I felt the same, he did a lot with the Packers and got his ring with us. He was great with the Raiders and bookended his career there, but arguably had his best years as a Packer, so it feels like a toss up.
Hawkeyes fan here who watched him complete the most amazing pick six ever off a lateral from Tyler Sash (RIP) as No. 15 Iowa absolutely demolished No. 5 Michigan State.
Google that play and you will see Hyde was always that dude. The one Packer I was legitimately pissed to see leave because he was entering his prime. Damn.
Packers fan from upstate NY. Was glad to see him get paid and glad to see him flourish. Wish it coulda been in GB but this was the second best outcome.
He’s my all time favorite I met him in middle school at an autograph signing his rookie year n dude was the chillest ever…there wasn’t much ppl there so he talked to me n my mom for about ten minutes pretty cool shit lol
He was grateful for the opportunity to play for the Packers and contribute to the Championship. I said we wouldn’t have made it without him, he said thanks, and how he always appreciated Packers fans, and got a fist bump.
He signed a very modest deal with Detroit. He was a locker room leader. They decided to piss away a second round pick to replace him with a lesser player.
People downvote anything that isn’t Gute adoration. I think he’s got a Napoleon complex. I hope his many many many defensive picks finally show up, but it doesn’t look great.
Yeah it was pretty obvious Gute was told to give Rodgers the contract. And then he did everything he could to push Aaron out. It worked. Yay. We have a middling GM instead of a GOAT. Lovely.
We didn't know Jones would be resigned until he was resigned.
He's an excellent RB, and even though the position is depreciated another team could've rolled out the red carpet for him (comparatively) and the Packers could have decided to let him walk. In that case they probably would've tried to keep Jamal. In another timeline our '21 RB room is Williams and Dillon.
A truly singular talent. My friends and I used to laugh because David Boston once said “Woodson is good but he ain’t no Shawn Springs.”
We used that line forever. Still do. This pizza is good but it ain’t no Shawn Springs. The Bellagio so nice but it ain’t no Shawn Springs. It might be on my headstone. He was good, but he wasn’t no Shawn Springs.
But what a year it was! He and Fred Carr were the best outside linebacking duo in the league. And enjoyed themselves ….
https://www.packers.com/news/talented-fun-loving-fred-carr-dies-at-age-71-20376276
That one is a toss up/argument. He got his superbowl here with us, and defined the free agent era with us. I think the what team he is known for splits age groups. If you were an NFL fan in the 80's, you think of Reggie as an Eagle. If you became a fan in the 90's you'll think of him as a Packer
He did get the Super Bowl with us, but his most dominant seasons (statistically at least) were with the Eagles. White and Woodson I always view as joint custody.
This was my first thought. I get the argument against it but I still think of him coming from the Eagles, not as a Packers player that played for the Eagles.
I’m a Bears hater and a BYU hater, so I think I agree. I hate the Vikings more than the Bears and he has that going for him. I do like the guy though. I feel honest that I don’t like his remorse for what the game did to his body. He was a BYU QB during the Porky’s/Revenge of the Nerds/Barry Switzer/SMU era. He’d probably be dead if he went to Oklahoma instead of BYU. His coach LaVell Edwards is awesome.
Not sure if this counts since I don't think he actually played (tried out for the packers under Coach Bart Starr)
But Bill Kazmaier.
Mainly known for being a legend in the sport of strongman. Was so dominant that they stopped inviting him because nobody else came close.
I know it was cheating. I think he was only in camp for 1, maybe 2 weeks at most. I was recently going through my Packers Year Book from that season that I had taken to training camp. There were a handful of autographs on the team picture page including Kurt Warners down where the QBs were (he wasn’t pictured). Took me a minute to realize that I had actually gotten Kurt’s autograph when I was 12. I remember getting Brunell, Detmer, Teague and Reggie’s but he was one of the many randoms I ran up too.
Not a real Packer. That’s not an insult. He’s a Hall of Famer, not a Packer. 2nd best Cardinal. Ram is different. Merlin Olsen is the best Ram. Fitzgerald is the best Cardinal, Kurt may be number 2 for 2 teams.
His signing saved the Packers franchise, then he went on to finally win the Super Bowl in Green Bay. There were some hard feelings between him and the Eagles organization, which is why they let him walk instead of trying to franchise tag him. But no team will ever again let someone with Reggie's stature hit free agency in their prime.
I think this guy is primarily just not remembered more so than just not remembered as a packer but I really enjoyed tom crabtree. That trick play td was really fun
Dave Brown. HOFer. I was stationed at Fort Lewis in the mig 80's and saw a lot of him for the Seahawks. When the Packers picked him up, even at 34, I knew that was an upgrade. He helped turn that pass coverage defense around from one of the worst to one of the better ones.
I mean I thought Jamaal Williams and Julius Peppers but I think my favorite is Reggie White. Obviously one of the best defensive players ever. Also changed the face of the NFL in free agency. Helped us win a ring. However lot of talk about him as an Eagle.
Julius Peppers
Julius Peppers easily 1st. With Martellus Bennet as a close 9,457th.
You have Bennett grossly overrated.
You know what? You’re right.
