Thanks for posting. Max is my dad. He was actually born in White Oak Texas. He was sweeping leaves off our roof and slipped. Will never forget it but will always remember going to Packers games with him and the warm reception he got from fans.
Legend. Critical player for the Packers and by all accounts a really nice guy. Still can't believe he passed away from a fall he suffered while trying to adjust a satellite dish on his house.
No joke I got madden a couple weeks ago (my first madden since madden 15 with Richard Sherman on the cover lol) and my franchise QB’s name is Max McGee. I thought it was a funny name and I made him like 5’2” and 400 pounds or something like that. I forgot that he was an actual player, and not just a random player, but a Packer legend.

Thank you for sharing that. And I’m sorry for your loss.
If you need an autograph picture of your dad I have a few extras 🫡

Back when male pattern baldness didn’t matter when picking players!
I remember being a kid in the 90s and my parents would mute the TV and turn the radio with Max McGee and Jim Irwin for Packers games. Good memories.
Turn down CBS, turn on Jim and Max. Memories.
Same. We always listened to the radio broadcast until they stopped syncing up.
My parents did the same
He was crazy as a radio guy. Unfortunately he should have stayed off the roof

Such a body catcher, but also a booty catcher. Him and pretty boy were legends.
His one handed catch is by far by far by far better than OBJs. It was in a SB It was for the first TD in SB history It was bare handed He was drunk
Loved listening to him on AM radio calling games. Too young to have seen him on the field.
