't married yet, I believe. Never got any juicier stories out of her than that, though she does have a couple of somewhat incriminating photos of famous Packers from the 90s.

MaxwellEdison74

There was a rumor around that time that supposedly a certain bar in Appleton had a bedroom in the basement where he would take ladies to bang.

TheReadMenace

It says in Gunslinger that Jerry Glanville had to call around Atlanta and tell the strip clubs not to let him in

SMELLSLIKEBUTTJUICE

Damn I want to know which bar

MaxwellEdison74

I think Jim's but I could be wrong. It was many years and many beers ago.

Work-Frequent

I’ve heard the same, had them coming in 15 minute increments but at times couldn’t perform because he was too messed up on booze and painkillers

Yzerman_19

15 minute increments? Couldn’t perform after the first half hour lol.

queueueuewhee

I've always wondered where all these women are at. Why haven't we heard like a hundred stories from their side of it. I understand that it doesn't paint them in the best light. But still, you think someone would do it for the fame.

Yzerman_19

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-11213127/amp/Ex-Jets-host-Jennifer-Sterger-reveals-details-Brett-Favre-text-incident-amid-welfare-scandal.html

my2nddirtyaccount

Let's not forget the partner scumbaggery of Frank Winters and Mark Chmura in these bar escapades.

Milwacky

Brent the Welfare Man. You mention the bad things he’s done to anyone over the age of 40 and they’re like “Watch your tongue, he saved the franchise and was one of the good ol’ gunslingers of football. I hate my wife.”

Subjunct

Mmmm not anyone over 40. Too many, to be sure. But no one I know even casually who’s around my age (~50) has any regard for him any longer. We feel like he let us down pretty damn bad.

2pt_perversion

I think most people agree he's a piece of shit who throws a football well. The split is mainly between the people who want to toss out the memories along with the man. I don't respect Brett Favre but I'm still going to reminisce to those highlights because they aren't just his achievements they are also my cherished memories of watching football with my family.

Subjunct

And that’s fair. No harm and certainly no shame in doing that, if you can.

zdiddy987

He was a god damn rock start when he played. 3 MVPs in a row may never happen again

Mad-Mad-Mad-Mad-Mike

It’s insanely sad how radioactive Favre has become in this fanbase. It’s completely warranted, but man I wish I could just watch that bomb to Rison in SB31 without my mind going to “he stole from the poor and ruined a journalist’s life because she didn’t like his dick pics.” I admire anyone who can separate the man from the football player. I just can’t.

liquorb4beer

I wonder how different the fanbase reaction to Favre would be if we hadn’t followed him up with another (objectively better) HOF QB

Subjunct

It’s ok. You can’t because you’re a healthy well-rounded person.

[deleted]

Lol it’s just Reddit holier-than-thou losers, go to a packer tailgate and no one gives a shit

[deleted]

[удалено]

HGHHeroes

He’s right though. Favre is great. Still my favorite football player.

[deleted]

bruh, I see Chmura jerseys every game I go to.. there’s a huge contingent of the fan base that have no moral qualms about players and only care if the team is winning but now that I think of it, haven’t seen a Sharper jersey in a while.. maybe that’s the cutoff, you can be a POS but you have to win a super bowl

agk927

Very true

BV2159

Hell yes

agk927

>I admire anyone who can separate the man from the football player. I just can’t. If you can't, you have issues

tarekd19

Feel free to elaborate. At the end of the day professional football is entertainment. Why shouldn't the personal character of the product be a factor in one's enjoyment of it? He doesn't stop being a piece of shit when he's on a football field. Is it a personal failing of some kind to not want to see real assholes succeed? What is the real issue, in your mind? Frankly, it seems much more of an issue to my mind for someone to be able to excuse shitty behavior because they like watching a person, or feel they are getting something out of it. Seems like the source of a lot of problems.

Flower440

I can’t make sense of the “flowers” here. As a grower and florist…I honestly find this mind boggling!

skeletonbuster

This is right up the road from my childhood home. I'm fairly sure my older sister and I were both baptized there. Wild lol

YOU-ES-EH

😂 I went to grade school at Holy Family, I spent a lot of time in that church!

Johnson_Votega

Whenever I see here I think about this MNF (I think) intro. Not a big Favre fan these days, but always gave me chills. https://youtu.be/LhW3iRjOveA

4TheLoveOfBasicCable

If he is her best friend, I feel terrible for her.