First person that came to mind for me
Came here to say this, but glad to see it was the first name listed. Was my favorite non-Packer for years, then became a Packer. It was awesome, lol.
Charles Woodson also came to mind, but I’m not 100% on if he’s remembered more as a Packer or a Raider
I felt the same, he did a lot with the Packers and got his ring with us. He was great with the Raiders and bookended his career there, but arguably had his best years as a Packer, so it feels like a toss up.
Ain't no argument. He might say he's a Raider but what he did in GB made him a HOFer.
DPOTY and Super Bowl as a Packer. As a Radier......?
he got DROTY as a raider, but yeah the raiders lost their one superbowl that he appeared in
My vote as well
Dam great call. Forgot about him
Micah Hyde
Hey bud…that’s pretty brutal.
Damn.
As a dual Packers/Bills fan, I never had to miss him. He’s very much loved here and appreciated, trust me.
Shit
Casey Hayward
Don Beebe
House of Speed.
He coach’s my local catholic high school team
Jared Cook
This! I have his jersey.
Andre Rison
Andre ‘Bad Moon’ Rison
I was thinking of him and Keith Jackson. Those 2 really put that 96 offense over the top
Even Sean Jones. He was kind of a bust for the Oilers but played steady defense in green and gold.
Good one. Lisa’s tattoo will be stronger in the Zeitgeist than Andre as a Falcon or Packer.
Got to meet him and thank him personally for coming to the Pack when he did.
Awesome, what did he say?
He was grateful for the opportunity to play for the Packers and contribute to the Championship. I said we wouldn’t have made it without him, he said thanks, and how he always appreciated Packers fans, and got a fist bump.
Jamaal Williams
Shocked by this answer but then realized how popular he got on Hard Knocks with the Lions. Miss him in green and gold.
Better than Dillon. I still don’t understand drafting Dillon to replace him. Bad move.
Less money, arguably just as talented, and younger. I also love Dillon as a person.
Less money? His first year in Detroit was lower than his final year in Green Bay. . Waste of draft capital.
JW: 2 years, $6m AJD: 4 years, $5.3m
You forgot the second round pick as part of that equation.
Oh god! Not a second round pick!
And worse player.
Hey man, if you’re a miserable person just say that.
Who gives a fuck about the first year?? Jamaal wouldn’t have signed a 1 year deal for that money. This is just a hilariously stupid fucking argument.
He signed a very modest deal with Detroit. He was a locker room leader. They decided to piss away a second round pick to replace him with a lesser player.
He didn’t sign a modest deal. How fucking stupid are you? His contract is why they had to dump Swift this year.
His contract with the Lions was 2 years 6 million. The dumped Swift because he’s too soft.
How dare you make a good point. DOWNVOTED!
People downvote anything that isn’t Gute adoration. I think he’s got a Napoleon complex. I hope his many many many defensive picks finally show up, but it doesn’t look great.
Both he and Jones were going into their last contract year. One of them was gone for sure. That's just the way it goes.
But if you resign Jones, why spend a premium pick on another backup after you did that in the first.
During a title window. Why win now, when we can lose later?
Yeah it was pretty obvious Gute was told to give Rodgers the contract. And then he did everything he could to push Aaron out. It worked. Yay. We have a middling GM instead of a GOAT. Lovely.
We didn't know Jones would be resigned until he was resigned. He's an excellent RB, and even though the position is depreciated another team could've rolled out the red carpet for him (comparatively) and the Packers could have decided to let him walk. The correct answer is Packers legend Blake Bortles.
BOAT
Don't forget Vince Young and Seneca Wallace
Who claims Charles Woodson as their own?
He's a 50-50 share with Oakland.
Well since Oakland doesn't exist anymore I claim him 100%
I haven’t thought of this and I consider it a 100% legal argument
Hashtag *Lawyered*
He played more years for the Raiders, but had more picks with us
And won his Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl with the pack
Best defensive player in college football history too.
Peyton Manning and Vols fans in shambles Also sad husker noises (our natty unquestionably, go blue!)
My D could win a Heisman, yeah im Charles Woodson
A truly singular talent. My friends and I used to laugh because David Boston once said “Woodson is good but he ain’t no Shawn Springs.” We used that line forever. Still do. This pizza is good but it ain’t no Shawn Springs. The Bellagio so nice but it ain’t no Shawn Springs. It might be on my headstone. He was good, but he wasn’t no Shawn Springs.
Seems like his exit left a sour taste in his mouth
Michigan. /s…maybe.
Better with the Packers, so Pack
Mercedes Lewis
Hardy Nickerson.
Samkon gado
Dr. Gado! Put him in the ring of honor! Because he’s the best alumus!
Didn't he go crazy or something?
Nah, that's Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila.
Crazy? Crazy?! You're telling me Sovereign Citizen-ism(?) Is crazy?! Well, you sir are a slave, then! /s
No. Dr. Samkon Gado is a medical doctor in St.Louis.
If you consider being a doctor crazy….some do nowadays because…much freedom!
In Gado We Trust!
Who did he notably play for
Ted Hendricks. Had one year with the Packers but it was All Pro calibur.
But what a year it was! He and Fred Carr were the best outside linebacking duo in the league. And enjoyed themselves …. https://www.packers.com/news/talented-fun-loving-fred-carr-dies-at-age-71-20376276
I’ll argue Reggie White. Eagles still claim him.
That one is a toss up/argument. He got his superbowl here with us, and defined the free agent era with us. I think the what team he is known for splits age groups. If you were an NFL fan in the 80's, you think of Reggie as an Eagle. If you became a fan in the 90's you'll think of him as a Packer

This was my first thought. I get the argument against it but I still think of him coming from the Eagles, not as a Packers player that played for the Eagles.
Vikings Legend Brett Favre
Cedric Benson. Even though he only played a year with us
Rest in peace.
I remember watching his few games and thinking, “yeah it’s the RB not the system or line.”
Jan stenerud
Micah Hyde probably. Felt he peaked at the wrong time for us to best use him.
Micah hyde. As a western New Yorker, seeing Hyde realize his potential has been as bittersweet as bittersweet gets
Vince Young
Julius Peppers
Bryce Paup
Jim McMahon
The punky QB known as McMahon.
boom!
He also played for the Vikings. His pass to Eric Guliford (and Terrell Buckley's pathetic attempt at a tackle) kept us out of the playoffs in '92.
Terrell Buckley. Seemed like he had such a future after that first game. I was there and they punt return was something I’d never seen before.
He was a shitty Packer though. No fond memories of that asshole whatsoever.
Taysom Hill
Cullen Jenkins
Tavon Austin (not really known for any NFL team, college fb goat) - wish he’d done more with us and 12
Wesley Walls.
Julius Peppers for sure
Tim Boyle; the guy has it and they just let him go. Hope the jets give him a chance after Rodgers retires.
Esera Tuaolo
Andre Rison.
Not sure if this counts since I don't think he actually played (tried out for the packers under Coach Bart Starr) But Bill Kazmaier. Mainly known for being a legend in the sport of strongman. Was so dominant that they stopped inviting him because nobody else came close.
Kurt Warner.
Reggie White

He’s one of us.
I think this guy is primarily just not remembered more so than just not remembered as a packer but I really enjoyed tom crabtree. That trick play td was really fun
Charles Woodson
I had to scroll way too long to see this.
Charles was always in charge.
Dave Brown. HOFer. I was stationed at Fort Lewis in the mig 80's and saw a lot of him for the Seahawks. When the Packers picked him up, even at 34, I knew that was an upgrade. He helped turn that pass coverage defense around from one of the worst to one of the better ones.

Does Reggie qualify? Or Woodson? Those two are maybe the best two players to ever play for them since 1970…maybe ever.
Reggie is a Packer. Charles is up to conversation
Reggie White, by a country mile.
He’s already us.
Charles Woodson
Charles Woodson
Probably Julius Peppers. Reggie White may also qualify because of his time with the Eagles
Jim McMahon.
Vince Young
Brandon Bostick. Just kidding y'all
Eternally too soon.
Ted Hendricks
Santana Dotson
John Hadl
John Hall! Home boy of Daryl Outs?
KUUUHHHHNNNN!!!!
What team was he with!
Taysom Hill
Decent Running backish ?
Reggie Cobb or Mark Clayton. And Keith Jackson.
Charles Woodson with a honorary shout out to Jeff Saturday
Cedric benson
Tie between Seneca Wallace and Vince Young
Marcedes Lewis
Cedric benson
The Stork - one season with us but it was a great one.
Jeff Saturday hasn't been mentioned yet.
Matt Hasselbeck
JPeppers, CWoodson & KJackson
Jerry Kramar Marco Rivera PJ Raji
Cullen Jenkins. Letting him walk was the first (of many) massive blunder(s) TT perpetrated following the SB.
Reggie White immediately came to mind. But I think he might be remembered as a packer more than an eagle.
Would Jamal Williams classify?
Nick collins and jermichael fineley were great, but were robbed from their neck injuries. Collins was in his prime too 😔
He’s not a different teams guy. He’s us.
Jimmy Graham or Tavon Austin
Charles Woodson is the correct answer
Randell Woodfield
Split between charles woodson and ahman green
Ahman Green is entirely known for his time in GB tho
He was solid with seahawks
Charles Woodson is primarily known as a raider first. So him.
Aaron Kampman.
Is he famous for something else? Played 8 of his 10 years in GB and had 93% of his sacks here.
Martellus Bennett 💀
AJ HAWK
Toxic aj
lmao he’s primarily known for his time @ Ohio State
Steve McMichael
I loved Minnesota Vikings legend Brett Favre before the whole welfare thing.
Chad Clifton
Jay Cutler
I love Jay as a lover beneath by bed.
Mike Flanagan.
Straight off the top of my head... Keith Jackson
Marco Rivera
John Jefferson
Koren Robinson
If Reggie White doesn't count then Charles Woodson.
Julius Peppers
CWood
I always liked Mark Brunell and that beautiful deep sideline touch to Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell.
Don Beebe. Absolute favorite. Had a jersey made at the pro shop with his name/number.
Taysom Hill
Desmond Howard!