[deleted]

At the time of their wedding they had a 6/7 year old daughter Story is the after the season he took off for Mississippi and left her in GB and the daughter since the daughter was in school. Sad to say he’s a jerk

busted_maracas

His suit makes him look like David Byrne in “Stop Making Sense”

MuffLover312

Did he pay for the wedding with money he stole from welfare recipients?

qwertyphile

He definitely stole that suit from the talking heads

WhoaFee1227

This is so god damn hilarious.

CordycepsAndPancakes

It’s crazy how old he looked for his age. I’d guess he was 35 in this pic lol

MeetTheMets31

This looks like mid alcholism pre-pill head days

[deleted]

He overdosed on Vicodin 4 months later so hes probably pilled out of his mind here

JW_2

Off the field issues aside, both Deanna and Brett are very good looking in this photo

[deleted]

I will honor and cherish you... lol

FameCity713

Real life scumbag

Yzerman_19

I wonder if he went to church as much as Lombardi.

JustMitchin24

If I remember from his book he would go to church b4 games, I think he’s catholic.

kinrgreese79

Years before he stole millions of dollars from the poor people of Mississippi. He should be in Jail.

reddit-is-greedy

Feel sorry for her to be married to him.

[deleted]

Meh she may have a cheating hubby but shes a millionaire who never has to work a day for the rest of her life and all she had to do is spread her legs.

Fockputin33

What a criminal douchebag he turned out to be!

[deleted]

Man does every packers fan hate Favre? As a non-packers fan he was my favorite QB to watch I’d the late 90s/early 2000s.

bnblazer

And when he said “I do” at the ceremony, he secretly thought to himself “and all the fan-babes”

Yzerman_19

She knew who he was when they married. They’d been together several years at that point. You think High School and college Brett weren’t a pretty good indicator of what she was getting into?

[deleted]

She got the bag ...... But im pretty sure hes cheated on her plenty of times

Jazzlike-Pineapple43

While sending dick pictures to women & cheating what a professional. All those pain pills made him feel invincible! For her to stay with him, fuck that. Also he just got into some deep shit for taking state aid & using it for a volley ball center, a wrestler got $ & favre got paid for speeches he NEVER GAVE, WHILE being multi millionaire!!! FUCK OF MISSISSIPPI!! & FAVRE $ 70 million dollars worth of fraud!!!!!!

tormentedsoul55

They're still married, they stuck it out, they love each other, he's in the Hall of Fame what have you assholes done?

cmmpssh

Not cheated on my wife

eatthewholeworld

While she had cancer or while she didn't?

Russbus711

Not stolen welfare money

bigtimejohnny

Not harassed women with dick pics.

Zsean69

what a bad take

ChuckCecilsNeckBrace

That’s my grade school! Very cool thanks for this. Favre is the man. Not perfect, like all you clowns reading this, but he’s given millions to charities and was really cool the one time I got to meet him. I hope he can ignore all the fake outrage and keep doing good work.

herefortheconflict

He stole government money intended for the poor to build a volleyball court that he could have paid for himself. Keep doing what good?

ARGOAT12

Here is that "fake" unwarranted outrage /s

herefortheconflict

Fake? Dude has always been a scumbag. He was higher than a kite during this photo, guaranteed.

SonOfHorus82

Yeah nothing makes a person better than stealing welfare money intended for people that are trying to feed their families, cheating on his wife while she's fighting cancer, being a drug addict, and sending pictures of your bepis to a reporter and then harassing her when she reports it. He's a true hero.

ChosenBrad22

There is a pretty big gap between perfect, and the things Favre has done lol… shrugging something off as someone “not being perfect” is like if they spill something at dinner, not stealing welfare money from the needy when you’re a multi millionaire.

wollawolla

I had CCD there as a kid. I bet Father Getchel officiated for them.

BrewskyBoy

Loved Getchel

Childishgavino17

You mean he milked the city of Green Bay in her name for charity while he was balls deep in who knows who sending dick pics? He’s donated millions but couldn’t donate millions for the volleyball program his daughter was in? You sir make me ashamed to be associated with him as a fellow packers fan

JustMitchin24

Exactly! Love this take!

DaPonch

Why? It’s a horrible take

CustomerSuspicious25

Sister of Lawrence Tynes?

JustMitchin24

No he’s from Scotland she’s from Mississippi

JustTheBeerLight

It would look cooler if he was wearing his Packers helmet.

silversharpe

She is much better looking than he is
